I had the worse experience at this restaurant that I have ever had at any other place ranked this high. We found a hair in one of our entrees. We politely told the waiter and asked for it to be removed from our check because we had lost our appetite from the sight of it. Before leaving we asked for the manager of the restaurant because we were told that they wear only hats in the kitchen, but the waiter seemed hesitant to answer the question. However, the manager was not in, but the owner was on site. As soon as the owner approached our table, it was down hill from there. He was completely and utterly rude to us and stated "these things happen in a restaurant"(no, they shouldnt). After his excuse rather than an apology, he promptly and suspiciously asked us if we were apart of the public health board once we politely implied the cooks should wear hair-nets. He continued to disrespect us and banter us even as we had tried being civil and ending the conversation and altercation. Upon leaving the owner was being restrained by employees as others apologized for their OWNERS actions. I have never experienced anything like this ever before. They lost my business forever as long as that owner is still around. This never happens at a Dennys, none-the-less a 4 star restaurant.

My husband and ate dinner at Porcinis last night to celebrate our one yr wedding anniversary. The restaurant is dark and romantic and has a great overall ambiance. The service is outstanding; our server was prompt, efficient and pleasant. We were disappointed when they sat us at a tiny half table that was so small we couldnt even open our menus without turning sideways in our chairs, especially since there was a larger table next to us that sat vacant during our entire meal. We ordered the tortellini appetizer which was absolutely phenomenal but when our dinners came they were simple mediocre at best. I would go there again with friends for wine and appetizers or perhaps to try their pizzas but not for a full dinner.

Always amazing! While in Louisville after the Derby we stopped in on a whim to see if they might be able to seat us. We got a high top in the bar area. Justin was our waiter and he was fantastic! He should have a job training other waiters and waitress on how to do their jobs! Knew when to check on us knew when to leave us alone. The manager came over and to check on us and I couldnt believe it he used to be the manager of a wine bar I hung out in when I lived in Louisville. He helped us pick out a beautiful bottle of wine. I have never had a bad meal here and they did not disappoint me. My husbands favorite place in Louisville now! We will be back during our next visit to Kentucky!

I love the cozy, high end atmosphere here. Dimly lit and very comfortable. Awesome Italian food, on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. Mostly working professional crowd too. Service is tops and staff looks happy to work here which is something I always consider before going back somewhere. I prefer the bar area and the bartenders take care of newbies and regulars with the same level of service. I plan on many happy returns. Frankfort Avenue is lucky to have so many fine Italian restaurants in the same neighborhood!

07-14-16 - My wife and I went to dinner last evening in celebration of our anniversary. As we were being seated I mentioned to the host what we were celebrating. All of the people taking care of our table made nice comments to us. We each had a before dinner cocktail, split an appetizer and had a glass of wine with our meal. Our server(Damian) mentioned that we should save some room for dessert. We enjoyed our meal immensely, and our server was great as was the rest of the staff. Thanks to all for an enjoyable evening.

Amazing Italian fare. Simple two page menu full of complex and creative cuisine. Every course from the appetizers and salads, to the entrees and desserts, left us more impressed than the last (and that was no small feat considering the calamari was a masterpiece and the spinach salad sublime) Only criticism would be that the service, while polite, competent, and satisfactory, was not nearly at the same level of excellence as the food. Will not disappoint, Bravo!

My fiance and I enjoyed a nice dinner there last week, the server was friendly and had good wine knowledge. Recommended a great bottle of zinfandel that really complimented my lamb and her steak (both cooked perfectly at medium rare). The restaurant is a little too dark, aside from some of their prices my only complaint. People really should let the food and service speak and leave the guido coach thing alone.

We (my wife and I) were very pleased overall. The shrimp was huge, plenty of it in the pasta. The restaurant itself was a little too dark. Almost hard to see what you were eating. The waitress was very friendly, but was sometimes slow to get to us. Not enough bread served with the entree. Prices fit the cuisine, we thought.

My husband took me to Porcini for my birthday and we had a great time. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable and he helped us select a wine that went perfectly with our delicious food. The atmosphere was perfect for a special birthday meal. It was our first time at Porcini but we will definitely be back!

Great food, relaxed, upscale atmosphere and a very professional staff. Only problem is that when eating outside the bugs are terrible since there are grape vines in the back. If you have ever met the owner, Tim, you know he cares about each and every customer and he takes care of any problem you may have.

I took my wife here for our anniversary. It was perfect. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious! They even wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the rim of the dessert plates in chocolate!

By far one of the best in a city of wonderful restaurants. The hard part is choosing because it is all so good and Ps leave room for dessert, never a regret.

Went there to celebrate my 65th Birthday. Excellent food and service, and as a bonus, my Happy Birthday dessert plate. Thank you Erin, our wonderful server!
