My boyfriend and I popped in here for a late breakfast around eleven to find the place packed and in full rush. We decided to skip the wait and grab a couple bar chairs squeezed in the corner of the restaurant. The bar top was dirty when we were seated --crumbs, spills and loose change from the previous patron-- so I began to clean up with some napkins, however our waitress noticed and quickly finished cleaning the mess for me. As always, we started with two glasses of water so we could peruse the menu. The waters were returned promptly, but after that we didnt see our waitress for about thirty minutes. When she finally came back to take our orders she apologized for the lengthy wait and thanked us for our patience and understanding. I placed my order for a Belgian waffle with cinnamon, strawberries and blueberries, with extra whipped cream and maple syrup. My boyfriend ordered Mommas french toast, along with some sides of bacon, toast and home fries. Twenty minutes later the food was brought out, and our waitress took note of everything once more to make sure the order was correct. Unfortunately she forgot to put in the order for our sides of home fries, so we chose to cancel that order to avoid another long wait. She expressed her genuine apologies for the mishap, an we appreciated the sincerity. Both the waffle and french toast were undercooked, leaving the breads soggy and unappetizing. Another issue with my order was the large ice-cream scoop of butter on top of my waffle, which wasnt listed on the menu, nor did I ask for it. We enjoyed the rest of our fresh sliced strawberries and blueberries and asked for the check. I love the food and aesthetic associated with a diner, but I have a hard time finding a diner that meets my standards. As with most diners, our server was as minimally attentive as she needed to be because the tables around us were regulars at the restaurant, and therefore usually need more attention from the wait staff. The food is bland and lacks creativity, as others have said "nothing special." I may be inclined to give this place one more shot, only because Im so frequently next door at Clemons.

Used to be our go-to weekend b-fast spot, but something has changed. The service has gone way down hill and the food too. Last time we were there on a Saturday at 1:30 and they said they were closing at 2pm (but door and menu say 3pm...). They were out of a couple of things that normally come with your omelette and when my hubby asked to sub a pancake instead the waitress said no. How much does a pancake cost? The thing is, when you go to a "down home" diner, its a trade off - you are paying lower prices for home-style food with friendly staff (hopefully), but you look the other way about the way the place looks and maybe some other shortcomings. But if I am going to be treated poorly then whats the point of going? The food isnt good enough to overlook bad service. Ill pay a little more and go to a nicer place. Our waitress was dismissive and ready to end her shift - didnt help that she kept making snarky comments under her breath like a pouty teen either (which she was). Sadly, after several bad visits in a row we are crossing this one off of our list for good.

First they sat other people that got there after us. Second our food took for ever. Tables that got there after us got there food first. Third server never brought our food or ever came back too see if everything was ok. She checked on every other table but ours. Ive been a server for many years so I know what to expect especially if you busy but I also know how server stero type customers and many she just figured lm not making much off that table so Im not going to try to hard. But the food was good will give it another try

First time Ive been here since it was recommended by a friend. It was a sweet diner and I ordered pancakes, eggs and bacon. I got my food with three skinny pieces of cold bacon I look over to another table that ordered a burger and seem as if they got their food freshly made. The price I payed for those three bacon was $4 which cost the same if it was store bought, how freaking pathetic is that? Anyway, last time Ill be coming here. The service was great though

Recently went here for lunch on a Saturday. The service was extremely slow. After ordering, we waited about 50 minutes to get our food, we asked 3 or so times where it was at, and they kept saying it will be right out. For a diner, that wasnt that crowded, I would expect it to come out much sooner. I ordered a burger and ordered it medium, it came out over well. This may not be the norm, but based on this one experience, I would not recommend this place.

just ate there a few days ago and have food poisoning. Ordered the sausage and biscuits and felt something chewy in the gravy. When I looked at it, it was RAW SAUSAGE!! I dont know if they are putting the sausage in the gravy to cook it or what but been sick for the last two days and its unacceptable!!! You have lost a loyal customer and I will never eat here ever again!!!

My wife and I had breakfast here. There was about a 15-20 min wait so getting here early is probably a good idea. Staff was very friendly. Ordered an egg combo and unlike many breakfast places, 2 eggs really were 2 as the portion seemed smaller than I would have expected. Food was all good and the biscuit was awesome.

I love classic Americana Diners. This place was it. Decent prices, hot coffee. Service was a bit slow, but it was Sunday morning. Our server, Stephanie was very friendly. She recommended the chocolate chip pancakes. They were great. If youre in the area, eat morning food here.

The big 3, which is very important; food, service, and price. This place is a sleeper. The poster boy of, all mom & pop diners. I would recommend Daybreak Diner before any large franchise such as Fridays etc. go for it! Youll love it. And Im a harsh critic.
