Went here with the girlfriend to try the lunch buffet. She is vegan and had read about the other locations being vegan friendly, so we had been looking forward to this new location opening. Little India is where I would normally chose to eat Indian food, but I think I have a new favorite. I think I tried nearly every entree on the buffet. Everything was all seasoned excellently. With each new thing I tried I was waiting to be disappointed, but instead I just found myself wishing I had a larger stomach to cram more food into. Sounds like the selection is also rotating, so Im looking forward to what they might have for future visits. I dont know if we got special treatment (tried to visit before and left without eating; elaboration at bottom), but the service was also exceptional. The manager come out and talked to us, gave me samples of their beers that are brewed in house. The owner, who also is one of the chefs, made my girlfriend an additional vegan item to complement the buffet. We didnt make any requests, just asked which items were vegan. They were very accommodating. They make three types of chai, and I think you can get them cold or hot. I ordered a regular one, and it was awesome. Girlfriend went for the coconut (other option was soy). It was heavy coconut milk, like you might get out of a can of Thai Kitchen to use for cooking, as opposed to the watered down drinking kind, so that is something to be aware of, if you arent crazy about coconut. Hers could have been a little sweeter, so you might ask for sugar if you order a vegan one, cause they make it on the spot. *Our first visit ended with us going home without eating, because we were given the wrong information over the phone. I left a 1 star review then, because I had nothing to base the review on other than getting my time wasted. Im glad we had such a good follow up experience, because I felt guilty being one of two reviewers and leaving a bad review. The quality of the followup food and service really drove that guilt home.

Ate there Friday, May 1, 2015. Food was excellent!! FIVE STAR. Even the buffet was fresh and delicious, PLENTIFUL, if a bit under spiced but thats to be expected for buffet. You can order off the menu if you want the full Indian experience of hot, hot food. Delicious The only negative, which I would give a minus one star to, is the seating area we were placed in. When we go out to dine on a Friday night we do NOT want to sit in the staff break room!! It is unbelievable that this restaurant thinks this is an acceptable place to seat diners even without a reservation!!!! Yes, the food makes up for the piss poor ambiance of that room, but no thanks, dining out is for the quality of food, service, ambiance and company all put together. It would have been nicer to do take out and eat at home. The real dining room was lovely, this room was disgusting. We were in there with three other diners who felt the same. We were laughing and joking about what might have led the staff to relegate us all to this room. Closed off in a tiny room from the rest of the restaurant with staff mail shelves, the business computer, concrete looking dirty white walls and ugly flooring, 50s style dinette tables and no decor. The real dining room had beautiful lighting, marble type floor tiles, floral decor booths. Maybe a reservation would get us into the dining room, but it was almost entirely EMPTY the whole time we were there. Buffet was out there so I could see plenty of available seating for our entire visit as well as for the other three diners relegated to the isolated "staff break room" to eat dinner!

Only a candid review would do so in earnest and total frankness this place made me joyous about Indian cuisine on a buffet. Their vegetable korma was creamy well balanced nutty sweet and spiced, their sweet potato masala has its own sweet and spiced composition that made me come back for more three times, their lentils though actually spicy even for a meat eater that filled the spot where beef or chicken wouldve gone and secondary not nothing on the buffet is too spicy, their shikarni is a dessert Ive craved since the first time I went here, and last and strangely though good the most easy to live without the chicken tandooris and masala has flavor no doubt and I like it, but I could easily and am looking forward to eating solely their vegetarian fair and naan. Furthermore there wait staff is so overzealous theyve literally tried to refill my drink twice in a two minute span by two different waiters very concerned about our experience though we were extremely satisfied all smiles and in a laughing mood because I and my companions had this for lunch.

If youve been to the Arvada location and are excited for the same experience youre gonna be let down. Doesnt have the same ambiance, beer, or amazing chicken wings! Whats not to love about a Mexican wedding happening in the other room while youre choking down on Nepali food? Wait, where am I? Ah yes, Aurora. Why wouldnt there by an authentic Mexican wedding at a Nepali restaurant. We ordered a few different things and were disappointed with it all. We ordered a noodle dish, the tandoori chicken wings, and some naan. The "noodle" dish was spicy spaghetti with a conglomerate of chicken and bell peppers and ..did I mention the spaghetti noodles? Like 5 lbs of it. I was expecting the same amazing wings but out came a plate of regular chicken "wings." Moment of sadness. The yogurt sauce and chutney salsa made it all better. Sort of. Except the overall experience. Going back to Arvada and having a beer.

I really want to love Yak & Yeti. Weve been a few times. The food is pretty good and consistent. But the layout of this location is just odd. I know they inherited the layout and have done some nice things to upgrade and change it a bit. But the booths in the buffet room are cramped. The tables in the same are look cheap and the converted office in the back is not a proper dining room. The main event area is dominated by a huge ornate bar, and round banquet tables. Its an odd setup for regular dining. There is a large empty stage as well. Service is hit-or-miss. Ive been basically ignored by some servers. Other times, theyre on top of things. Overall, the food is tasty and prices reasonable. If you can handle the odd layout and feeling that everything is being done on the cheap, its not a bad place.

Have had multiple good to very good meals at the Yaki and Yeti, yet it is quite disappointing that the Yak and Yeti restaurant, at least at the Arvada location, does not recycle their cardboard, glass, plastics ect. Just check out their overflowing dumpster. Doesnt seem to flow with the holistic yoga that Yak and Yeti offers. The owner, Wr. Dol Bhattarai states he was raised in Syangja village, located in eastern Nepal. Per Wr. Dol Bhattarai, this is an area of scenic mountains, fresh air, and natural produce. It would be great if Wr. Dol Bhattarai would take into consideration that Denver and Colorado is a special place too, and that we as the local planetary citizens, should do our part to reduce our waste stream and consumption, by recycling and giving something back to our region and planet.
