Although the Dim Sum here may be far from the best, its better than expected given that its in Belmont, and they still have the traditional carts rolling around in a time when many restaurants have switched to a menu system. Ha Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) - This is the dim sum staple. Skins were pretty bad. Thick and mushy, these were not the skins I was looking for. However, the stuffing wasnt bad. The shrimp was cooked well, and there was enough young bamboo mixed in to accentuate the shrimps natural sweetness. Siu Mai - Stuffing was too porky. It needed more shiitake and shrimp for a better balanced and bolder flavor. Overall taste wasnt bad though, and the texture was nice and tender. Good start, but it could use some refinement. Loh Bak Goh (Radish Cakes) - I like that they pan fried them at a station off to the side and served them fresh, but they didnt make them that well here. The cakes were too mushy and full of starchy filler. The texture should be smoother with more radish flavor. They also needed more Chinese cured meats and dried shrimp to make them richer and sweeter. Siu Lam Yok (Roast Pork Belly) - Flavor was good. I like that they brushed a thin layer of chee hou or hoisin sauce under the bellies before roasting which gave it a pleasant sweet flavor. The skin was nice and crispy as well. The main problem I had was that the pork belly was on the tough and dry side. Itll be stellar if they can fix that. Shrimp Balls - These were actually pretty good. Theyre usually deep fried with flat streaky batter chips protruding from the surface. The batter chips they use here were thinner than normal, and I like their lighter crisp. The shrimp paste stuffing was cooked well and was deliciously sweet and juicy. Fu Pei Guen (Fried Bean Curd Skin with Shrimp) - It seems like China Village handles deep fried shrimp items the best. The fried bean curd skin was light and crispy, and the shrimp stuffing was cooked well and not rubbery. I could do without some of the filler stuff like water chestnuts and cilantro, but the shrimp itself was still good. Dan Tat (Egg Tarts) - These were just ok. They dont make the egg tarts rich enough here. The crust was flaky but on the bland side. The egg custard was soft and smooth but needed more eggy richness. They kinda tasted like watered down egg tarts. All things considered, China Village isnt bad. Ill probably return in the near future since my friends live within walking distance. At least we know to order only fried shrimp stuff now.

If youre into dimsum, and not have to break the bank, they do dimsum right (daily for lunch). Excellent dimsum. Yet another fare I miss here in WA. Not easy to find, and more importantly, not easy to find good dimsum (so far). Its not just dimsum either - authentic Chinese cuisine. Ample parking, though this place is very popular so lot does get full. Weekend lunch dimsum simply means there will ALWAYS be a line and a wait.

The interior is very nice and shiny. The tables are covered in a clean tablecloth and you are given an unsquare pink cloth napkin that was folded interestingly, giving you something to do while your parents choose a dish. The food was delicious except for the rubbery blubbery seafood. At the end we got to read tea leaves. My fate is to get eaten by a velociraptor while trying to defend myself with a gun. Very insightful.

Good dim sum, which is available on weekdays too. Good Service. Heres the good to eat here... Great to eat here: Bamboo tofu skin wrap, ordered two! Turnip cake, if you get it ordered and hot (instead of from a cart). Any steamed shrimp based dumplings. Oxtail stew, omg! Better elsewhere: Steamed Rice rolls (better at cooking papa) Egg tarts Stuffed mushrooms. Bleh. Fried balls

5 Stars for Dim Sum, 3 stars for regular meals. The Dim Sum is outstanding and their specialty. There are several plates that they do (like turnip cake, chicken feet, soy sauce noodles) that are the best that I have ever had. On several occasions, I have driven from San Francisco to Belmont in order to have Dim Sum. It is that good.

I have only good memories connected with this place. Service is fantastic! Some of the stuff doesnt speak English, but whatever, overseers are keen to help, same as waiters. On our first visit we got some stuff free. Be it an accident or not, it was nice. Nice prices and great sesame balls

My goto spot from now on. Came here on two occasions: dim sum (lunch time) and dinner. Service was great and the restaurant was clean, unlike other chinese food places around the peninsula *ahem foster city cooking papa*. Food is better quality and decently priced too.

They have good variety of hongkong dimsum. I had the following... 凤爪, 奶黄包, 蛋撻 nice. 糯米鸡 is plain and 肠粉 skin is too thick to my liking. 豆花 lack of bean taste and texture. I will come here again to try the other dishes.

Fast, greasy, good-tasting morsels at a decent price. Service is not very friendly until you get to know the waitstaff a bit...but is almost always efficient. A good place for dim sum--especially for the peninsula.

Excellent taste! Modest price for the quality! Really good service and plenty of parking for a quick in/out for my take out orders! This food is better than Chinatown in SF! Really! Truly! YUP! HA!

This place has great and fast dim sum. Never waited for a table here. Lots of room for big groups. Only downside is the limited parking but there is street parking everywhere.

Our Lady server was a delight, friendly and accommodating. The only resto I know that serves dimsum all day. Will try other dishes next time. Highly recommended.

Pricey. Har gow had excellent filling but wrap was extremely thick. Shanghai dumplings were terrible, skin was rubbery, like it was a few days old.

Dimsum is decent but not great. However its a very popular restaurant. There are definitely better Chinese restaurants in the Belmont/San Mateo area.

Satisfied my craving for Chinese food. Place reminded me of old school Chinese restaurants in Manila. It was a bit dark and dirty but food was great!

We know this place as a Dim Sum restaurant. Parking is tight but some street parking available. Prices the same as most other Dim Sum restaurants.
