For the quality, this place cost twice as much. We spent $115 for two, food only, and it was similar quality to a $50 Japanese meal. While the omokase is good, it cost $50 for 10 pieces of fish, and the fish type is generic like red snapper, rather than premium fish. The tuna piece was stringy. At $5 a piece we expected more. Everything else we ordered were average and below average especially if you consider the price. We ordered the grilled squid, the agetashi tofu, the grilled corn, the cigar roll which we returned, the fried Trio with duck, steak and shrimp, which was good but not great. The beef was not tender. Service was okay. Friendly enough, and also took back the cigar roll when we complained that it tastes fishy. However it did not live up to the standard of their price range. We did not order any rolls, and those were at $15 each and might have been okay. But were not going to come back to this place.

A friend took me here as a treat, and I have to say Im pretty impressed. My review is for the sushi only. I dont like scallop but my friend persuaded me to try the live scallop and I found that I did like it. It had a nice buttery texture. We also got the blue fin tuna which I was disappointed in, it had a salt water taste to it that over powered the fish(thats just my personal take). Sashimi was in the traditional artistic style and very good. The wasabi was a combination for powdered and grated which made it extra yummy. Didnt try anything else on the menu that night but my interest is peaked enough that I want to go back and write an update once my friend takes me back there!

Food: 3 Decor: 4 Service: 2 Came here with a party of 4 for dinner 7:30pm Thursday. 1. Fish tacos, 10 Pretty good. Nice balance of avocado, salsa, albacore, and salmon, although it was a bit awkward to eat. Comes in two servings. 2. Salmon carpaccio, 13 Pretty good, although I think the hamachi would have been better. 3. Rainbow roll, 13 Okay. 4. Crunchy spicy tuna roll, 11 Okay. Wasnt that spicy. 5. Nankotsu Karaage, 8 Okay, although I wouldnt get it again. Friends didnt like the cartilage texture. Service was disappointing. Our water was never filled, and I had to request water before our server brought over a bottle for our table.

Fresh seasonal fish and very friendly service. Dined here a few times. Definitely my favorite sushi place in the peninsula. Great for date nights or just hanging out with friends. Definitely a must try if you know your Japanese food (or would like to learn). Edit- 05/21/17 Came here a few more times since my review and it has only gotten better! Their seasonal menu is well thought out not like most sushi restaurants that have seasonal menus. The amount of thought and work and love that goes into each dish is amazing; every bite is a burst of balanced flavor.

Seiya has an upscale, romantic atmosphere and solid service. The sushi is above average and definitely satisfied our cravings. We ordered 12 piece Nigiri and a couple of rolls. I didnt consider the nigiri to be very memorable, but some of the other dishes were surprisingly good. The seared beef roll in particular was really great. The seating here is very limited and feels a bit crammed. There are a number of tables awkwardly placed by the front door, which is a bit distracting for both people coming into the restaurant and for guests sitting at those tables.

The food is excellent and the Chef who is the owner is very nice and uses the freshest and organic ingredients. It is my favorite Sushi place in Pennindula. This is a place that I go with 100% confidence in quality. Very nice interior decoration and great service. I dont have to go to the Sebo sushi restaurant in the city any more. I highly recommend to people who are seeking healthy food and great quality.

First time dining and was pleased with the atmosphere and setting. The nigiri was fresh and the tempura was excellent. Loved the selection of veggies. Both rolls were warm just fyi. So I had to finish the spicy tuna hand roll. Had two carafes of sake which was smooth and fruity. Will be back

Very good presentation Yellowtail belly fresh and tasty, sliced a bit thin Good cold sake selection Yellowtail sashimi Spicy Hulk roll Spider roll $40 As I was on a business trip and asked to separate the sake from my check. They did so without hesitation.

The food quality and prices are OK, but the service is an absolute disaster. We arrived on time and our table was not ready. After 15 minutes waiting they assigned us a different table. To complete the mess, they gave our order to the table next to us...

Our kimchi came out of a large can that looked like it was from Costco. Also, I was expecting proper size roles for $15-$20, but they are about half the size of anywhere else. I guess you pay extra for the trendy atmosphere? Who knows.

Great food and atmosphere. Pretty standard prices for good Japanese food. Went for dinner and wife asked the chef to prepare chirashi even though its a lunch item only. The chef obliged and made her a special chirashi.

Server were friendly, the food was pretty good. The bar space was a bit crowded though but I like to see the chef making our food.
