I live nearby, and tried it when it first opened. Each place puts its own spin on the dishes so I expected something different even though I get the same thing no matter where I am. Chicken curry, medium-hot, naan, and sometimes gulab jamun or khir for dessert. Most places I go offer a single gulab jamun or a taste of the khir as a freebie after dinner. Zaika hasnt yet offered it free (though in their defense, I havent become a "regular" to the extent that I have been in other places, so it could be just that the other places give it to me free because they know me). The flavors were excellent, the naan couldve had a little more ghee coating the surface, but thats more a personal preference and no reflection on the quality. Service is great, efficient and attentive. Ambiance also excellent, though I would be neglectful if I didnt criticize their P/A system for incoming phone calls. It was a momentary distraction. The curry sauce is chunky with really good pieces of tomato, richly flavored, not too spicy but with a proper "bite" to it, just a touch on the salty side. The chicken is moist and flavorful. I really like the chutney and the sweet sauce they bring out with it. Their gulab jamuns are more "well-done" than Im used to, but they taste delicious in the simple syrup sauce. In all, Im always satisfied with my meal when I visit Zaika and its become my go-to not only because its convenient, but also because of quality service and quality food.

This is a great little restaurant, run by some of the warmest, most attentive staff around. My wife and i go there almost ever Sunday for brunch, which saves us having to haul off to Middletown or New Haven. The food is always tasty, plentiful, and varied. I get tired of chicken tikka massala, so its good to find a plenty of other dishes, such as chicken madras, chicken sag, and/or goat biryani, on offer.

Had buffet, was one of the worst Indian places. The food didnt taste like the Indian food. "Saag paneer" had no saag, tandoori chicken was tasteless and undercooked, the chicken in chicken Tikka masala was smelling bad, the rice in the kheer was not cooked, the sugar was not mixed in the kheer properly and there was no table cloth in a restaurant. Will never recommend it to anyone.

Their hours say until 10pm. But if you drive 15m from your hotel and get there at 9:15, they will not let you eat there if they are slow, only to go food. Which makes no sense when there are 2 servers sitting around. Since I didnt want to drive back 15m before eating, I did not get to try what reviews say might be good food.

Rating made it to 3 stars only because of good service... food is mediocre and majority of them not seasoned well enough... keep salt Shaker nearby. Theres not much variety, naan is very dry, mango lassee is sour and only plain rice is available. Below average Indian food, fails in comparison to other Indian restaurants.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Connecticut. The food is extremely fresh and tastes delicious. The service is is marvelous and very friendly. The decor is nice as well. It is also very clean and cozy. The price is also very affordable! I highly recommend indulging in this food! 5 stars!!!!

Excellent food and very attentive wait staff. Our family comes here often and people must not have discovered it because it should be a lot more crowded for the food quality and value offered. Buffet has great variety and a steal at $9.95!

The lunch buffet had a lot of different options that a vegetarian and meat eater would be happy with. Food had a lot of flavor and the staff seem very pleasant and nice. The unsweetened tea was delicious too. We are very happy.
