This was our second time eating at the Frog and monkey, we arrived around 7 last night and were meeting friends for a party of 6. they were very friendly and got us seated pretty quickly, our waitress was very sweet too. She took our order somewhere around 7:20 to 7:30 and then hour and a half later we still had not even received any salad or soup. they kept telling us there is a backup in the kitchen but yet we saw other people that got there way after us and were already getting their food. finally when we were ready to give up and walk out the door they started bringing the food, at least the food was very hot and it tasted good. they did at least comp some of the bill but was very disappointed on how long it took, we have never waited that long anywhere ever before

Ordered larger 20 oz Stella Artois beers with our meal which, of course, cost extra. When served, the beers seemed awfully small. We asked the server who asked the bartender. The bartender was certain we had 20 oz servings. The Stella glass said 40cl right on it, but we did not know what that equated to in ounces. Our internet service did not work in the basement to check. After leaving and gaining internet service once again, we checked and found that 40 cl = 13.5 oz! I wonder how many others they have been ripping off throughout the years! Also, our food was mediocre and a little pricey. Will never go back!

My wife and I went out on a date night for the first time in 3 years since weve had our kids. We chose this place because it had a menu we liked and its a basement pub. How cool is that? Pretty cool. We loved it so much that we have decided to come back once a month on more date nights. The place it self is very unique, definitely nothing else like it around the area. The people that frequent this pub are friendly, the staff are great and on top of their game, and the food is top notch! Not to mention the beer menu is endless. We will be back monthly to enjoy this little treasure.

Great beer, food, atmosphere and they treated us like family. It was pleasing to see a business who expressed thier beliefs and one that survives amongst the bullshit "please dont give me a bad review" world we live in. This is a place that we will happily come back to and become regulars at. We love the atmosphere and the servers friendly, family-centeterd, attitudes.

Hidden below a Mount Dora landmark, lives one of the most enjoyable dinning and drinking experiences to be found. The Frog and Monkey lives up to its eclectic name. The atmosphere is intimate and casual, the menu features something for everyone, and the staff is prompt and friendly. My wife and I recently discovered this restaurant/pub, are now regulars here.

The waiter was bending over backwards for us despite being super busy. He made the experience memorable. My fish & chips were pretty good, if I have to be picky Id say the fish could have been cooked a little more, as the breading was soggy in a few places. But overall good experience and I would go back there. Fun environment too.

My husband and I have made a tradition out of going to Mt. Dora every year right before Christmas. On our first visit we went to The Frog and the Monkey, it was amazing. Last year we decided to try something different and were not impressed. Tomorrow (12/23/11) when we go, well be going to The Frog and the Monkey.

The service was mediocre and the food was horrible. Fries appeared old and reheated. The Portabella panini and burger were completely unseasoned. Food was very disappointing for a downtown Mt. Dora establishment. Would not recommend. Also, overpriced for what you get.

Service was bad waitress didnt care that lunch took 45 minutes. And she said, only 15 minutes??? Food sucked. Will never be back. Stop putting pickle garnish on panini. Some people are allergic. And your stairs are dangerous. Dark. WAY dark. Almost fell.

A little pricey, but such is life in Mount Dora. Great atmosphere and decor create a truly unique experience. Lots of good drink options. Not much in the way of cell service, but the patrons always provide plenty of conversing opportunities. Dont pass it up!

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. They were crazy busy due to the downtown art festival, but the service was fast and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this cool spot to other hungry folks.

Best French onion soup! Absolutely tasty. Tons of flavor and fullness. The soup is topped with cheese and fried onion strings. You wont regret a bowl of this soup.
