I have been coming to this restaurant since it first opened up. Their dim sum menu has improved since my first impression of it. It is certainly not the best, but it is consistent. However, service can be hit or miss. There are certain staff that definitely tell me to give this place five stars. However, other staff at this restaurant are rude. Here is an example of typical service. We arrived at the restaurant early, but were seated next to a large family who took up 3 tables. When food was coming out direction, all of the items that we wanted were taken. This happened for about 20 minutes. With no food in sight, we flagged down a wait staff in a suit. When we asked for a sheet to order food, he told us that they didnt use those anymore. No problem. We let him know that due to the large family, we werent getting any food. Immediately, he rudely told us that we werent getting food because we werent ordering from the servers carrying food out. However, aside from this person, the rest of the staff were helpful, responsive, and, in two cases, predicted what we wanted. I dont want to rank a place less for one bad egg, but this is what you can occasionally expect, and this is what detracts from a restaurant experience.

Argh, good dim sum is so hard to find in the Bay Area, much less great dim sum. Tai Wu is another just OK spot if Im craving dim sum. My usual orders are siu mai, lo bak gou (turnip cake), har gow (shrimp dumpling), lo ma gai (glutinous rice wrapped in lotus), and various sweets like red bean sesame balls, mango pudding, soft tofu in ginger sugar syrup, taro buns and egg custard buns. Tai Wu has all these in their repertoire but none of them really stands out. The wait for the dim sum items we ordered also took a while too. The new space is very open and clean, with high celings and sparkly chandeliers. Not a bad spot to take out-of-towners to so long as theyre not dim sum snobs or picky eaters. Note: Parking here is tricky because their lots are about a block or two down from the restaurant.

This is a good restaurant, food is good however, there is no concept of reservation. Typical Chinese mentality, no decency. I made a reservation on May 13 for May 14, 2016 at 7:00 pm. When reached there were no difference. We got the worst table with unprofessional service. Since my wife likes the food we spent more that US$250.00 for a party of four with no alcoholic drinks. There is a big competition in this locality Tai Wu management should think that professional service and quality food with reasonable price is the key to success otherwise customers can move to other places. My criticism is to see that the service is improved. Not to mention, compared to food charges are higher. Next time I may think to go to another Chinese Restaurant in the same area.

The food is actually fairly good, but I just do not understand how places like this stay afloat with the horrible service they have. We visited yesterday and had a bad time just getting the server to come by, but the worst was that the food we ordered never came out! We waited 45min for the last dish we ordered and finally gave up and left, still hungry. When we asked what happened they said that the kitchen missed our order, but even, it doesnt take 45mins to make fried rice.. Do not recommend.

Our first time visiting this restaurant. We went for a baby 1st birthday celebration. Our first impression, was WOW, the place is beautiful. It was a large party, so we were directed to the 3rd floor. Who would have known the place could seat that many people. There was 20 party tables which took half the room and still another half for their other guests. All the dishes that was served was tasty and delicious. Food gets 5 stars and finding parking gets 3 stars.

Dim sum wise, its probably not the best in the milbrae area but its much better than most south bay restaurants. I like to come here on weekends now because its the eaisest to find parking and also get a table. They have parking lot along el camino,. Their building has 3 stories so usually dont need to wait. Food: again, dim sum is decent. The dinner dishes are alright, a bit blend in flavor

Came here for a wedding banquet and had a good time. The food was good and plentiful. It cane out fairly quickly and tasted great. I especially the black child fish. I cant tell you about pricing. They have a deal with the burger king down the block for parking, do thats no problem. The main floor was a little tight for 12-15 tables but the also have upstairs area. I liked it there.

The place looks really nice from the outside, so we went in to try it. The service was not good as the waiters wouldnt pay much attention to you even when they were very busy. The food was greasy and they added way too much oil and sauces to it, even when I specifically asked them not to. Prices are pretty high for Chinese food compared to other restaurants in the area.

It is a new and big restaurant, however, food is not specially good. Dim sum is cold. People there is not helpful and rude. Attending wedding banquet there and the table arrangement is so tight and no room to walk. They have 3 parking lots, but small and difficult to find. Very hard to find parking there.

I dont like their customers services. The waitress force the customer to pay more than 15% tips for a few people. She also said this in front of everyone that we need to pay more tips to them. We are wondering that it is required by the government. She should get fired. She ruined restaurants reputation.

Went here for Chinese new years. The food was less than impressive, but still expensive in my opinion. Parking was terrible and difficult to find despite the restaurant only being partially filled. The upside, Ive never had to wait for a table and the restaurant is fairly upscale.

Food that is less than appealing and not to my satisfaction. Parking is a nightmare and the presence of this restaurant is often seen to be harassment to the local community. All around unfortunate.

Its just ok. Fairly authentic Chinese food but frequently mixes in amercanized varieties. For this type of Chinese restaurant prices is a bit high. Quality of the food is about 3.5 out of 5.

Pretty average dim sum restaurant. All the steamed dishes arent really that fresh. The skin tend to stick to the paper which is indication that its frozen and re-steamed.

We couldve had a great night but we came here instead. Food was overpriced, and mediocre. Service was too slow. Atmosphere saved it from two stars. Tea is bland.
