Went here with my wife for New Years Eve. We couldnt believe how awful the bartender was. My wife asked for the strawberry shortcake martini, to which he replied, "Thats a drink for children." She then asked if he tried it and if its any good, to which he replied "I HAVENT HAD A DRINK IN 26 YEARS. BUT THATS WHEN THEY MADE MARTINIS WITH REAL ALCOHOL IN THEM." I ordered a bass ale that tasted more like a cider since it was so skunked. He then proceeded to stack a bunch of liquor and wine bottles in front of us while we were staring at him waiting for him to ask us for our order. Five minutes later, when our order still wasnt taken, he asked us why we havent put the bottles away yet. I just couldnt believe his bizarre behavior. We then decided to play a card game, trying to get our moods a bit better by not dwelling on the bartender. As he walked by he said, "You guys are killing me". That did it, we asked for our tab before our food arrived and asked for it to go. Upon looking at the tab, he completely missed putting in the order for my turkey club. We paid for our drinks and just left. On the way out to the car in the parking lot, we hear the bartender yelling at us, "You guys dont want your potato skins?!" He actually chased us out to ask us that. I can honestly say I will never, ever visit this restaurant again. I believe the bartender was actually the owner and now I wish him nothing but misery.

Wed like to report on the food but we did not have the opportunity. When making our reservation, I described our need for a quiet table because one of our guests has trouble hearing. I was assured that we would be in a small quiet dining room. Our party of six arrived last evening and was escorted to a table next to the bar. I explained that we had specifically reserved (and been guaranteed) a dining room table. We were told they were booked with a private party and we could either sit in the bar or outside. This would not work for our guests so we had to leave. I understand that mistakes happen and restaurants get overbooked. I dont understand the lack of empathy for our needs and their general attitude. We will not be going back.

We ate there for Thanksgiving and it was quite a disappointment. It was quite cold inside for openers. The appetizer choices were very few. The meal felt very rushed and impersonal. Its like these people took the quickest way out to serve Thanksgiving. Theres no way that turkey was real..more like a turkey loaf. I have never had a Thanksgiving dinner without a dinner roll. Could they spare the gravy and make a real mashed potato? It just was an extremely generic low quality Thanksgiving that was unmemorable.

First visit seated at dirty table where we were met by a trigger happy hostess armed with some noxious cleaning agent. Second visit they had their keg lines apparently crosseed giving a white beer for an ipa. When I eventually told the barmaid that I liked the beer but it was the wrong type she was insta-rude and said "did I want to see her pour it from the tap?!" Well anyone who cant distinguish a whitebeer from an ipa is not a very good bartender, and the rudeness was misplaced.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. The Victorian "Vic" House is a great place to go with family and friends. The bar features a fun and lively atmosphere where you can throw your peanut shells on the floor and listen to your favorite tunes from the jukebox. The dining room is a quieter dining area for more intimate meals. There is a huge patio which is perfect for great weather. There is karaoke every Saturday night which is a blast! The Victorian House can be enjoyed by all!

When doing a "breakfast near me" search on Google this restaurant was the first on the list. There is a chalk sandwich sign on the front lawn that says "we are open".. They were not open, the woman cleaning inside who did not speak English informed me they did not open until eleven (thank you Google Translate) this restaurant needs to get their act together concerning their signage and internet listings.

Always an incredible experience. The food is only exceeded by the service. This has to be the best restaurant in the area. I am always made to feel welcome in this family environment. I would like to give a special thanks to the manager Amy she continually goes above and beyond to make each visit memorable. As a repeat guest this is a MUST try to anyone looking for a place to really enjoy yourself.

Pretty fun and authentic place. The bar scene is definitely one of the most popular in this town. I never really went to it until I went on a date and he made reservations here; we ate in the dining area and it has a nice colonial feel to it. The food was not bad at all either - pretty fresh and definitely better than I had expected. All in all, cheap and acceptable; i had a nice date!

The staff is very sweet and its an interesting old Victorian house setting. Small town old man vibe. Would be great if they were a bit more fresh and modern, especially food that is non GMO or animal product free selections. Their red wines can taste like they have been open for a few days aka balsamicish taste.

Good place for prime rib. Has a private room for large reservation parties. The regular restaurant and bar has a waitress who has worked there for over twenty years but she seems she should retire (over 70 years old). She doesnt seem into the job anymore. Great food for an average price in CT

Always awesome! Servers are attentive, accommodating, and terrific!! Food is consistently excellent! Especially nice in cold months when fireplaces are on and in warm months the patio is lovely! A definite feel good place! And of course Amy adds to the ambience! Joyce Nitkin

Good service and food, even nearing closing. Surf and turf and full rack of ribs were both excellent. Garlic mashed with real potatos, and not overly potent. Casual, with good beer on tap. Tried it based on reviews and had an enjoyable dinner.

The meal we had was below standard for a restaurant. Steak came out almost raw when ordered medium rare, sent it back and I think they warmer it in a microwave the plate was hotter than the steak when it came back. I will not be going back there.

The Vic house is a small restaurant with a little porch in the back with a few tables, its very nice. The inside is absolutely beautiful, and a place everyone should check out.
