Sooo, this place is busy and for good reason. After reading the mixed reviews we decided to try this place out. My hubby, I and another couple. Instead of waiting for over an hour to sit outside, we called on our way to be placed on the waiting list. (yes that is an option!) When we arrived the other half of our party was already there at the bar and we were being called for seating almost immediately. So there is something to be said about calling ahead. The weather was pleasant with a nice cool breeze off the water. There was a little wait for our server Sara to join us, but not long and we were enjoying the strains of the live music. Drinks came, we still hadnt decided on meals, server was not pushy. Once orders were placed, if I did dwell on it, it did take a bit to actually get our meals (shrimp platter, blackened Salmon, scallops and the bourbon cream pork chop) that being said, we didnt really notice the gap as we were kept in libations and with catching up/socializing and dancing to the music time flew by. The meal itself was awesome. All items cooked perfectly. Hubby loved that he could get his Salmon blackened. And the Bourbon mushroom cream pork chop special was out of this world. I practically licked the plate clean, ignored everything else on the plate and asked for the recipe. Although I was denied :-(, it was a great evening. Just go there with the expectation of enjoying your dinner companions and soak in the atmosphere and you wont be disappointed. After all, dinner out with family and friends is supposed to be about the company you keep, not necessarily about wait times. We will definately be returning soon and bringing more friends especially now that the weather is (finally) starting to cool a bit. .

We are so disappointed. After reading such wonderful reviews we didnt mind the 2 hour wait, even with calling ahead for seating. But the service was just awful. Our waiter was so forgetful, we couldnt get childrens cups or condiments, and he forgot to put in part of my husbands meal, an appetizer he ordered as a side. The Key Largo Chicken with cappelinni was so bland it was literally boiled pasta slapped on a plate. I told our server that I did not care for it and he took the plate away. He did not offer to see if I wanted anything else, nor did he bother to remove it from our bill. There is no childrens menu, only a "childrens and light eaters" portion that was $8.99 for 3 "chicken tenders" that were more like chicken fries. This restaurant is listed as family-friendly, however their menu makes it very difficult to bring children. My daughter did enjoy the shrimp Mac N Cheese, although she never received the cole slaw to go with it. Ive never left a poor review in my life, however waiting for 2 hours with children for subpar food and service is ridiculous. When I requested for my meal to be removed from the bill he did remove it, which I appreciated. I am frustrated that a manager never came to our table, and the server did not make any effort to make it right, suggest a different meal, or even apologize for the slow service. The location is gorgeous, there is so much potential here if they would train their servers to be efficient and update their menu. ***There was a large class reunion party going on in the outside seating area so seating out there was not avaliable. Perhaps the large party was the reason for the excessive wait times and slow service, I have no idea.

As a local, Creekside is one of my favorite upper scale spots to go to dinner. Im picky about my fish & the way its cooked. Every time I go I order their blackened fresh catch (I usually get Mahi) and am never disappointed. Tonight my family & I went out to celebrate my college graduation and I ordered my usual. When it came out it was not consistent, in both taste and looks, as it usually is. I wasnt going to say anything, because Im in the industry and dont like complicating the lives of the employees during a Saturday night dinner rush, but my server Brandon overheard me and went above & beyond to accommodate me. Not only did he comp my meal, but he insisted on me ordering something else. I declined multiple times but he still brought out a free dessert for my family to share. Brandon was a fantastic server and creekside is one of the best local eats in town. Every business has their day where they arent 100% for different reasons. But out of 100 times eating here, this was the only time Ive ever had any sort of problem, that was quickly resolved by excellent service.

Watch the prices, folks, and ASK if the menu prices will be honored BEFORE ordering, and then GET IT IN WRITING. Better yet, if you want to be honestly treated, eat someplace else. Certain members of the Creekside staff may inform you - as they did us AFTER WE ATE, were presented the bill, and then only after we demanded an explanation - that the owners upped the prices in the computer to cover seafood prices; in other words, decided to charge whatever they wanted with the hopes, I suppose, that it wouldnt be worth the trouble of disputing it on our credit card and/or reporting it to DBPR. In addition, the tip is also, apparently, not up to the customer but up to certain employees and/or the owners of Creekside, because our credit card reflected a higher tip than what we wrote in and signed for. Needless to say, eat - and present your credit card - at your own risk.

Been there twice now, the first time a better experience than this (one more star for that one). Was attracted by their newspaper ad of a "loss leader" lobster dinner. The first course was a disaster: the conch fritters were so over cooked they were rock solid in places; the fried pickles were not properly prepped so lost their breading. The lobster main courses were done just right but a one-pound lobster yields only a few ounces of meat. Dinner came with two sides. The slaw and potatoes were great, but the black-eyed peas seemed to have just come out of a can with no seasoning, not even salt. And if you wanted the salad for one of your sides, you paid $1.99 extra. Really? Finally, the waiter kept forgetting to bring what was ordered and required prompting. Ill go back, but it may be a while since there are so many outstanding restaurants in this area.

One of the wonderful secrets St. Augustine locals keep to themselves, Creekside Dinery has a completely unfeigned homey charm. A well-rounded menu meets a marvelous outside deck overlooking Oyster Creek, overhung by big magnolias and oak trees, Spanish moss dancing in the breeze. Try the blackened fish (whatevers fresh) with roasted potatoes or creamy grits...if they have tuna, HAVE THAT! Often theres local music out on the deck: the wonderful Americana folk/bluegrass of The Driftwoods or another local band. The moonrise will shine on you, the food will comfort you and in an hour...youll feel like family. Regular stop for our family, for sure.

The crab bisque is to die for!, they have some of the finest beer battered shrimp on earth! I am a floridian, but I lived in st.aug and am living in san diego cali currently, and have yet to taste seafood here worth bragging about that I didnt have to cook myself :-) if you find yourself in st.aug, do your tastebuds a favor and go get some of what the creekside dinery has to offer! Oh and plus they boast a live band on the deck most nights that makes dining or having cocktails outside on the deck overlooking the creek a delight! Did I mention they have a wood burning fire on the deck and free marshmallows with sticks to roast !
