El Azteca made our wedding reception fantastic and memorable. If you want amazing food, great service and a personal touch, you MUST go to El Azteca. I originally found them based on Yelp reviews, and decided on them sight unseen (or food untasted rather) to cater my large wedding which took place at the Pavilion at the Mid Hudson Children’s Museum. Once I met Clara, one of the owners, in person, I was absolutely taken back by her warmth and kindness. And the FOOD! My Lord! I have never had better Mexican food...or any type of food as a matter of fact! We had 137 guests out of an original 170, but after trying the food, we kept our order for 170 beauce the food was so good we knew there would be lots of people who wanted seconds, and we were able to take home trays of deliciousness. Her communication was great and she is the sweetest person! We knew that our guests would be blown away, and they were. We had so so many people rave about the appetizers and meal, which made us so happy since we had people coming in to town from as far away as Canada, Florida, the West Coast and Costa Rica! I was very proud to feed them such wonderful fare, and it was especially nice for some of our guests who’d never eaten Mexican food before - what a great introduction to a fantastic cuisine! They also added in special touches, like offering some really tasty caramel-esque lollipops, which my bridesmaids went crazy for. The service was fantastic as well - they were so professional, and the delivery and presentation was out of this world!! I can’t say enough good things about El Azteca - their catering is truly out of this world!!

What a fantastic find! Meant to review this place when we randomly stopped in a few weeks ago, its a small interior but there is a center table that was able to fit seven of us and a baby. They were super friendly, the service was great, and they allowed us to wait for the table while placing orders spur of the moment. As for the food, it is the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Seriously the food was so good out of all the 7 dishes on the table we couldnt help but share them amongst each other and found nothing but compliments for all.

IT WAS AMAZING! I was actually in the middle of raving about them to my friend and I remembered that I HAVE TO write about them! The service was SO FAST and they were so kind and definitely pulled out all the stops. We got free churros that looked like plastic but were actually *p e r f e c t l y* fried and soft on the inside and the Mexican rice was SO GOOD I dont think I can leave Poughkeepsie without eating that rice and the Flautas (an entree on the back of the menu) was so good.

Just happened to find this area as we were visiting" little Italy". Stop for a bite to eat. Very expensive for what you get. Three small tacos 7.00, three sopas 11.00 no rice or beans. 5.00 for horchta. 59.00 later and we shared a meal. The food had little taste and was bland. The interior was cute and clean and the service was good.

One of the most authentic Mexican cuisine in the area. The grilled fish tacos are perfectly seasoned (order Mexican style) and they come with a side of pico de gallo & guacamole. The Chilaquiles Verde is warm, spicy, and comforting. Complimentary chips and salsa. They also offer specials like Taco Tuesday (3 tacos, any meat for $5).

Okay lets be fair this is not a five-star restaurant so its not fair to give it 5 stars. However the food and service get better every time I go. Ive been there several times and todays visit was by far the best. Top Notch service and an outstanding burrito. Would recommend to anyone looking for great Mexican food in the area.

The waitstaff at this place were among the friendliest and most attentive (but not intrusive) Ive ever encountered. The restaurant itself is painted a cheerful bright yellow with lots of colorful accents. The food is very reasonably-priced and plentiful, and the guacamole appetizer is some of the most delicious Ive ever had.

Pretty decent Mexican fair. The only strange part was the wait staff offering me either bottled water or tap water. If I chose tap water I would have to get it myself. They were all friendly and came around to see how things were going just a little too much. Wish they would have came around with water!

Its not just a small grocery store but a mexican eatery too. The food was amazing, I actually wanted to buy seconds to take home for tomorrow. I was shocked. The service was really great too. If you get a chance and want some home cooked mexican food this is the place. Try the pork tacos.

4.5 so delicious!! Authentic Mexican. Tacos Al carbon were the best. Tamarindo was so fresh tasting and horchata too. Huge servings and the best salsa Verde! Lacking a half star only because there was one waitress for the whole place (she did a great job) and the area was a like sketchy.

It is like heaven in the mouth. We ordered the Cuban platter, taco salad, and tostadas. Best Mexican food ever compared to many restaurants we had tried in NYC. Wish it were closer to me. Strongly recommend. Cute waitress.
