Unique options beyond your usual expectations of Chinese food. We went in for a post graduation dinner and there was very little people traffic around 4-5pm. Since it was my first time at this restaurant, my group and I did not really know what to order Hot and sour soup - Not hot enough, and maybe a bit too sour. It was not to my usual standard for hot and sour soup but not bad. Toothpick lamb - Good flavors that really suited the lamb pretty well, but more red chilis than meat pieces. I dont particularly like lamb but the meat wasnt as gamey as I expect lamb to be. Stir fry potatoes - Decent, oddly addictive for however plain it looked on the surface. Spicy shrimp pot - Not bad, but there was more red chilis than meat. Overall food wasnt that bad, but I wouldnt rush back to have this again, at least not repeat the same dishes. Dumplings and noodles looked pretty good in retrospect, but itll be a while before I want to go back.

This is real-deal Sichuan food, very convenient to the southeast side of campus. I recommend the sliced fish with pickled pepper, the spicy crispy fried chicken, and any of the traditional Sichuan dishes on the lunch specials (ma po, kung pao, double-cooked pork). The boiled beef in hot sauce lunch special is very good and a large portion, too. They can be really slow to bring to check, so its better to just go up to the register when youre done.

Nice and flavorful hot! Not just scorch your mouth. this stuff has spice, hotness and a numbing sensation in your mouth. Toothpick lamb was very good and a beautiful presentation over a ton of dried bright red chilis (you dont really eat the chilis unless you are into that. ). We also had a spicy fish soup that was hot and rockin! Would definitely go back.

Great Chinese food in Berkeley. Usually nice service. Most of the dishes are worth trying, and it is friendly even to those who dont eat spicy food. They have lunch special, convenient for a quick lunch. They usually prefer cash than card and give discount on cash.

Proper Sichuan spices! The menu doesnt make it clear which items have Sichuan peppercorns but if you ask the staff they are happy to recommend dishes. Been a while since Ive felt the buzz!

Cheap and gives a huge portion of food. $6.50 (cash) or $7.50 (card) for two items plus rice/noodles if you go here during lunch time. A nice deal especially for college students.

Rare authentic Sichuan cuisine, they nailed Tye KongPao dishes. But the chicken in my KouShuiJi is way overcooked and the flavor is too monotone for this dish.
