FOUR STARS, But… We are repeat customers of Nara. This is the finest sushi bar anyone could ask for. Weve been to em all; no only here in the Springs but in Santa Fe, Phoenix, New York and LA. And, as former residents of San Francisco, I can tell ya we know sushi ! Hands down, Nara is on an equal par or even a notch higher than the best. So why not 5 stars?… THE BACKGROUND MUSIC! Why such a classic sushi bar has to stream grating, irritating, repetitive, nerve-rattling, fingernails-on-the-blackboard, distractive, electronic noise in the background is beyond reason! Please, earn that well deserved last star and offer background music that is fitting with your perfectly prepared food and wonderful atmosphere. Dont let irritating, unrecognizable noise compete with the food! Sakura would be a good place to start. Acoustical koto, shakuhachi flute and even erhu would overwhelmingly eclipse the invasive sound of the mind-jangling, reverberating cacophony that is currently thrust upon you when enjoying the best Japanese cuisine around. Or, you might want to offer ear plugs along with the complimentary chop sticks. WEll BE BACK

Sushi wasnt terrible but definitely not the best (go to Sushi Den in Denver if you want *the best* sushi). Poor rating is because I got charged $20 for near frozen toro (so cold it hurt my teeth), that was also pretty fishy (aka not fresh), the rice was super dry (literally sucked up the moisture in my mouth and stuck to the roof), and the miso soup was super, duper salty (nothing spectacular). Service was subpar, we ordered veggie tempura with shrimp but didnt get the shrimp until we asked why it was missing, table wasnt clean when we were sat, menu was covered in old sauces, serving wood block with sushi on it had old rice, and the toilet was broken (you had to stick your hand into the tank to flush). Only redeeming grace is that the rolls were huge and the salmon was fresh. This was supposed to be a date night but was pretty much ruined after seeing a ridiculous bill for subpar, standard fare sushi. Not to mention, hours later and my belly is still very unhappy with the food - Im definitely not looking forward to tomorrow. Save yourself the grief and money and go somewhere else tonight.

Really, really good! I was impressed with the quality of the food and will definitely be returning. My wife ordered the sashimi lunch special, and I the sushi lunch special which came with pretty good Miso soup and a very fresh salad of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers tossed with a ginger dressing. The portions were very satisfying at 15 dollars or so, each. This is not an upscale place, nor is it a dive; its clean, comfortable and unpretentious. It is in a little strip mall and there appears to be plenty of parking. The dining room was quiet and accommodating with a large bar in front of the sushi chef. The hostess and waitress were friendly and engaging. Booths and tables were roomy and comfortable. The mens room was very clean. Admittedly, this is the only sushi place I have visited in the CS area, but I lived in Ft Lauderdale for 18 years and have had a loooot of sushi.

Have read all the reviews, and agree completely! As sushi fans, my husband and son have been impressed with the deliciousness and freshness of the sushi. Theyve even taken on a personal challenge to try all the sushi choices and rolls (try the Garden of the Gods roll!). Weve also gotten Naras tempura and teriyaki choices. EXCELLENT!!! The tempura is very crispy and tasty and the teriyaki (both chicken and beef) are the best weve ever had. The exterior is unassuming, but the interior is clean, well-decorated, and spacious, and the staff are delightful. As a final testament, we tried Nara a week after they opened, and weve not let a week go by without going to or picking up from Nara Sushi since. SO glad theyre here!

Ive been here twice. The presentation is beautiful and every roll Ive tried has been amazing. I recommend siting at the sushi bar because those guys know whats up. Anyway, Both times, I had the same waitress. The first time, I wasnt in any hurry, and her lack of knowledge and attention was no big deal. This time, a month later, I had plans after dinner and her service became irksome. Shes polite and kind! She just...disappears for 45 minutes at a time and has no idea where she is. The other waitresses are happy to help in her absence! Very attentive! I will continue to come here! However, if you get the waitress with the Totoro tattoo on her right forearm and the fake red hair, sit somewhere else.

This place rocks! We work around the corner and for weeks watched as it was being built, the week it opened we started going for lunches. They are wonderful people and love what they do. Our Company reserved them for our Christmas party last year, and will be booking again this year it was an amazing experience!!! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. The sushi rolls are large and filling, the bento boxes are packed with food and the house made salad dressing is delicious. They are even good about some custom sushi roll orders, I for example cant have the fish due to an allergy so they have a few vegetarian rolls I can tweak to my liking. Truly great food and wonderful people!!

Never again! 1st- the place smelled like a pet store, it punches you in the nose 2nd- i got the sushi lunch ( 6 assorted pieces and a spicy tuna roll) 2 of the pieces were too tough to bite through, the salmon and tuna seemed like they had been sitting out for a few hours, and the spicy tuna roll would have been ok except for the fact that i had to have 3 glasses of water to finish the roll. It was the hottest spicy tuna roll Ive ever had. So, the ony good thing there was the miso soup.

Absolutely amazing presentation of sushi! Lobster Paradise Roll incredible - a must have. Six piece tuna sashimi is presented in a martini glass, as beautiful as delicious. Offer one saki, get another free (house saki) - Im not a huge saki lover but it was quite tasty. Staff very friendly, service great, nice staff that clearly enjoys their work. Our first visit, but we agreed it was at least a once a month date night - we enjoy sushi. Eel was great too. Highly recommend.

The night I proposed to my wife, we went and ate 100 euros worth of sushi. We lived in Germany at the time. The four year anniversary for the night I proposed, we ate at Nara sushi. It did not disappoint. Our waitress was very kind and professional. The food was just as on point. So delicious. We had 99 dollars worth of sushi. All in all we are super happy we chose Nara Sushi and grill to continue our tradition. I highly recommend this restaurant. Ill definitely be going back

Nara is the best sushi in the Springs that we have had so far. Our litmus test for sushi is Unagi and it is always fresh. My kid loves the Texas tower, gotta admit - its good. The presentation is always creative and the staff is also very attentive and knowledgeable. The sashimi is fresh and tasty. The rolls are great- not too much rice that plagues other sushi restaurants. Anyway, we have tried other spots closer to us, but its worth the drive down 24 to Nara for sure.
