I actually bypassed a few barbecue places to come here because of the reviews. I havent even tried the food and know I will never come here again. The customer service was crap. The girl (katelyn) was obviously not interested in being there and was impatient with the order. I ordered in less than three minutes but she was pretty pissy the whole time. If you dont want to work go home. if you work with the public try smiling. If its at a resturaunt try suggesting something on the menu if a customer seems a bit undecided between two options. There really wasnt a line so I have no idea what her problem was. The cashier was very pleasant, although she had no idea what to ring me up for because katelyn neglected to tell her. With that said katelyn was young and will probably grow up some day like we all did.

I met Coop when I went in to his restaurant in National City as the aroma of the BBQ attracted me when I rolled into the Shopping Center looking for a new place for lunch. The place is nicely appointed and they have a rustic look (as one would expect for a BBQ joint.) Coop suggested the pulled pork sandwich with fries and baked beans so I took him on his word. WOW! That was the best BBQ Ive had since being here in the San Diego area. Coop, hats off to you man, keep up the good work!

The Barbecue Pit is special. I havent found any other BBQ joint that uses the cut of beef this place does. Everywhere you go youll find brisket as the preferred beef cut for throwing in the smoker or pit. And I thoroughly enjoy a good brisket or some nice pulled pork. But you will find it a daunting task to find a juicier, more tender piece of beef coming out of any smoker or pit anywhere. Anywhere!

The workers are lazy and had convos between eachother. The food was cold and they kept all the meat together like the meat was pre-cut like the sausage and chicken was kept in a steel container together. The atmosphere was dirty. Tables nasty food made us feel sick. Just gross here!!! Save the 19$ all we ordered was a chicken combo and a sausage hot link combo.

Food is good... Customer service - rude! Brought my service dog, we were ordering to go. As it was at least it was vocalized unkindly by an employee. Might consider taking customer service classes! This place has been our family favorite since the 1970s. This place will even cook your Thanksgiving turkey and their open on Christmas too. The #10 is my item of choice with the fantastic baked beans that I add their delicious bar b queue sauce too. Also try dipping your Frys in the sauce.

This place is awesome. This place is way better than Phils barbecue when it comes to flavor, this place definitely have Southern Style flavor. This BBQ place is the Bomb. Will definitely come back. So far the best BBQ in San Diego.

Me and my dad go here a lot. Its usually a hit and miss here. Sometimes the meat is chewy and dry, other times its its tender and moist. The food quality isnt so bad either. Customer service is good. All in all we like this place.

Had to come to bring my son to the bar b que pit .. back after a long long time . Tried the #5 sampler. Son had the beef sandwich plate.. he loved It.. . The sauce was awesome. Very great food and good portions.

Been going here for many many years. I remember when sandwiches were less than a dollar a piece. Now the sandwiches are $5.95 each. They may be a little costly but worth the price.

Beef was dry. Pork ribs were hard to chew. BBQ sauce was just nasty. Spent $20 and left 3/4 of the food there. Beens were good. All in all just crappy food.
