i walk in with my husband my 2 year old son and my husbands friend for his birthday breakfast and the smell was amazing i couldnt wait to eat, as soon as we got there we were coldly greeted but i brushed it off as they seemed fairly busy, took forever for them to ask us what we wanted and when she got to us everything seemed rushed like we didnt deserve the time of day for her to listen to how i wanted my meal again i brushed it off as i thought it was just because they were busy but then more people came in and they were greeted with a smile i thought they were family but apparently just a regular customer like myself. i asked for water but she didnt even acknowledge that she had heard me and rushed off before i even finished saying "can i please have some water?" end of our meal we get the check for 19.50 and even though we got terrible service i felt the food was amazing so we left $25 in cash and that was including our tip.. we go up as soon as we were walking out she said hold on guys i have to make sure you guys paid the right amount and im like what?? okay....? so we waited im not a thief.. then she goes its 31.50 you guys only paid me 25$ and we were a bit puzzled but paid her the rest of the money she gives us about 3$ in change and we walked out... this lady follows us to the parking lot and says "EXCUSE ME ARENT YOU GUYS GOING TO TIP YOUR WAITRESS??" (which she was the waitress) and we hand her the 3 dollars she gave us. all in all it was a terrible experience, it was my first time there and i would have LOVED to eat there again if it wasnt for her terrible service and how she made us feel on our special day

Weve seen this little restaurant every time we drive up University, so finally decided it was time for a visit. It was rather like a step back in time to the 50s diners. Small, homey decor and standard offerings. A "mom and pop" kind of feeling. I saw all of the usual breakfast offerings on the menu - plus some that you dont see often, like biscuits and gravy and corned beef hash. Biscuits and gravy are always near and dear to my southern heritage. We had them every morning at my grandmas house and my mom did them fairly often. But having the "real thing" tends to make one picky. I told the waitress that I would take my chances and try the B & G. She smiled and very nicely offered to bring me a taste of the gravy before I ordered it. That was a definite point in favor of this little place. While I cant say it was like what I grew up with, it was better than most. The sausage texture was a bit odd, and the roux could have done with more browning, but it was pretty good. My eggs (ordered over medium) came out fairly brown, but the taste was okay. I tried a bit of my husbands selection of the corned beef hash and it tasted exactly like what I grew up with - sadly, my mom got it from a can. It was very salty and I couldnt have eaten much of it. However, there were no huge negatives and the staff was very nice, making Orange Tree a solid choice for a decent breakfast at a decent price.

I have been in this diner many times and I always get the feeling that Donna the thin brunette has some type of attitude, and really 0 aid no mind, Today 12-11-2015 . I go in with a party of 3 we walk in Donna is at the front , I say good morning, and she does not acknowledge , she walks by again and I said good morning again and she did not respond. At this point we got up and left and I called one of the owners she has no experience on customer service. With that being said I would never spend a nickel in that restaurant , food is mediocre at best. Worst experience I have ever received in my life and I happen to be a food buff....

Since we came in the experience was bad from the cashier. The waitress was very nice. But the cashier had an attitude. The check was left at out table for $17 we dropped $18 cash with the receipt at the cashier desk and gave our waitress her tip. The cashier came out after us saying that we didnt leave enough money, we said we left $18, she said "oh you forgot the tax its $25 in total" she was so rude and I have never seen $8 tax on a $17 total, we gave her $10 more and left. It was just a really bad experience, first and last time coming here.

THE GOOD: **CHEAP IF YOU STICK WITH SPECIALS. **HIGH TURNOVER OF FOOD **DURING WEEK ITS QUICK THE BAD ** IT SHOULD GIVE YOU THAT MOM AND POP FEEL BUT IT DOES NOT ** NO CREDIT CARDS ** IF THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING ELSE YOU ARE NOT A PRIORITY. WALKED OUT AFTER 20 MINUTES AND PEOPLE WHERE CHANGING KETCHUP BOTTLES WHILE LOOKING RIGHT AT ME WAITING. ** SPECIAL ORDERS GET SCREWED UP A LOT SUMMARY:BETTER THAN IHOP OR DENNYS. BUT YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF COOKING AT HOME BECAUSE THE EXPECTATIONS OFTEN DO NOT EQUAL RESULTS

Cash only. The cook is great. The service from the waitress varies. I usually have the same waitress, a thin, brunette, middle-aged woman. Sometimes I order quick and get my food quick and other times it takes a bit longer, even if it isnt really that crowded. Ill go again cause the cook is the truth! My comment above was at least 7 months ago. I had the same waitress today. Shes kind of disappointing, just like the last time she served me. And the cook is still amazing. Remember to bring cash.

I live down the street... I love the food... but I can never eat it... this place is always way too full, and it takes so long to get in I always wind up going somewhere else instead. The staff is short and forward, somewhat polite but always very rushed... THEY ONLY TAKE CASH, IF YOU HAVE A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD YOU CANNOT EAT HERE. I would go there much more often if I could get inside, pay with my debit/credit card, and if the atmosphere wasnt so extremely cramped and rushed.

This was our first time here, I must admit, it far exceeded expectations... A very friendly staff was pleasant in their greeting - its always nice to start things off with a warm welcome. Then, our waitress helped us to select a great meal...she even suggested a lunch special to my girl, $6.75 for: chicken salad wrap, French fries, soup & a pickle too! My omelette was great, they custom built it to my specifications...well done, all around - Happy Saturday at Orange Tree.

Went in with my wife and 18 month old. We were not greeted. We sat down and instantly got coffe. So far so good. Then nothing..... I attempted to get the attention of the waitress to no avail. I have been here several times and never had service this poor with the same exact staff. I do enjoy the food here. However, Orange Tree has lost a customer do to the inability of the staff to take 1 minute for an order. Btw if a waitress cant lift a high chair.... why have them?
