Decided to give this place a try on the basis of the good reviews listed here. What a disappointment! Both online and posted hours said they were open until 9:30pm. We got there around 8pm and it appeared they were already in the process of breaking things down. A woman we took to be the manager or perhaps the owner ushered us in and made the gentleman at the hibachi put the stuff back out so that we could get plates from the grill. He was quite obviously very unhappy about this and it seemed to spark contention among the staff. Even though we were told if we wanted something to ask...they continued to pull food and showed no intention of putting anything more out. A few other people came in while we were there and although they allowed them in they showed no sign of intent to actually serve them. The entire time it was obvious we were being talked about and that the staff was complaining about us. I was very uncomfortable and angry...even more so when I received the ridiculous bill for a buffet we didnt even really get to utilize! If they wanted to close early and didnt want to serve us they should have just said so! My advice...if you are thinking about giving this place a try...DONT!!

Every restaurant has had its share of "issues" with the food-police. I think its a matter of whos who and so on, as far as whats reported. Some restaurants, in my experience, are simply "targeted"...be it location or the "nationality" of food. You can read between the lines there for yourselves. I have frequented Golden Wok since I moved here in 2014, and have never found anything questionable or "unsafe" in the food or the way it is presented. If there were any violations on record for them, theyve corrected them and moved on. So should YOU, the dining public, and not hold an old "violation" (and I use that word reservedly) against a restaurant until the end of time. The sushi is consistently fresh, which is my big draw. The mussels, salmon, and spicy chicken/shrimp dish, are my other favorites. Im not into the mass-produced items that you commonly see on other buffet offerings, but I have sampled all that Golden Wok has to offer, and have never been "offended". If youre looking for 5-Star dining, look in the right direction. This is a Chinese BUFFET, people. A darn good one at that. Ignore the negatives. Give them a try if you already havent.

The Golden Wok is one of those very special family restaurants that accommodates the patrons desire for food that is unique and appetizing. The smells and aromas delight the senses, especially when you are hungry. Marvelous display of choices - everything prepared to perfection, constantly fresh throughout the day. No wonder, the food doesnt last long enough before it is swooped up. Tantalizing is the word for their monstrous buffet, and a satisfying and hearty array of several types of soups, seafood, beef, chicken, crunchy vegies, salads, deserts and pastries, fruits, hot tea, and cold beverages. Besides the buffet, there is a full slate of menu dishes, and take-out. Sushi is a hit, with a special chef who prepares the Sushi right before you. The atmosphere is loose and cordial, with friendly smiling waitresses at your beck n call. The price is right, the food exceptional. Spring Showers

The sushi is prepared on-site and was fresh... but the rest of the buffet was average or below. None of the "sauces" on the many chicken dishes was particularly "tasty".. I.e., the peanut chicken had no peanut taste whatsoever, Generals chicken not spicy, everything just kinda bland. The young lady that greeted us when we entered was terrific... remaining staff not rude, but not memorable. The desserts, especially the vanilla pudding and tapioca pudding, were pretty bad and the rest was either pre-packaged or canned junk. The pricing for dinner was high at $11.50, not including drink, given the overall selection and quality... the lunch price is lower and probably a better value. The three of us were disappointed, and just cant recommend... unless you are going just for the sushi.

Holy... AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE--BECAUSE YOU MIGHT GET IT. I have never had such bad food poisoning in my entire life. I went with my boyfriend and roommate--we all had to spend plenty of time in the bathroom after this horrendous experience! The food, at first glance, looked like it may have been okay... And then we ate it. I can tell you that much of it was not entirely hot and presumably not stored correctly. I could hear the cooking staff screaming at each other from my seat in the dining room and it didnt sound like it was in the spirit of cooperation. This place has many issues--my roommate/boyfriend/my stomach, intestines, and toilet can attest to that.

My wife and I go here for the takeout buffet once or twice a month for 3 years. This is a Chinese Buffet people, Buffet. You may order fresh off the menu for extra but dont forget the buffet may have just been put out, or have been there for a minute. Just like any buffet. To be honest for its size they have decent variety, reasonable price. I ate here a lot and the only issues Ive had were from stuffing my face too much. My wife regularly gets the sushi. The place is clean and the staff is always polite. Then again Ive worked in food service and dont go into a resturaunt minutes before they close.

I was very disappointed with the food since the last time it happened to be very good. The icing on the cake was my girlfriend and I asked for another set of forks and spoons... after we paid and were on our way out the manager or owner stopped us and made it clear that the next time we come we only get one set of forks and spoons each. My girlfriends spoon happen to be dirty so we told her that. Her answer was " the spoon was not dirty" so we made it clear that we will never come back again and that our friends and family wont either..

I dont expect much from a Chinese buffet but some how they manage to impress me with a new low. Food is mediocre, nothing impressive. But what really earned one star from me is the bad business practice. The lady try to be sly and over charged me. The scale said 1.1 lbs and they advertise 7.99/lbs for sea food, which is what I got, but she charged me 11.93 dollars. Unless the soy sauce packet was a dollar each it doesnt make sense. Didnt want to cause a scene so I just left, but definitely not coming back. Just wanted to warn everyone.

If you go with children be prepared to pay for a separate dinner per child, even little ones, whether each can eat a plate of food all by themselves or not. I am not talking about the buffet, in which it is expected that you pay for each buffet per person. They did not have any notice posted about this, but told me this after we sat down and ordered several platters of food. None of this had anything to do with my childrens behavior as they are well behaved as told to me by others (who do not even know me) when we go places.
