My son and I ate here tonight. He got the Orange Chicken and I got the Honey Walnut Chicken. Now I just want to say that I normally get the Mongolian Beef and that stuff is usually amazing. Tonight I decided to try something different and my son wanted Orange Chicken but didnt want Panda Express. The Orange Chicken had so many LARGE pieces of orange peel in it that he kept getting bites of it (it was hard to see in the sauce when his plate was full) that he said it was bitter. And there was so many red peppers in it that he said it was like eating through a minefield. In fact, 20 minutes after eating he said he was going to rinse his mouth out because he couldnt get rid of the bitterness in his mouth. The Honey Walnut Chicken was good but first of all, the description didnt say it was a cream sauce...I dont normally like cream sauces. Also, I expected more of a honey flavor...no. There was apparently mustard in the sauce (not in the description) and the mustard flavor was so strong that I could only eat about half of it. And I LIKE mustard! Nothing in the description indicated a honey-mustard sauce, which I normally do NOT like. We also got pot stickers and spring rolls which were both excellent. I will still go here again for the Mongolian Beef but Ill be a little leery of trying anything else on their menu after this experience.

As soon as you walk in the smell of the building alone is musty and unpleasant. I live less than 5 mins away. Decided to give this place a shot. I got my lunch to go, I ordered Sweet and Sour chicken with fried rice and wonton soup and a side of shrimp toast. The shrimp toast was still cold in the center and really oily. I dont mind if something from a restaurant has been frozen but to not even bring it to temp. Is just aweful. The fried rice had just egg and small chunks of carrot, very lack luster and bland. The chicken was beyond over cooked and dry which could also be because their pieces were so small compared to anywhere else. To say the least terrible experience wont be returning to give it another try.

HEADS UP!!!! MUST READ!!!! My fiance and I stopped in today to get a to go order. When he placed our order and paid for it, another woman came out and said the Health Inspector was there and the cook didnt want to cook until the Inspectir left!! Now they did refund our money and said we could have a free lunch if we wanted to wait for the Inspector to leave! This all made me leery so we left.

When I arrived hostess was extremely rude. Ordered my meal and she was back with my meal within 5 minutes which should have clued me in not to eat it. Food looked and smelled ok but I had severe intestinal issues for the next 3 days to the point I was considered going to the hospital. Will never eat here again and will never recommend eating at this restaurant. Eat there at your own risk!

We ordered take out from the Lantern for the first time from and it was pretty awful. I got the sesame chicken and my husband ordered general tsos; they tasted exactly the same. The peppers in the general tsos are the only reason we could tell them apart. The fried rice was bland and the chicken was soggy. Unfortunately, we will not be ordering from the Lantern again.

My review of their dine-in service is based solely on experiences during the holiday season. I feel they would greatly benefit from increased numbers of chefs and wait staff during the holidays as hungry customers generally degrade the longer they have to wait for food. The food quality itself is top notch and I imagine the service improves during non-rush days.

Great service every time we go. We really like the waiters there, and they always exceed what is typical. The atmosphere is very nice, more upscale place to eat relative to the choices on East Broad. The food is very good. My husband is a vegetarian and there are plenty of options for him. They will customize your order however you want. We eat here often.

I called and complained because all of the sauces changed. It was disgusting! My sauce for my scallops in ginger sauce was watery. The sauce for my dumplings was just soy sauce and we got duck sauce instead of sweet and sour sauce. I use to LOVE this place but its gone to crap! Never returning!!!

Been going here for years! Its the best in town, bar none. May and Martin are fantastic hosts with great sense of hospitality. They also have a fantastic sense of humor. My favorite is the Spicy Triple delight, and the spring rolls are pure YUM!

Tonight was the first time I ordered food from there and the last. The house rice tastes old and metallic, the price is too high for a little bit of food. The wings are flavorless. One of the worst Chinese places around. Sorry, I have to be honest.

Food was fairly decent, standard Americanized Chinese food. The cleanliness left a little to be desired. My first glass of water had a little piece of dirt or something in it. The place is aging with wallpaper peeling off the walls in places etc.

The food was awsome but wated 40 minutes for my food. There were other patrons that walked in after us and got served within 10 minutes. My oppinion is that this place may not he ethnic friendly. Sad because the food was good onced recieved.

Just moved to the area and decided to give Lantern a try. Order sweet and sour chicken and an egg roll. Egg roll was just ok. Sweet and sour sauce tasted like it had barbecue sauce in it. Chicken was good. Not sure Ill try them again.

Mala beef, extra spicy. Steamed rice. Perfection. Also, theres a 99.99% chance it will *always* be ready in 10 minutes, maybe a little less. Theyre extremely consistent.

This is quite the gem in the rough. Dont let the exterior deter you from enjoying a good Chinese meal in their delightful atmosphere.

Good sit-down Chinese, food is not as sugary as normal takeout Chinese. Generally, it has efficient service and reasonable prices.

Food and service are good. Interior is dated, but not bad. One of few Chinese restaurants I can eat at without getting sick.
