get ready for surly service and being rushed out the door if youre not ordering their high-priced items from menu, i.e. anybody not sitting in the hibachi section. Even though we ended up paying $20 per person for lunch, were still being treated like 2nd-class customers, and from what we saw of other customers in the dinner section, were not the only ones being treated badly. And the food? Worst "Japanese" food weve had for a $20 lunch. The soup was pure MSG with nothing but the thinnest slice of mushroom. The entrees were bland with tiny portions and served all together in a generic dinner plate just like what one would do at home. Talk about bad presentation! But worst of all was the "service" of the waiters/waitresses. All of them showed little patience and seemed only to want to rush you out the door once they sensed that youre not going to order anything more (even though the restaurant was more than half empty at the time). We had an infant with us and not once did any waiter/waitress try to come over to entertain him like in almost every other restaurant weve been to. On top of that, the waiters/waitresses bad-mouthed their customers in Chinese behind the customers back (we happen to understand Chinese). To sum up, one of the worst experiences weve had in a "Japanese" restaurant. Definitely NOT recommended.

I am really not one to complain about restaurants and write reviews but this place blew me away. We were seated, barely anyone in the restaurant, plenty of open seats..Not even 5 min after the food was served to us they were asking if we were finished. We told them no, continued eating and then they ask again. We say no again. Meanwhile 2 waitresses were standing right behind my husband and son staring at us as we eat. If we took a second to talk to each other they asked again. Feeling rushed, pushed out, and uncomfortable we paid for our check expecting a significant of cash left over handed back to us. They tried to keep $30 in change, and when we handed it back to us she held onto it staring at how much we were going to leave her for a tip. I was so disgusted with this retaurant. Their hibachi salad is so watery too. There are so many hibachi places around that I suggest you go to a different want to have a fun, peaceful, enjoyable time.

HORRIBLE Service... the girl was practically screaming at us, would not let us get in a word edgewise. We were a party of four at the Hibachi table, I ordered something and was told they would not serve me because it was a "kitchen" item. I couldnt even have what I wanted, what is the difference ? If it is ON the menu - It was not a special order it was ON the menu !! she was rude and every time we asked about something we were answered with a terse that is $1.00 more or $2.00 more whatever the case may be - very very rushed. NOT an enjoyable experience I do not recommend this place. First and last time there. If you are looking for a pleasurable experience I recommend Izumi Sushi and Hibachi Steak House we go there often and have never once had a bad experience. We were planning on enjoying our meal, having cocktails, appetizers and dessert and couldnt get out of there fast enough !

I have gone to this place about 7-8 times and is gradually getting worse. The phone was great thats why I even gave them a 2 star. The staff are so rude and rushed me through my meal. It seemed like they just wanted me to pay and leave. Before I could even Take 2 bites of my salad the next thing was being put on my table and I was being asked you done you done. All was aceptable until when I was leaving my bill was 70 dollars so I left a 10 dollar tip Dp to service. The waitress had the guts to tell me thats it after seeing how much I tipped her. First off I was very dissatisfied and dident need to tip but still did only to be told thats it. I will never go back to this place and have also told all my friends and family about my experience and they also have had bad ones. They are many more great places to eat locally so do your Selfs a favor and go some where else.

We had my daughters birthday here. She asked a few girls our cook was nasty got insulted and pouted when I asked him to do another trick for the girls. When I went to find the manager to tell him he was being nasty and had the nerve to start a fight with me telling me I was rude because I was insulting him. All I asked was for an onion to go on fire itss his job to put on a show. All they offered us was ice cream. I asked for the owners number left him several messages and never received a call back. We also had reservations and had to wait a long time. If I could give this place no stars I would. The food stunk to top it off. Dont go stay away they ruined my daughters 11th birthday and didnt even care!

I went to Nishiki with a friend of mine for the first time in November of 2016. We loved the simple and contemporary atmosphere, and the staff were very pleasant to us. Our soup and salad were delicious, although carrot ginger salad dressing and miss soup are difficult to get wrong. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, sadly, it did not seem very fresh, with a strong and distinct fishy taste. Our food was delicious, however my companion had a fly on her plate. The staff graciously replaced the dish, but her shrimp was not properly cleaned and the vein was still intact. Leaving her to clean the shrimp on her plate. Id like to think this was just a fluke bad experience, but we are hesitant to return.

I usually love this place! Last night was about the tenth time Ive gone there and food is always great. The service was also great. My husband and I sat on the dinning side on corner in the booth area by window. Halfway through out habachi filet dinner my husband noticed a cockroach traveling within the cushions!!!! It was absolutely disgusting. The waitress sent over the manager and we switched seats and got free dessert but we paid full price for everything including our wine! So after all said and done we paid about $85 for a dinner with a cockroach...we will NEVER go again. I have them 2 stars simply because food is always great and ambiance is chill but truly this is nasty!!!

I guess everyone has different experiences. I tried this place when they first opened- about a year and a half ago- and it was phenomenal! And the service was great too- they gave us so much free stuff and totally bent over backwards for us. (Granted the owner knew us because we used to be regulars at her previous restaurant in Patchogue) I havent been there since but I am shocked by what I am reading. Ill have to go back and try it again to see if anythings changed. To be honest though- if a restaurant closes at 10 and you show up at 9:30- thats pretty rude on the customers part... just sayin.
