Lets just say, if I could, Id score -5 stars. WORST SERVICE EVER - DO NOT GO, go to Kobe in Manchester instead, or Sakura in South Windsor!!! I used to frequent Oki in Vernon when they first open because they have this awesome party package for parties larger than 10 people and at first we were so shocked with the amount of food and the great service. However, over the years, the service has been getting worse, and worse. Im not sure if it was change in management or what happen, but its become the worst managed hibachi restaurant Ive ever gone to. Ive worked in hibachi restaurants, so I know enough to know this is a major management problem. The straw that broke the camels back for myself was our New Years Eve dinner. We made hibachi reservations, party of 12, we did the party package, our reservation was for 6, the second we sat down I noticed our server was new, and Id never seen her before, I became quite nervous. She immediately hounded us to get drink orders, we were not ready, so she stood there staring at me, so I said, "Ok, just bring the table some waters please." We werent sure what we were able to do yet, as some of our guests were not sure on whether or not they wanted the package. So she comes back with water, and asks for a drink orders again, we try to explain to her that we are waiting for our other guests before we decided....so that back and forth goes on for a while, with her never understanding what we wanted to do. So we put our drink orders in. She goes away for 10 minutes. Some of our missing people show up, were still missing one, and we needed that one person in order to count for the party package. So because our server was so adamant about us ordering and rushing us so much, we were forced to call our missing person and ask if he wanted to do the party with us, and he agreed. Our server comes back quite a bit later (before all of our alcoholic beverages were out from the bar), and asks us to order our appetizers, now we hadnt even been sitting for a full 15 minutes at this point, which was moving a little too fast. Next thing we know we order our apps, she goes to the computer, comes RIGHT BACK, and makes us order our hibachi meals, which we then AGAIN, had to call our missing party to see what he wanted us to order for him, then the apps come out, then the soup, then the salad, then the sushi, then the hibachi chef comes out!!!!! At this point it was a whirlwind and we were all just super confused as to how we got to the point we were at so quickly, it had MAYBE been a half hour. Our missing person hadnt even shown up yet, and the hibachi chef was already cooking! So by the time our missing guest showed up he already had rice & noodles on his plate, unreal. We had to beg our chef to do the sake, and even after that he never even tossed the zucchini they normally do for your to catch. Terrible. So about an hour goes by and our chef is gone, our server is barely available to us, and were stuck with empty glasses and a massive amount of plates. Then, our server comes back and we try ordering more drinks, she goes to the computer, comes back and hands us our bill.....uhm, this package includes dessert? Before we could even say that she disappears and a manager appears saying "do you mind going to sit at the bar with your drinks? we have another large party coming in we need to sit" Mind you, we still had an hour left on our open bar. So we oblige and then find out that the bar is completely jammed packed and we had to sit / stand at the sushi bar in the lobby of the restaurant. All in all it was the worst experience ive ever had there and I will never be returning. do NOT go here. Beware!!

One of the worst experiences we have ever had. Made a reservation for 12 at 6pm. We had decided to do the highest party package, where you received two hours at the hibachi table with open bar. After ordering (which took far longer than necessary), our drinks took a long time to get to us, but the food was fired off at a rapid pace. We received our soup, salad, sushi, appetizers and entrees within 20 minutes of sitting down. There was no room for it all, and they were rushing us to finish. The second round of drinks then barely showed up, as our waitress would only come over for one at a time. She was unbelievably unprofessional as well. When we all had finished and still had 45 minutes left at the table, the manager came over and asked us to move because they had another party. They had overbooked the parties and that was why they shoved food down our throats. When we asked what we would be compensated for having to move when we paid for two hours, the manager laughed at us. He gave us a few extra drinks at the bar-which we couldnt even get because they had no bartender working. We had to walk through the restaurant with our huge scorpion bowls and perch up at the sushi bar, as there was nowhere else to sit. Then our bill was wrong on top of it. The staff was beyond rude, the experience was absolutely terrible and we will never be returning.

This is the second unfortunate time Ive ended up at this place. The first time the sushi had a parasite in it that looked like a big black dot. It went through all of the sashimi. This second time my father decided to take us out for christmas. I did not know this was where we were headed or id of had him make a better choice. The menu for a party is so confusing and full of typos that it made for a confusing evening. Apparently only some of the drinks that say they are included are included. Poor attitudes by all the parties that work there. This coupled with a waiter who barely spoke English made for a serious challenge. I hoped the 2 years between visits would of improved things but it didnt not. Place is cool inside but the experience once again was subpar. Honestly, it really was bad. Not a single person in our party of 12 enjoyed their visit. Sushi was inedible and we literally threw it all away.

Just dont... Ive been here twice the first time 4 years ago it was all around great but my recent trip just left a bad taste in my mouth the whole point of hibachis is to tastefully entertainment with fire and tricks, flying food and fun... That wasnt the case as they had 8 grills loaded with people and only 2 chefs that turned the whole experience into something similar to fast food.. the waitress was so bad we had to write down what we wanted because all other forms of communication failed... AFTER our rushed meal we were kicked out of our seats so they could ruin somebody elses dinner... They couldnt even get the bill right

Literally worst experience Ive ever had. We went with a group of 12 last night for my friends birthday. Not only did they not reserve enough seats and rush the whole process, they also asked us to move to the bar (where there were 4 seats) to finish our meals and drinks because they overbooked and had another party waiting to be seated. When we expressed our concerns the manager laughed at us. There was no compensation for the terrible experience we had nor an apology. This place should be shut down if you ask me. My friends and I will not be returning and Id advise you look elsewhere for hibachi in the area.
