5.0 star rating 6/10/2017 The service here at Kampai never fails, as the wait staff and hostesses (and essentially everyone there) are friendly, welcoming, accommodating, attentive, and always approachable. The entire bar area has been recently redone in the past year or 2 and is very clean and modern. More renovations are to come! You are seated as soon as possible, and your water glass will never be empty. The mushroom soup is fresh and the broth is flavorful, the salad dressing is absolutely famous (and is available for purchase to take home!), and all the food is fresh and portions are generous. The cooks are friendly, funny, and talented, and by no means hold back on portions. Meals come with a type of protein (the possibilities and combinations are endless), fried or steamed white rice, noodles, shrimp flambé, sauteed vegetables, soup, and salad. The sushi upstairs is always fresh and delicious as well, made expertly and in the classic Japanese tradition. The care that they have towards their fish, avocado, sushi rice, sauces, etc. are above and beyond. Honestly, you cant go wrong with classic Japanese fare, as other hibachi restaurants that Ive been to have never made the cut. You get traditional, classic cuisine that is consistently delivered with quality. Other hibachi restaurants like 9 East in Branford just cant compare in my opinion. Would definitely recommend to others, family nights and date nights alike. Its enjoyable to anyone of any age. Note: if anyone at the table has a dietary restriction or an allergy or anything, they are really accommodating and will make sure that everyone is safe, happy, and well fed.

The portions are generous, and the flavor is unsurpassed any Hibachi restaurant I have ever dined. We have been coming monthly for over 11 years and its our favorite place to eat out! Ill even eat the shrimp here and dont eat seafood anywhere else, even at home. I have eaten at Hibachi all over the country including Epcot and local places like Sakura (not even close in quality). The food at Kampi will keep you coming back. Great Service, and Great chefs! The staff are attentive, especially Mary, and if your lucky Train will cook your meal. Enjoy Mike

Where to start, how about from someone who never eats fish like shrimp or medium rare meats this place is AMAZING! The staff was kind and funny, the food is the best I have had in years, the portion it out and pace it perfectly. Honestly I could gush about this for pages on end but I will be short and sweet go here! The pricing was good, the hibachi was entertaining, the food incredible, over all a grand experience that everyone should go have even if its only one time.

The sushi my wife and I just ate was delicious! We were looking for a sushi place near our hotel on the YP app and came across this gem of an establishment. As you walk in you will see a Koi pond nestled in next to the bar area. Beyond that is the Hibachi portion of the restaurant. We sat upstairs in a very intimate setting where we could see the chef prepare our sushi. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for Sushi near Branford/Milford CT.

Went for the first time one my birthday and it was alot of fun. The chef was very nice and we had a good show. Even though it was cheesey, they made newspaper party hats for the whole table. The food was good, the portions could have been bigger but it was decent.

We eat there probably twice a month. We usually go upstairs for sushi. "Bob" the sushi chef is great! Wonderful sushi at a great price. I recommend the salmon sushi, clear soup, green salad, American dream roll, Boston Roll. The plum wine is awesome!

My friend paid with her debit card that has the VISA/MASTERCARD logo on it. 4 Days later her entire checking and savings account was completly wiped out! Please warn your friends to be safe and dont let your debit cards leave your sight!

The Hibachi is really good and the cooks really know their trade well, make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. Get the bubblegum flavored Japanese soda it tasted weird but good and its a #lit bottle that it comes in

Looked good. Soon disappointed! One small problem. One HUGE problem! Found a piece if CARDBOARD in my chocolate ice cream. Although, chef was very nice. Also, the waitress forgot one of our rices.
