Been going here for a couple of years and Its a great place to go. I usually take my family/friends who are visiting from out of town as well as going there a least 2-3 times a month, however last night was a bit awkward because I had 3 friends visiting from NY and it was quite obvious that our server was drunk. My friends made a comment and joked about me taking them to a trashy place because our server was wasted, she was nice but it was quite comical and really unprofessional. Quite honestly, this is not the first time shes waited on me and my guess and both times she appeared drunk. Not sure what the policy is at GG but it was quite uncomfortable having your server wasted. I normally dont give bad reviews to a local business but I wanted to add that the few times Ive been there another server by the name of Darlene or Darcy was quite rude and truly appeared to be racist. She treated my guest with disrespect and it really was obvious that she didnt care for minorities. This girl better get with the program and learn to treat every customer with respect because San Diego is a melting pot and a diverse cultural society so if your managers wont do anything about your attitude then we just wont patronize GG. Theres no room for your type.

I found Cafe Eleven in the Zagat Restaurant Reviews of San Diego. I just moved here a few weeks ago and have been using the Zagat as a guide. My husband and I took my father to this restaurant as we very much enjoy french food. Cafe Eleven had a pleasant atmosphere, there were about 5 other tables seated when we arrived. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. We all ordered their specials for $14.95, Almond Trout, Petite Lamb, Roasted Duckling. The bread was horrible, but dont let that scare you away from the quality of the food. The actual salads were also sub par, but the homemade dressings were tasty. The food was not even close to true French, however we all enjoyed our main entrees very much, and the potatoes were real, not instant as mentioned in another review. We all ordered dessert and were also impressed by the quality, clearly homemade daily. I would recommend this restaurant for the service, pleasant atmosphere and food quality if you order from the special menu of $14.95.

I came here for the Pride SheFest afterparty about 3 weeks ago. It was a great experience; Ill definitely be coming back! Im a straight girl and I decided to go alone and didnt know anyone there, but I had a great time regardless; I had no trouble making friends once I got there. Its not like a straight club - everybody gets in, you can wear whatever you want, you dont have to worry about someone spiking your drink if you leave it unattended or about being sexually harassed, it doesnt have a trashy/sleazy vibe, the venue/bathrooms are clean, the food tastes good, the music is good for the most part (I dont have to listen to any of that EDM crap all night), drunkenness/drug use arent rampant, fights never break out, the staff are very hospitable, etc. I felt safe there and was able to let loose and have fun. Im probably going to start hitting up this place every so often.

Gossip Grill is a simple, trendy bar, featuring a dance floor, smoking area and two bar areas. My friends and I tend to frequent Gossip, simply because a lot of LGBTQ people in our age end up here. The best times to come are 3-6, and on Wednesdays they do a BOGO deal on select beers and cocktails - an awesome bonus. This bar features some of my favorite bartenders (and security guards), and they make the best Disaronno Sours, as well as some drink that I dont even know the name of. Their alcohol is reasonably priced, and if you get there at the right times, theyre not too loud or packed. The only downside is at the wrong times, there can be so many people that you cant move - especially in the smoking area. Gossip is a nice bar to make a weekly visit to - reasonably priced drinks, cool staff and a relaxed atmosphere - as long as you go at the right times.

I had such a great happy hour experience here-and on a Saturday, no less. It was girls day out, so we were looking for a full days worth of drinking. Boy, did we find it here! During happy hour, they give out tokens per drink ordered thats good for another of the same kind of drink. My friends ordered two beers, so we got two tokens good for two drafts. BUT our amazing waitress let us order a mixed drink with one of the tokens. We also had the garlic fries, which was delicious (maybe only because we were drunk, though..). We ended up having such a great time there that we didnt really go anywhere else for the rest of the day. At the end, when we asked for our check, our waitress gave us all free shots AND she took one with us. This place was so much fun, and Id definitely come back again.

Gossip Grill is a staple in the community. In fact, when I made the move from San Francisco to San Diego, my prerequisite for finding an apartment was to have it within walking distance of this establishment. The bar tenders, specifically Frida and the occasions when Moe is in the house, will make you feel like youre the most important person in the place. Themed nights, great drinks, talented Djs, outside seating and a central spot in Hillcrest only support THE BEST AND ONLY lesbian bar in the area. Moe does a phenomenal job running the place, even winning the challenge on the episode of "Barmageddon," Gossip was featured on. They know their clientele, how to create a rich and fun atmosphere and while I miss their original, more intimate location, Ill always be drawn to Gossip Grill.

Great vibe, strong drinks, dance floor, and the friendliest wait staff. If you want a place with great drinks and a great atmosphere this is the place. Gossip Grill is half inside (dance floor) and half outside (fire pit lounge areas!) which is great so you can cool yourself off after working up a sweat on the dance floor, all without leaving! Meghan, our waitress, was spectacular even though the place was packed! If youre hungry and you are cool with bar food, then Gossip Grill has plenty of apps, burgers, salads and more to keep you going. Kitchen closes at 10pm so dont wait too long to order! Again, the drinks are strong, so make sure youve got plans to grab an Uber or a cab home! Cheers, -Brandon

It was my first time here so I wasnt sure what to expect. Cover is $2, not bad at all compared to other places. The interior is nice, the bathroom line takes forever though. Drinks are good and strong. I was channeling my inner Don Draper and ordered an Old Fashioned. I didnt know what to tell the bartender when she asked what kind of whiskey I wanted, so I told her to surprise me. Fortunately for me, it was her favorite drink and it came back super strong. Maybe too strong... I didnt try the food, so I cant speak much on that. Music selection changes a lot. Youre dancing to Taylor Swift one minute, then leaning back like a cholo the next.
