We have been anxiously waiting for this place to open so we went in for dinner as soon as we found out they were open for business. I had the sushi deluxe and my husband had the sashimi deluxe. The sushi was excellent, super fresh, beautifully and very carefully prepared and presented to us in a timely manner. The portions were generous and price is competitive with other sushi places that we have eaten at. We finished our meal with the fried chocolate ice cream...excellent! The wait staff was very attentive and efficient. The restaurant itself is very beautiful on the inside. There is a sushi/bar side and an hibachi side. The interior space is very serene and comforting. Very nicely decorated. My sister and her husband were there the day before we went and they too, had a wonderful meal. We highly recommend this place if you like sushi and Japanese food!

We live near Ichiban - and had been waiting for it to open since it is much closer than our other alternative for Sushi which was Sagano in Flint. Weve eaten there twice now in the past 2 weeks since it opened, and have been very impressed by the quality of food (both Sushi and other menu items). Food is very fresh, very well prepared, and without a doubt beats any competition in the Flint/Grand Blanc area for Japanese food. I really hope they stick around and do well - they are hard to see from the street so they need to do some advertising!

Was told we could use the groupon for lunch during dinner, asked specifically twice over the phone, when we arrived we were told no way and that it mustve been my girlfriends mistake. Didnt start off on a good foot calling us liars...California roll was dry, wasnt rolled very well, egg drop soup and salad were good though. Teriyaki Chicken dinner was a little overcooked and the rice was very dry. Overall it wasnt what I expected for the price at all. Shouldve went to Sagano (or to Kroger in Davison for their sushi). Cant say Ill be back.

Me and my fiance go here because to be honest, there is a serious lack of Japanese restaurants around the Flint area. With that being said, Ichiban has pretty good sushi. Not amazing, but it is good enough to fulfill that sushi craving that pops up randomly. The lunch specials are great too. The service could be better. The waitresses are quiet and kind of awkward when you talk to them. Im sure that has to do with language barriers. But for those of you looking for sushi in the Flint area, Ichiban is definitely your best option!

Not everyone can be flexible about their sushi, so I understand not everyone can do what I did: tonight I called and asked for the best they had to offer for $50. Let me tell you, it was an impressive spread, with some of the most beautiful rolls Ive ever seen (and Ive eaten sushi for over 20 years now). We even had plenty of great choices for my vegetarian dining companion. High quality ingredients, beautiful presentation. Loved it and will go back for sure!

The food was absolutely disgusting!!! The rice tasted like cheap to go Chinese fried rice. Everything lacked flavor, chef was not really into the meal prep. Plus me and my friend both got very sick after eating there. We ordered sushi and it was not even made as stated on the menu. I should have known by how dead the place was that itd be a joke!!! It certainly cannot compare to Sagano. Dont waste your money here!!!

Was not quite what i was expecting but the chef tried to keep us entertained and my self and family all enjoyed our food! The restaurant is quite small and im not so sure i like sharing elbow space with strangers... When we payed using Groupon the owner was called out and was not happy about our discount and made that quite clear! I would say Ill be back but no guarantees!

If you like the hibachi concept, then i say give this place a try, comparing it to saganos hibachi i say wouldnt be fair. I found things i like better at one over the other, and prices at least for dinner are near each other, it was entertaining for our children, and us adults. It wasnt a busy night, but service was quick, and our drinks stayed full.

I am a regular there. Both the hibachi and sushi are fantastic. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The owner is always present and really seems to care about how his patrons are enjoying the experience! This is my favorite Grand Blanc restaurant, hands down!

Good tempura cheesecake. Good salmon sashimi. Not fond of Hawaiian roll. Good sweetheart roll. Decent sakura roll and fish quality overall. Rice quality 4/10 though. Great service. Amazing sushi presentation. Awesomely cozy atmosphere.

I havent eaten there yet, but I stopped in and picked up a take-out menu and I must say the interior looks fantastic. If the food is given the same amount of care then this restaurant should be a great addition to our locale

Will not return. Im not a complainer but service was absolutely non-existent. Sushi was sub par and my dinner came out luke warm at best. Just looking around the restaurant, most other customers seemed upset as well.

A great place for sushi and Japanese style cuisine. They are much better the sagonos on linden road by far regarding quality and price. Quieter and much more romantic. This is an underappreciated gem of better dining.

Service was consistently slow. Tried them a couple of times to see if it was just an off night, but had no luck getting better service. The food was good, but nothing like Sagano.

Super fun and not as busy as other Japanese restaurants in the area. Great bar area. Be sure to check out Groupon as they are often featured.

Pretty good food. Only doing 3 stars because steak was bland, and rice fell apart on sushi. Overall good clean place, pretty good food.
