This is probably one of the best sushi places Ive ever been to. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the slightly overbearing (while friendly) service, sometimes a bit less goes a long way. On our first visit we tried the seaweed salad and live scallop for starters. The salad was delicious, and the scallop was an interesting first for both of us (yet very steeply price at $9.95). We were there at lunch time, so we chose from the lunch rolls special menu (pick 2 or 3 different types for $8.95 or $10.95), which include a cup of miso soup and a small salad. Our choice for the rolls were: Spicy Crab, Salmon and Avocado, Tempura Chicken, Mango Avocado, Sweet Potato. It is hard to pick a favorite as all 5 different types were excellent, but we both loved the tempura chicken and the sweet potato. The presentation of the rolls was brilliant, and the flavors really stood for themselves. Theyre certainly serving up top quality ingredients. We also thought that it was rather good value, as all rolls consisted of 8 pieces (except the chicken - 5 larger pieces). So far, this has been the best sushi weve had in the greater New Haven area. I would highly recommend it!

This place is ok in general. Not horrible but not great either. However, sushi was below average. Basic of good sushi starts with perfect rice. Unfortunately, their rice was so wrong. I dont know where I should start: no seasoning, no consistency...well..cheap and low quality rice. It was so easy to tell texture of sushi was off. Next, I think one of the easiest way to find a good sushi place is ordering Tamago. It looks like simple/humble dish, but it is hard to get that perfect juicy, delicate, pastry-like texture. Wasabis tamago was dry and tough, mediocre may be the best thing i could say. for the last, actually, this is not a big deal, but I thought it was little funny that they do not serve real wasabi.

We were delighted to find Wasabi while visiting UNH. The service was excellent and friendly, and the sushi delicious. We enjoyed great appetizers; gyoza, salmon and crab cakes, and seaweed salad. The quality of the seafood was on par with some of the most high end sushi restaurants in NYC and San Fransisco that Ive experienced. Horse mackerel (Aji) was amazing, as was Red Dragon roll, Crispy Tuna and everything else we tried. Will definitely be back!

I’ve been eating regularly at Wasabi for quite some time now and the quality of food has been the same ever since I started dining here. The service is always fantastic. You’ll never wait long for your drink to be refilled or approach by a waiter to ask how the meal was. My favorite is the shrimp tempura roll with an order of a green salad. If you’re not a fan of seaweed, ask for soy paper (pink seaweed). 5 stars!

I agree with Jimmy. This is a reliable and high-quality sushi restaurant. Everything is excellent here. Its more expensive than a lot of other sushi places, but not by much, and its definitely worth every penny. The truth is that youll never get Japan-quality sushi and sashimi in the States; sorry! But this place is pretty good, all things considered.

Ordered two Philadelphia rolls and one mango roll, I woke up the next day vomiting, I should have known the salmon was bad because it had a funny taste but I figured maybe they just smoke it differently. And come to find out my friend went there and there was a maggot in her food. I cannot believe this place is still open and they have good reviews!

Hands down best sushi restaurant in CT. Service is warm friendly attentive and welcoming. Sushi is fresh, and tasty. I usually get a miso soup, edamame, a few special rolls, and have the fried banana for desert. I wash it all down with a house chardonnay. One of my favorite places to eat!

I seriously doubt if the other reviewers have any idea what good sushi is like. To me, the good quality is too normal and not real Japanese sushi at all. Its overpriced too! I would rather go to the sushi palace nearby which offer all-you-can-eat buffet. Its the same quality, literally.

Everything is fresh, service is good, prices are fair. The place is sort of a hole in the wall for decor but if youre going out to a classy dinner you shouldnt be going on the post road, lets get real. I have been quite a few times and have never been disappointed.

The food was delicious and they were very attentive to our needs. One of us knew how to use chop sticks, the other didnt and they had just what we needed. Its a best kept secret!

Momo has a better menu. Decor is much better in the past. Quality of fish is better than an place outside of Manhattan.
