we went on a Tuesday night for dinner party of three with one child at 11 years of age told the hostess three adults and one child I could tell by looking at the place there was probably no childs menu but I would tell her ahead of time. Waitress was very nice and sweet but for the price you would never get me back there. The only steak on menu was 29.00 and only included vegetable and potato no salad for that price dessert should have been included. When I said something to waitress about how pricey it was she said the portions make up for it. My meal was suppose to be two boneless chops which was more like one chop cut in half it was good but not for the price. They do start you out with bread and plain olive oil which really was not good at all. They do have three things for kids but that is it. The girl was not even sure if they had hamburgers. Asked what ragout was since most of the dishes had this in it she didnt know. My Mom got veal caccitore which was chunks of veal like a stew over pasta she didnt even eat it. My boyfriend got veal saltimboca and it was shredded like hamburger meat and of course was very pricy he just had the same thing at diner in Wallingford for 1/2 the price and it came with salad and the works.

It was our favorite restaurant. It was. We had gone 2 or 3 times previously, and had good, great meals. Then we went Thanksgiving. Under doctors orders I had to go gluten free, and so no pumpkin pie, no dinner rolls, no bread. No fired calamari. My husband asked if the chef could cook the squid differently instead for me, and so it was poached, with the peppers, in a brine. They tasted....different. With a strange texture. I spat some out on my plate. But, our server Jill was fantastic, working very hard that day, and didnt want to add to her burden. We didnt send the squid back. I should have. I developed food poisoning. By the time we left the restaurant I was leaving my dinner in the parking lot. I was ill for 2 days. I didnt want to leave this review, I wrote to them the day after Thanksgiving, giving them time to respond to my request to assure me theyd do something about the squid in the menu. They never got back to me. So here is my review. Stay away from the squid. If you go, ask for Jill, shes a fantastic server.

We were at the restaurant for a birthday celebration Thursday June 22nd. A serious decline since we were last there in February. There were only 3 tables occupied in the diningroom. Now I know why. The restaurant is seriously overpriced both food and drinks. Specials were limited in quantity. When we ordered at 5 45 one was " sold out"? To charge 23 $ for pasta that was way too salty anyway without a salad is outrageous. The Bolognese arrived burned to the casserole dish. It was inedible and had to be sent back.Surf and Turf special was excellent as was the service[ the reasons it is not getting just one star]. However nobody will rush back any time soon. It is also a barroom with loud, boisterouss, intoxicated patrons. At 7 p.m. ? Really ?

Very disappointed, again. Selected one of their specials tonight. The Mahi Mahi with rice and asparagus for $27.00. The chef burnt the rice so substituted mashed potatoes and the asparagus was grilled to a crisp. Then to top that, the fish which was perfectly moist and tender was totally bland. My spouse got the house menu maple glazed pork chop. Delicious !! However, the sauted beans n carrot were almost thrown in the pond. The baked red potatoes were dry and over done. Wont be headed back.

We went there for our Easter afternoon meal, glad my wife found New Mill. I had a delicious Rack of Lamb with veggies and mint jelly ( I believe this is an Easter Special). Our server Michele was very friendly, gave good feedback on menue items when asked which helped in decision making. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Our favorite restaurant! A pricey menu but we tend to go there just for special occasions. We have loved every meal and the specials are usually things you would never think to put together but they somehow work and taste wonderful! I would recommend this place more for an adult night out (not so much intended for kids).

Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. The decor is warm and inviting, like eating in a log cabin..complete with fur places. Only thing disappointing was my post meal cappuccino. It was a bit watery and Ive had way better, but wasnt there for the coffee

Excellent food, we had a variety of meals, steak, tuna, pasta, all were great. They even let me combine the sausage/broclirabe appetizer with the cavatelli special. Service was fast and friendly and the bread was outstanding. Highly recommend
