Still wonderful! We used to live in the neighborhood and Himalaya was a favorite of ours. So when we visited Atlanta recently we returned here for a good Indian cuisine fix. As others have said, the garlic naan is terrific, as are the three savory appetizer sauces served as a lagniappe. I had their Chicken Balti (medium spice) and it was wonderful. My wife had the Lamb Boti Masala and proclaimed it delicious as well. It was also good to see the owner again after all these years. When you enter the shopping center you might think you are in the wrong place because of all the renovation construction – but look for the cluster of parked cars. Locals know this is a quality restaurant with caring owners -- a tastefully decorated, understated, white-tablecloth place. If you want some great Indian flavors, don’t miss Himalaya.

Im not an expert on Indian food, but I am a sucker for a good Indian lunch buffet. I tried this place on a whim as I was craving Indian food, but was away from my local Indian buffet. There were only two other tables there while I ate (12pm-12:45pm) which isnt a problem, just an observation. The buffet had several vegetable and meat offerings as well as salad, desert, and sauces. I was excited at first, but upon trying the various dishes, I found many of the vegetable dishes to be lacking in spice. The cabbage dish tasted like cabbage and the okra dish tasted like okra even though they were both in a spiced sauce. The meat dishes were a little better, but unfortunately werent very hot on the buffet. There are better Indian buffets out there, but this will do in a pinch.

This is a vegetarian experience review. The wait staff are good and considerate. They charge 15% gratuity on parties of 4 upwards. We ordered à la carte. The dal makhani was a completely reinvented dish and is fully avoidable. The vegetable curry was passable. The vegetable Biryani was a cross between fried and pressure cooked. The naan was good but the butter for the breads was not butter-like in flavor. People claiming to say the food was good here are either referring to the non-vegetarian items or have yet to be introduced to authentic Indian cuisine. Lastly, portions of the food was stingy.

I hope other reviews not left my owners. I went there with friends yesterday. I saw one server dark and bald wiping sweat and throwing on table. when we told him our order the server saw a fly killed it with hand and threw it on another table. The place is dirty. I saw our neighbours cursing for coming here. The food smells like it is cooked 3 days back. We wanted to leave the place as soon as possible and server told order more and we told no thanks and he took 45 minutes to get us bill and threw it on table. Never go with your family or girlfriend.

WORST RESTAURANT I have ever been to. The Vegetarian food is not at all authentic. Some of the staff members are really rude and dont care for customers, who donot order drink or non-veg food... Our family went today to this restaurant (looking at the overall rating) but that was completely misleading. The starters (Gobi Manchurian), vegetables (Panner Masala and Dal Makhani), Biryani ... were all their own creation without any Indian flavor. Just try to avoid this restaurant if you want to get a good experience for your lunch / dinner ...

I hated it! We went there on a FRIDAY night and the restaurant was empty.. which should have hinted us to get out! We risked it and ordered food.. Very very bad food.. and service.. The panner butter masala was merely water with colour and floating pieces of panner.. it did not even have SALT!!! when we informed the matron about it.. he claimed we should have returned it indignantly.. The food is bad.. unpalatable menu.. Expensive.. Why would you pay so much to have bad food.. go to minerva instead!

I am normally a regular at Rose of India down the street, but decided to try this place out because of a Scoutmob deal. After being seated quickly, and them messing up our drink order, we proceeded to wait 15 minutes before someone decided to take our order. Food took an additional 35 mins to come out and was very bland and just plain not worth it, even at 50% off. Dont waste your time. Head to Rose of India down the street for fantastic service and WAY better food & mango lassi.

I dont have much complaints with the quality, but man, they are too miserly. I ordered chicken curry and there were just 4 peices and gravy was just painted to the bottom surface. Inspite of this experiance, I went for a buffet on a weekemd. 2 Veg & 2 Nonveg dishes, a rice and naan, but the price was more than that of other good buffets. So, as I said, if you dont care for quantity, you might take a visit, but if you are real hungry, find some other place.

This restaurant is in our neighborhood, and it is delicious Indian food. However, we rarely go there because of the service which is absolutely terrible. We were there last night arriving at 7:20 and did not leave until 9:00. There were a handful of tables occupied, and there seemed to be absolutely no excuse. I doubt we will be back. There are other really good Indian restaurants in Atlanta who have excellent service.

Friend introduced me to this place a while back and now I try to hit it up at least once a week. Very awesome, chill place with great and super friendly servers. And the food is.......outstanding! Ive only tried a handful of different Indian restaurants and this one is by far the best Ive ever had. One last thing to note is the Naan is nothing short of fantastic! 5 Stars all the way!!

The food here is excellent, and they will tailor it to whatever level of heat you want. The wait staff has always been great to us. The only bad things I have to say are that their samosas often seem too greasy, and on one occasion I think they mixed up their hot and mild spices, because everyone in our group of 8 seemed to get the opposite of what they asked for.

I am never going come back there to buy or eat food. I was here for lunch buffet. I found HAIR in there curry. Called the manager he said it is an accident and it can be my HAIR. I was really??? Instead of making the situation right, he started judging me. Worst customer service and food hygiene(good luck with that) well yall can go there if yall like hairy food
