The view of the Yacht Harbor is excellent and relaxing. The bar staff is excellent. You can have a drink and appetizers and watch the shore birds hunt for their next meal and the kids learning to sail out of San Diego Yacht Club out in the channel. Wonderful! Under the previous Chef the food was traditional happy hour faire in the bar area and it was excellent. Everyone loved it. Recently, however, the Chef has been changed and I guess his goal and Bartells goal is to take all us "sailors" kicking and screaming begrudgingly into the new contemporary world of Nouvelle Cuisine and it does not work for me or anyone else I polled for this review. For example, the prior chicken wings were great and just what you would expect from chicken wings at any good bar. Now they are served sauted, not fried, and with an unpalatable sauce of yogurt and cilantro, ughh. Please go back to the traditional menu.

Well I have had one of the worst experiences here on my first time here in California let alone here at Blue Wave Bar and Grill. Theresa the bar tender was very rude and her cusyomer service skills are horrible if you are a regular customer. All i can say is I want service like Bob the fisherman on the island. Anyways in the process of her making my drinks she didnt even wash the blender top before fixing my drink. She clearly just dunked it in a tub of water and just placed it over ice and served it. All this was right before shift changed. So if you ask me I wouldnt suggest no one to go here unless you come in regularly!

Very romantic restaurant. My husband and i went here for our anniversary and we loved it. the food was good, not fabulous or anything, but it was pretty good. Its right on the water. Our table was by the window, we practically had the place to ourselves. our waiter was great. afterwards we walked along the pier. this is a great place to go if you want a romantic evening out without your kids. its fairly expensive, but you get what you pay for. its decently priced for a super nice restaurant!

This was one of the best lunch time places I have visited in San Diego. The service was very prompt, constant refills on beverages and friendly service. The food we ordered was well prepared and good tasting. The ahi tuna appetizer was done perfectly. My mahi mahi fish taco also very good. Other seafood entrees were also very well received by our party of three. Most relaxing setting,we could have stayed all day.

This restaurant was fantastic. The service from the waitress Justine was so good that we came back the very next night. We found the food to be amazing. The first night I had the short rib which was extremely tender and full of flavor. The next night I had a wonderful kobi beef burger with guac and bacon. I found the portions to be large and pricing to be reasonable.

Ate there for breakfast three times and once for dinner. The food for breakfast was outstanding and the dinner was delicious, as well, with something on the menu for everyone. The service from Jamey in particular was outstanding. I would highly recommend staying at the Island Palms and enjoying the restaurant while eating on the outside deck overlooking the marina.

It was an okay place for a quick bite. The staff was great, but the food was not all that. I enjoy a burger that isnt burnt to a crisp and fries that are actually cut by the cooking staff. Freezer bought burgers and fries just do not do it for me. The biggest plus was the staff, awesome job.

Food was horrendously over priced and the servings were miniscule. The veggies and the salads were all wilted and the food came out cold. Also had to ask for my drink 5 times before it came. Not at all what I would have expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Never coming back here.

Rude staff tried to quarantine us from the general population due to my support Chinese crested. The deck they offered to separate us to was dingy and gloomy. Skated from miles away to experience the place, what a crappy experience. Thanks for nothing.

attached to a hotel, this restaurant was way over-priced in my opinion. the view wasnt what we had hoped in reading the other reviews.....service was slow, atmosphere was very upscale, stuffy.

Food is mediocre quality, serving sizes are tiny. Prices are horrendously high.. as are the cocktail prices. I use their marina July of every year for a week, I uber elsewhere to eat and drink.

Food is not worth the price. Service is mediocre at best. The view is nice but thats about the best thing this place has to offer.

Found a hair in the food with a dirt particulate on it. The hair certainly did not originate from the upper body.

The fish n chips dish was great, but the roast beef was a disappointment. Nice scenery.
