Loaded Fries ($8.50) is topped with your choice of meat, BBQ sauce, chipotle sour cream, salsa fresca, and shredded cheese. In this case, Texas-style brisket was the meat of choice. The brisket is meaty and beefy. The complex flavors and textures from the sweet & smoky BBQ sauce, gooey cheese, slightly spicy chipotle sour cream, and the refreshing salsa keep your mouth and taste buds happy-happy. The portion is large enough to share as an appetizer or side with a sandwich. Rating: 4.75/5 BBQ Parfait ($7.99) is an item that started at the farmers market with everything in a cup so attendees could eat and still shop. The presentation is fantastic and actually looks like a parfait or sundae. Layers of beef, mashed potatoes, and sauce artfully make a full meal in a cup. The mashed potatoes are creamy and dense. The brisket is more flavor forward on this item and really shines through with the BBQ sauce. This would be great with pulled pork too! Rating: 4.75/5 RW Burger is a 1/3 lb. beef patty topped with onions rings, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and BBQ sauce. It is an absolute behemoth of a burger. The flavor profile is reminiscent of a Western Bacon Cheeseburger, but much better. Grab some napkins ‘cuz this one’s a hot mess! Rating: 4/5

I was really jonesing for some bbq after my misadventure the other day when this came up under best bbq places in san diego. I was hesitant but I am so glad I came here. I literally only had 3 words the whole time I was eating OMG seriously and yum!!! I had the bbq parfait with spicy bbq sauce and the meat choices for me were chicken and beef. 9h wait it gets better they top it with this mustard sauce that is out of this world. Is mouth-gasm a word? Well it is now! Yes it was that good. Like dude seriously why is this not a thing?! I also got a small side of beans and they were so yummy! Good....good....so dang good! I will be back.

Sadly this place had a kitchen fire. Its has no reopening time and its my favorite bbq place anywhere in Cali. If and when it does reopen I highly recommend going here. The sauce is perfect and the meat is tender and juicy. It looks like a hole in the wall on the outside and thats usually when you know a place is great. The seating isnt to massive its more of a come and go kinda place. You wont regret trying this as your new bbq joint. Hopefully they reopen soon and hopefully this helps.

Without question my new favorite San Diego BBQ joint. Great value for the current pricing, 2 house sauces and few commercial sauces to chose from. I tried the Tri tip and pulled pork for my meats and the root beer bbq baked beans with original potato salad. Meats tender and delicious and lots of sauces to try with. Beans were much better than I expected since I was hesitant on the root beer part. bbq beans flavor with a hint of root beer. MUST TRY THIS PLACE OUT

Great food at a good price! I had the 1/2 rack of ribs and they were nice and tender. Cant wait to go back and try everything else! Went back and got a full rack and the brisket sandwich! Once again it was great food. Among the best ribs I have had. This place definitely has a good neighborhood type of feeling. The service is great. Will try to add pics when I go back. I am new in La Mesa and it is places like this that are making me feel more at home!

It almost a crime to add anything to the already so flavorful slow cooked smoked meats. Its also a complete shame if you dont try everyone one of the sauces with just about everything. How every you like your bbq, seperate and purist, or absolutly soaked in bbq sauce. This place is perfect! Fall off the bone ribs, such juicy tri tip, melt in your mouth corn bread. I dont see how anyone could say that they didnt like this place. Happy eating!

This place was about 10% of the reason we moved into this neighborhood. We had had it once when we lived closer to SDSU and were hooked! The loaded fries and the root beer baked beans are something you definitely need in your life ASAP. Theres even an extremely nice pub bar next door (called next door ;)) and you can eat there.

I got the tritip sandwich, and my brother got the ribs. Everything was very good, but I feel like the sauce may be a modified version of KC Masterpiece. I will be returning because it was very good, and they take phone orders.

I cant say enough about the brisket; its the best. If you do not give this bbq joint a Try you are missing out. Also recommended are the root beer baked beans and onion rings. On a date? The cowboy plate is plenty for two.

I had my date to eat at this place because we were craving for BBQ RIBS. Tell you what.... really really REALLY Good. Its a small place but no one cant beat a Friendly staff, hygiene and at affordable prices. A MUST TRY.

Took A little to long for us to get our food and the drinks werent cold . The food was some of the best bbq in san diego but with that said I havent liked any bbq in SD . If I crave bbq again I will be going there.
