Gluten Free pizza! They are tasty, but the crust was burnt. The waitress asked if I wanted another one cooked up even before I noticed. I declined since it had already been 40 min in a quite empty restaurant. She was courteous and attentive while we were dining. I had the house salad to start and was quite happy with how cold and crunchy the lettuce was in the the mix. The dressing was just as good. My husband had a wheat infested pizza. I say this in jest. Since we joke about how we have to scour menus online and call ahead to see if they offer Gluten free. So I call his wheat infested. He loved it and devoured it in no time. We each did save a slice of 2 for lunch the next day. Drinks: mulled wine! I had to have 2! If you love red wine, this is. A must have. If you dont like red wine this is still a must have. This drink is calling to me even now. Can I just say yum. The price was a touch high for the area. We may return for one more try at a non- burnt pizza. There are so many other gluten Free pizzas we can rely on. Side note: very nice bartender/wait staff, however the hostess seemed bored on this quiet day. She is the first person we see upon opening the door. A nice experience, however I have heard many stories of the Friday and Saturday night wait and service. We shall avoid that and we recommend you do as well.

Great vibe! Excellent Service. Tasty food. Sarah was our server this evening and was very attentive to my wife and I. She started us off with an artisan bread medley that was wonderful. Fresh baked sourdough, garlic, and a sweet and savory raisin bread. She gave us a few moments to enjoy our bread and view the simple and flavorful menu. My wife boasted that her calamari & hot peppers were some of the best that she had ever had. My steak sandwich on soft sourdough was nothing short of fantastic and cooked to perfection. Modern rock was playing in the background and added a fun flair to the overall atmosphere. The audio system sounded warm and full and yet, the volume was perfect for the setting allowing you to hold a conversation without straining to hear. Over all a wonderful dining experience this evening. Thank you to Sarah and the rest of the staff at First and Last Tavern for giving us a great dining experience. We will most definitely be back! Congratulations on your continued success and I wish you nothing but the best. Sincerely, Aaron DeMarest Pryme Tyme Entertainment

This is the third time I have eaten here. Food is not bad, and I didnt get a cafeteria feel. My HUGE complaint was about the service. We went for lunch and it wasnt that busy, just a few tables were occupied. Our waitress looked at us 5 times over a period of 15 minutes and never even came over to introduce herself, tell us specials, or take our drink orders. For the three business men that came in 10 minutes after us, she ran right over and started flirting for her tip. The hostess finally felt bad for us and took our drink orders (which she also brought), she brought us bread, and she took our lunch order. The waitress brought us our food later with no appology like nothing had happened. I heard her at the table behind me snottily telling a customer to move so she could serve the food. This girl should be fired!

On 11-12-13 myself and some friends ate dinner there. One of my friends ordered shells with meat sauce. We waited approximately 25 mins for the food. When the food arrived, the shells with meat sauce looked good and was, according to my friend. When the bill came, there was a charge for Bolegnese not shells with meat sauce. I called the waitress over and told her she should have explained to my friend that there is no shells with meat sauce available, instead of just charging her for the Bolagnese. The waitress said she would talk to the mgr. When she returned, she apologized and said she should have explained the menu better. There was no offer of a discount on the bill or a refund for that one dinner. The service was slow and inconsiderate. We will not return to the Plainville First and Last. R. L. Lewis

I have been going to First and Last in Middletown and Hartford for years. Those places are great. We decided to give this location a try last night. Terribly disappointed. The pizza didnt taste anything like what is offered at the other locations I have been to. The service was *very* slow (we got there at about 6:30 and left at about 8:15. To top that off, my wife slipped on a wet floor and no one seemed to care. Im not sure what is going on at that location. The service at the other locations is always good and the staff at those locations are very caring. In the future, I think Ill stick with the Hartford and Middletown First and Last Taverns and leave this one be.

Not at all the same quality of food they serve at the original restaurant on Maple Ave in Hartford. I had chicken in some sort of "broth" with peperoncini peppers in it and it tastes like bile. My Dad had the lasagna and said the Olive Gardens was much better, my step mom had the shrimp scampi which was nothing special and the prices were high compared to comparable restaurants in the area. Our server, who was a petite blonde young women, was wonderful which was the only bright spot in the entire experience. Ill never go back. Go to First and Last on Maple Ave in Hartford its WELL worth the drive!! This was just horrible.

My favorite pizza restaurant anywhere is First & Last Pizza in Hartford. I have tried to like their new restaurant in Plainville, but after four tries, I will never go back. There is no way this is the same pizza. The crust in Plainville is twice as thick, has no flavor, and they smother the pizza with cheese to try to mask all of their other flaws. Its not that the pizza is bad, it just doesnt compare to Hartfords, and would be average compared to any other local pizza. The restaurants acoustics make it challenging to have a conversation when they are busy. I still love their Hartford restaurant, but...

Very nice atmosphere with good food. Always great service as well. I look forward to the bread basket every time I come to First and Last Plainville (the raisin bread is the best!). My favorite meal is the chicken stemperata. At one point it was actually removed from the menu, but, thankfully, they brought it back. First and Last Plainville is great for a date night or a fancy night out with friends. Its also good for a casual lunch if youre in the area, but if you want to get the most out of your meal and your experience, go and sit down for dinner.

This is a nice place that is usually fairly quiet. In addition to pizza, this place offers an array of Italian dishes as well as some burgers. Overall the food here is good. I havent had any bad experiences. They offer a decent variety of draft beers including a couple local brews that rotate. The bar is average size and is fairly well populated with televisions. I would recommend this for a casual dinner with family or friends. They are pretty accommodating to all size groups and have a small banquet room for larger parties.
