Excellent Reproduction of Chengdu Hot Pot Dish. After spending 2 months this year in Chengdu, Sichuan Province and eating at over a dozen restaurants, I sorely missed the awesome spicy hot pot cuisine. Well I found this gem in Vernon and its no surprise that its a direct knock-off of western China spiciness since the two chefs are from Chengdu. Dont be afraid of the red pepper symbol and try the Sliced Pork and Vegetable in the Hot and Spicy Bowl. The spices perfected in Chengdu are robust and flavorful but will not wipe out your taste buds and wreck your meal. Beware though, the serving is large and very addictive. I could only eat half since it was so large and I am looking forward to left-overs. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The bar and dining areas are very clean. As is the mens room. Easy access from route 30 and ample parking. You must try the non-traditional Chinese-American dishes and you will never go to one of those type places again. Its that good.

I go with my wife all the time. She orders the typical American Chinese food while I order stuff Chinese people normally order. She has mixed feelings about this place, sometimes it’s good, sometimes not so much. If you don’t like the food you get, bring it up to the owner, the nice guy wearing glasses. He will help you get what you want. For the Chinese people out there, this is the best you can get in the area! Just ask them if the chef can make what you are used to eat in China, even when it’s not on the menu. You’ll be surprised by how flexible they are. Nice place, good food, and friendly staff.

I order take out and eat out quite often. Sichuan Pepper is where Luck Joy used to do business, in the same plaza as Reins Deli. I ordered my food online, it was ready when I arrived and the food smelled great, flavor was awesome and tasted better than most of the Chinese Restaurants in the area! I will certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good Chinese.

This is a fantastic gem in a nondescript mall off I84. The sichuan dishes were fantastic -- some of the best dan dan mein and ma po tofu anywhere. The non-sichuan dishes were also very good, made with quality ingredients and good technique. I occasionally stopped at Reins in the same mall, but Ill probably make Sichuan Pepper my go-to spot when passing through CT now.

First time I ever had Xiang Jiang Chicken, Spicy with a hint of five spice and the slight numbing effect of Sichuan peppercorns and served over Udon noodles. Despite having to navigate around some bones (this is adult food), I could not stop eating this dish! The broth was fantastic and the portion size large. Im definitely hooked as a customer here.

Hands down the best Chinese Ive had outside of the NYC area. If youre looking for Americanized Chinese, look somewhere else. Their General Tsos is nothing like the schtuff thats served at other places in town. This place is authentic, and has the perfect amount of spice. I cant wait to go back for "real" Chinese!

I love this place, been there countless times with my wife and its been great. The owners are really friendly and take pride in their food and I am always impressed. The best dish in my opinion is the dan dan mian which is minced pork with spicy sauce. The water boiled fish slices are great as well.

The food is good, but the portions are extremely skimpy... for their lunch combination meals costing nearly $9, you get a little more than half what you would at other places. Shame, but I cant recommend this place when it comes to getting a nice satisfying meal for lunch.
