Ive been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and havent had a bad meal in 15 years. Breakfast is definitely the best meal to have here...but any time of day youll get good, southern, country cooking. Its not fancy food or atmosphere, but its good southern cuisine at a reasonably good price. My only complaint is the complete lack of any greeting or hospitality staff when you come in, especially when its crowded. When you come in the door you are walking straight into the middle of the dining room. If its a packed house, you stand there awkwardly close to people dining, while scanning the room and patio for a possible empty table. Its very uncomfortable and a huge lack of basic front of house reception. It also can leave you sitting without service for a long period of time after you manage to find a table. Theres no one telling servers when new tables are arriving, so if they happen to all be in the back, they may not stop by for quite a while. I had hoped they would have changed the layout to accommodate a hostess when they rebuilt after the fire, but no such luck.

This is an old-fashioned "meat n 3" restaurant, which were staples in the South when I was growing up in the 60s-70s. The food is great, the prices are awesome! You will get more than you can eat for less money than you thought possible. And the deserts? Shut my mouth! They are out of this world. The meats and veggies vary, but they do have a standard menu. I highly recommend the meatloaf! If you are a vegetarian, you will find plenty to fill you up here, but youll have to ask about the seasoning as it is very southern to season with salt pork or bacon.

I took a friend of mine to lunch, it was his first time to the Midway Meal House. I had my favorite freid chicken with squash casserole, and pinto beans. Michael had the fried streak smothered in white gravy, vegetables, and corn bread and rolls. I love the sweet tea, but Michael indicated the coffee was outstanding! Our waitress was attentive, and insured we had everything we needed. $19 buck plus tip. My guest loved it, and Ill be back regularily - wife loves the meat loaf.

Beyond the extremely temporary surge of blood sugar, I cant imagine this place actually nourishes anyone. Sorry, the food is just not very good--and its dated. Not that you all read these reviews but I do have a suggestion: start sourcing your meats and dairy from organic, no b.s., fresh suppliers and everything will change. Oh and get lettuce thats green. And rid your entire place of soy anything, including oil. Okay, that should be a good start.

Being from the South, I love home-style food. MMH does the South proud. Yeah, its not the most beautiful or mood-setting restaurant, but the food is good and the servers are friendly. You get to seat yourself which is nice... Ive seen some ppl complain about that... Ummm okay. If youre looking for an upscale, ritzy southern kitchen, dont eat here. But if youre looking for great food and service with a smile, youve found it!!!

In a burgeoning area, this place is surely a gem for great southern cooking. I had the country fried steak with mac and cheese, and it was delicious! I havent had country fried steak since the days of Pofolks in central Georgia, and this really hit the spot. My wife had fried chicken that was made very well. Flavorful and juicy! This is a great comfort food restaurant in the middle of an area thats modernizing quickly.

Everything was delicious. I had the country fried steak, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread, and apple cobbler. All were "correct". Everyone was nice and the kitchen was super fast. No fried okra on Fridays- only a minor disappointment. I guess something else is Friday only (shrug). So, is this Southern Food or country food? Is there a difference? My taste buds dont care. Its all good!

Took my husband and two girls last night. When you walk in the door, there is no one to seat you. All tables are very small. The restaurant was filled with flies. It was so hot in the restaurant. Wait staff was nice. That is about all I can say nice. I cant believe we paid $42.00 for a meal we couldnt eat because we had to keep swatting at flies. Will never go back.

Disappointing. The grilled chicken I ordered was obviously pan fried and the mashed potatoes were instant. Not my idea of home cooking" at all. In all fairness though, its always packed, so it must be what some people like. Just not me. Their hours are a bit strange, so if you do go, check beforehand so you wont arrive hungry to a closed restaurant.

Service is abominable. Gave it three tries. Second attempt was for breakfast. Waited half an hour for a waitress only to be told rather snarkily that we were too late for breakfast (due to our lengthy wait!) Walked out the third time after ordering fairly quickly but waiting an hour for food which never came. They have serious problems. Never again!

Its a southern home cooking meat and two nothing fancy kinda place. Compares well with Mary Macs at less than half the price. Fork tender chicken fried steak is exceptionally good. They do need to have a hostess at the front rather than having guests walk around looking for a table, especially at supper.

Terrific southern food, reasonable prices, & friendly staff. They accommodated our party of 10 with a smile. Meatloaf was moist & flavorful and mashed potatoes are the real deal, not some kind of mix. Blackberry cobbler for dessert is a huge serving, and awesome with ice cream. Cant wait to try this place for breakfast.

Holy WOW, I had their Meatloaf and fell in love. This is the best Meatloaf ever. I loved the cornbread and the sweet tea was so good. I came here with my family and we all loved our food. I definitely recommend this restaurant with its quaint look and feel, the friendly staff aND fantastic food.

Been here a few times with family/guests. Overall its nice; some may call it "character", some might call it "rickety", but the staff is helpful and friendly, and the portions for breakfast are large. The food is certainly above average, if a bit greasy for my wifes taste. Havent tried lunch yet.

Hours on their website say Monday thru Thursday ~ 6am to 8pm. I went there Tuesday at 6pm and they were closed. Updated hours on a piece of paper on the door were 6am to 3pm. Havent been there in years and wanted to take my kids there. What a disappointment !!!

My only issue with this restaurant is that they appear to never maintain the building. Paint looks terrible, missing balusters from the deck railing, etc. Its a shame since they had the perfect opportunity to stay on top of the maintenance after the fire.

Havent been here in a long time. Still the same. Southern Cooking can mean a lot of things. In this case, it means vegetables from the steam table & hot lamps. If you want good Southern Cooking, and have the time, go to Greenwoods in Roswell.

Home cooking at its best. Love the specials and the servers. Meatloaf and fried chicken are so good. Veggies are well done and the rolls and corn bread are perfect.
