It is with deep regret that I have to rate this restaurant so low. My spouse and I just returned to Tampa after a work related stay in Palm Beach. We wanted to go back to our favorite South Tampa eatery and enjoy what we missed during our 1.5 years away from Tampa. Today, Sunday, January 29th, we went to visit Daily Eats. We were greeted at the door as always and escorted to our booth. Aleese (sp?) was our server and took our order. My spouse informed her of his being a pesitarian (only eating fish, veggies, and fruit). I told her of my allergy to cinnamon and that I would love the sweet potato fries without this topping. She took our oders and returned to our table with some sweet potato fries that had a little cinnamon on them but was not sure. She asked if I wanted them. I reminded her that I couldnt have cinnamon due to my allergy. My spouse asked if he could take a bite just to see if there was any cinnnamon on them. He tasted them and said they had cinnamon on them and also told her that they were cold. She later returned with our main dish. My spouse took a bite of what was suppose to be the veggie burger but found out it was angus beef with the first bite. For those of you who do not eat beef, you know how terrible this tastes if you havent had any in 20+ years. Aleese did not apologize but said she heard him say Angus burger....would a person who hasnt eaten beef in 20+ years really request this? She took the Angus burger and returned with a veggie burger for my spouse to eat....after I had finished my main meal. She later returned with the new sweet potato fries....did I say late? (and they werent even crowded) Needless to say, the manager, not seen, should have come over to at least apoligize but that was not the case. Aleese then went to sit down with two friends at a booth. She was working but she was sitting by the window with her friend on the outside (isle side) of the booth. We are disappointed in this service and am sad to say we wont be going back. Daily Eats is not the same as it used to be in the past. Thats the disappointing part. We miss the friendly servers from the past....the quick and awesome service.....and the environment that encourages us to return. As for now, we are heading to bed...spouse has some meds for his stomach....poor guy...and I with my discouragement of not ever returning to this restaurant. (I hope this was helpful and that you have a better visit that we did. I hope it is that of what it used to be.)

I received my bacon cheese grits with a wood screw in my bowl on Saturday 2/13/16 at 11:30am. I must say, I am very disappointed with the service provided at Daily Eats after notifying the waiter and manager Mike showing that I bit into a wood screw in which I have attached pictures. Being a normal patron at this restaurant for breakfast has me wondering what has happened to the level of service and quality of food? Its hard for me to not believe that this was not intentional that someone inserted a screw into the grits to possibly cause harm an individual. After biting into my grits and chewing something crunchy I split out everything to discover a screw on my plate. Several other patrons including me friend witnessed this. I was extremely upset that I could have broken my tooth or even swallowed the screw resulting in surgery. The waiter was in totally disbelief and informed that he has need witnessed anything like this. The manager on the other hand grab the plate and took it to the back and offered to remake my order in which I decline. Being in totally shock before I immediately left establishment the manager offer me a $40 gift card and apologized for what happened. After going home I had a stomach aches that resulted in me having extremely bowel movements which I am still trying to get over. I hope the upper management of Daily Eats see this review and speak with their staff on food preparation. I could have seriously been injured because of negligence on the restaurants part.

In town for Gasparilla, I knew after day two of the Ultra Challenge would require some serious eats...brunch to be exact. Thanks to Yelp, I found Daily Eats and knew it would be the perfect post-race recovery. As I expected, there was a bit of a wait but nothing crazy so my mom and I waited for a spot. We got seated outside at a high top by the street which was perfect for people watching. I wanted sweet and savory so I yolod and got the Lox breakfast bowl AND the Captain Crunch French Toast with grits. The food came out relatively quickly for how busy they were. The Lox bowl was savory goodness. It must have been a three egg scramble atop home fries. The spice on the home fries was delicious. We could have gotten tots as the base but Im not a tots fan. The smoked salmon was also good. Not too salty as some had said. But the star of the show was scallion cream cheese spread. It was incredibly flavorful and melded perfectly with the salmon, eggs and potatoes. My mom loved her Lox bowl as well. The Captain Crunch French toast slices were sweet perfection. The toast was light and coated in Captain Crunch dust. Magical! The grits were incredibly creamy. Add a few dashes of hot sauce and it was kicked up a notch. Definitely a worthy side. After 18 miles of running, Daily Eats was not only a post-race revival feast but a magical flavor tour. Whether you are post-race or just in need of a solid breakfast, do yourself a favor and try out Daily Eats.

I was told my wait for a party of 5 was 30 minutes after an hour I went back to the young lady and ask how much longer I had to wait and she told me 20 more minutes I ask why where other group of 4 and 5 sited before us. When they got there last she said that if I was willing to sit on a table for 4 it would be faster because they have limited space. I said ok and she still gave me 20 minutes when they finally call us in the first thing I notice was the 2 empty tables that wood easily fit my family. In stead they took us to a small corner on the outside all the way by the ac unit on the back road no view at all. But something alse I notice was the segregation all Hispanic and blacks were sitting basically on the back of the bus, in this case the back of the restaurant. This ladys that when in at lease 1/2 an hour before us didnt even had drinks on their table. Finally when our server came to our table the rest of the time and food was good. But the segregation was obvious. That why it took so long to get us a table needless to say with my name am a Hispanic male. Over all good food but 2016 tables shouldnt be assigned by skin color.

Love the place, visit frequently. Ordered two bowls and sweet potato fries. Fries never came out. Normally not a big deal but the place was dead, a kitchen staff member or two were hanging out behind the bar, and my waitress never refilled our waters or gave us any attention at all. I dont want to tarnish her name off of one mistake, so I wont give it, however, I will give a physical description. She was the one with arms as hairy as the gorilla shot in the Cinncinatti zoo. That was such a messed up situation, just like me not getting my sweet potato fries before I was already full. I would guess she never put it in. When I asked for the check she didnt even remember about the fries until my other party member mentioned it, to where she suggested getting the fries to go. I had just stuffed myself full of a Thai peanut bowl. No I dont want the fries now. I work in the industry. It costs you twenty-five cents to make fries. I would have insisted on giving the fries for free. Still love the place, highly recommend it. 4/5.
