A group of four gays arrived to the “Taquitos West Ave.” to order. In general the cooks took the order in a way that makes any customer feel disrespected; they received us as if we were the cause of their problems. The first person to order of the four was yelled at because he was speaking too softly. Once they took his order, they proceeded to make fun of him on how feminine he looks. The second person to order asked for a “roasted chile” in his order. One of the cooks said “you cannot get it, but I can give it to you” referring to the Mexican vulgar way to say dick/penis. After this, we spoke to the owner of the place who did not accept he was the owner of the place to avoid responsibility and mentioned, “the owner is a jerk just like them”. The customer service here is sexually harassing toward the gay community (LGBT) and even to those guys who are just feminine. We suggest you better serve the gay individuals and those who are not gay. This place only reflects the homophobic behavior in the cooks and the owner himself. Food taste was good.

We tried Taquitos on West Ave recently due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the advice of a food critic. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience with good, although not quite the best, tacos. Ill go ahead and tell it as I see it, humbly of course: these tacos arent quite at the same level as Taqueria Datapoint (first/original location on Datapoint) or Cascabel Mexican Patio. I simply find the tacos at these two places to be better and just as authentic. At Taquitos, we tried a number of tacos include the tripas, bistek, and al pastor. The tripas were tasty, but they were not crispy in all bites and pieces. Taqueria Datapoint excels in that when you order tripas, they are crispy all the way through. The bistek at Taquitos was quite good albeit a tad drier than I would expect and needing more flavor (lack of searing/browning left the flavors undeveloped). And finally, the al pastor was the best cut we tried. It was juicy and flavorful - a true delight. However, it was not seared correctly and lacking carmelization. Once again, I find it not even in the same league with Taqueria Datapoint mainly due to the lack of sear/carmelization. In short, Im not trying to be a hater, but while these tacos are quite good, I did not find them to be the best in town. Nevertheless, you cant go wrong with any cut you choose. Additionally, the price is right, the service is fast, and the atmosphere is unique making this a great place to get tacos. Still, my top 5 (in no particular order) Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants remain: 1) Taqueria Datapoint, 2) Ajuua, 3) Guallijos, 4) Cascabel Mexican Patio, and 5) Taqueria El Chilaquil

I am not privy to Taqueria culture so this was a bit of a learning experience for me since there are no instructions OR PRICES posted. You pay at the end of your meal, ordering everything a la carte until you are full. All tacos cost $1.30-something apiece, with tax it is just below a buck and a half. The tacos are about four to four and a half inches across and built on two thin corn tortillas. They are topped with raw onions and cilantro (premixed) and plated with sliced yucca root, sliced cucumber, lime chunks (half-wedges, so each is 1/8 of a lime), and grilled onions. The grilled onions were hard towards the edges, I felt more like I was working on biting the meat off of artichoke leaves. The Al Pastor was really good but the Suadero was plain in flavor and a tad dry. After we sat down with our tacos, we were brought two sauces, a red and a green. Neither was hot but they did have just enough heat for you to appreciate it. I mixed the two sauces together in small amounts on my tacos and really enjoy the flavor it added. I would not call this Tex Mex. It seems more authentic than that. These tacos reminded me of the tacos that I had when I was working down in Mexico City.

Their tacos are always delicious but depending on the guy who fixes your plate sometimes you get a great plate with all the trimmings and sometimes you get a skimmy plate, this pass Saturday I only got 2 slices of cucumbers and 2 slices of radishes, I had to wait over 5 mins for the server to come bring hot sauce and seemed shocked I didnt want a drink. Dude it was cold and sitting outside. Coffee would have been awesome but you dont serve it. Ed Perez the plates are $7 not $12 Dont know what else you ordered but plates for all taquitos are $7, their better than any taco trucks taquitos and you can mix or match tacos, one of each or 2 of one kind and 3 of another or any combination you want.

By far some of the worst customer service I have experienced on West Avenue. Even when I spoke to guys in their own language Spanish they were still rude acted like they did not know what I was asking for and then when I raise my voice and was more assertive than they made what I wanted with an attitude. When I got up to the register the manager had a very angry look on his face and stood with his back towards me most of time until he had to hand me my receipt and my food period Then when I asked him if I could get drinks he said oh yeah what do you want and if I could go and get it from the fridge myself. Like no go get it for me thats why Im paying
