If I could give zero stars, I would. Weve been here many times, and really enjoyed the food and service, but sometimes you get one experience that ruins its completely. Well, we just had that experience. First we were never offered a refill on chips. Then after giving our order, our server had to come back to verify what we ordered. After a longer than usual wait (still no offer to refill our chips unlike the table next to us) we get our food. Two meals served without sauce, and my wifes still missing. We are finally given our sauces on the side, and they give me the wrong sauce. My wife has to yell at the waiter as he walks off from another table and just glance over at us without asking if everything was out OK. He then mistakenly brings my sons order again and my wifes entree, still no sauce for me. My wife and I both have experience waiting tables. We know what its like to be in the weeds. You start making mistakes, you get your manager involved and let them rectify the situation before you make too many mistakes and anger the customer. We then eat our meals only to finally be approached by the manager Ann who said that we werent welcome there and the server was her best server who could run the place. With as many mistakes he made, I would highly doubt that. Weve never seen him there in the 15+ times weve been to the restaurant. Is the place under new management? Maybe, but if it is, the new management and server training are awful.

This is one of the best restaurants weve found in Colorado Springs hands down. Everything is always cooked fresh and made with the utmost care and attention. Justin (former Denver Bronco and local football legend) and his family make you feel at home the minute you walk in with warm smiles and joyful greetings. In fact, its more like walking into your friends house than a restaurant. One night my wife and I went there on our date night like we often do and sat at the bar. We like to do that at establishments we frequent to get to know the staff a little better and start off a relationship. Justin (the owner) just happened to be working behind the bar that night. Instantly we started into great conversation, which meandered through his and our lives. It was just a wonderful experience. Sharing a meal with someone can be a sacred and amazing experience and that was exactly the case here. Next... Margaritas. Theeeee best in town by a large margin. I know...a bold ststement, but if it gets you there to try a jalapeno cilantro marg or, one of our favorites, the Cadillac, then Ive done my duty and you will thank me later. Just dont forget to call a cab of you choose to try the "Walk Home". (Youll have to visit to unravel this riddle). All in all, not a better dining experience you could have in Colorado Springs or Manitou or anywhere else for that matter.

Our meal tonight was a disappointment on many levels. First, the food. The fish taco plates were mediocre at best. The beans were extremely bland and the rice tasted like the cheap yellow rice you buy at the grocery store, but with less seasoning! The service was extremely slow and inattentive. The hostess positioned a booster seat for our two-year-old that we assumed was strapped; it was not, and our baby fell on the tile floor and hurt his head. Management was not concerned and only provided an ice pack with a nonchallant comment that "this has never happened before." They also told us that the chairs were relatively new! The chairs were padded and should have never had a booster seat without straps positioned on them. The waitress or management never came back to the table to ask how the baby was, didnt refill our drinks, and they had the nerve to add a 20% gratuity on our check!!There were no words for how disappointed we were. I could not wait to leave this restaurant and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Justin A. I find it very disturbing that you would place blame on the customer for their poor experience in YOUR establishment. I have been in customer service for over 20 years and never once would I blame the customer for their experience. You are running a business, I understand that. If you want to successfully run your business may I suggest you reach out to these customers and offer suggestions on how YOU can improve their experience so they may come back to you again? But no, you rather take the liberal road and blame them, and call yourself perfect by justifying that your regulars are your important customers. Yes, people can be frustrating but once you begin having an attitude like you did towards a customer experience, your establishment will not last long. Word travels fast my friend, stay humble. And thank for making it easier for me to chose a different establishment.

Wish I could have given this place negative stars. Had the chicken burrito with the tomatillo sauce. Sauce was good but chicken was dried out and the "burrito" was only stuffed with meat and no other ingredients with flavor. The poppers ...well all I could taste was grease and undercooked peppers. I made it almost half way through my burrito and realized I was never going to get to the onions, sour cream, cheese, etc because none of that was in the "burrito", not to mention I also didnt touch the pinto beans and took one bite of the saffron rice. The waitress saw we didnt like the poppers because only two were missing. Wouldnt remove that or the burrito from the bill. Just argued with me and made it a point to be loud as she talked. Good thing Im on vacation because I would have enjoyed getting loud back. Just dont eat here. If like the taste of oil, order the poppers and dive in.

We met up as a family for my sisters birthday. We call ahead for a big party as instructed when we called monday and the party was on Friday. When we got there only half of us had arrived and about 5 min after we sat down we were told the if the rest of our guests didnt arrive at a certain time they would take are tables....the host and service were completely rude and pushy. Once the food arrived one of our kids burned his finger on his insanely hot plate. He now has a bluster popping up. When we said something all the server said was "I cant believe she didnt tell you the plate was hot". The food wasnt at all what we were told it would be. The rice was disgusting. Overall we were treated as more of an issue then as a huge paying party. Very very disappointed with this. Definitly not coming back.. no stars..

I recently moved to CO from the east coast, and have been on a quest to find authentic, tasty Mexican food. And the great thing about the internet is you can find the hidden gems as I did with this slightly off-the-beaten-path jewel. This is the best Ive found in the Colorado Springs area so far, having visited numerous others. The chef takes her menu seriously and spent much time honing her craft while in Mexico. The food is tasty, the staff attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere chill, including outdoor dining without the commotion of the main strip in Manitou. And if you like a good, non-diabetes-inducing dry margarita, try the skinny, made with actual real lime juice (imagine that). Yum-tastic!
