Good food but the manager Mike is very unprofessional. We order from this place frequently and spend at least $ 80 on breakfast every time. Today we placed our breakfast orders and the normal items of home fries and toast were missing. I personally called so that they can fix the issue and was instead met with resistance by an argumentative Manager in MIKE that mentioned that when we order we have to mention the home fries and toast. I then proceeded to tell him we have never had this issue before and instead of MIKE helping out, he became very defensive and tried to place the blame on us. So I asked him a fair question and said to him, when you order a a slice of pizza do you mention to the person to not forget the bread cheese and sauce ? His response was more of reflection of his lack of courtesy and professionalism as he continued to make it seem that it was our fault. In any event, he as the manager should have handled this the right way and instead didnt. Truly disappointed by this. They surely lost this customer if it matters to them.

Brendan Bloom · 3 minutes ago Once where the Olympia diner stood, found on the side of US 1 in Elizabeth, now stands Urban Griddle. Totally renovated and having opened its doors not too long ago, its caused quite a stir in town. Known as a rustic, hip, breakfast and brunch locale, its really the only one of its kind in Elizabeth. Urban Griddle has an eclectic menu with inventive and creative spins on breakfast and brunch items. Things such as waffle sliders with chicken sausage, candied bacon, maple pork belly and grit cakes, matcha and cake batter pancakes, or even "Jersey" egg rolls with taylor ham, egg, and cheese. They also serve breakfast cocktails as well such as blood marys with bacon or alcholic cold brews, and more. It is easily the most successful breakfast/lunch spot in town, as it has its own parking lot and generally is packed during peak hours.

I am disgusted and appalled ......that I have not tried this place sooner. Jersey is known for diners but this place is really on a whole another level its a step pass a traditional breakfast, they really take unique flavors and bring it together for e.g. Jersey Rolls....to take taylor ham, egg and cheese and fry it in an egg roll....genius! Candied bacon.....of course! Lol then I guess they have different specials daily, I had grit cakes with pork belly which was close to perfect I must say. They even had vegan, vegterarian , gluten free options as well which is nice because they really have a menu for everyone. This place is definitely a foodie must, it really gives out of town or an out of state vibe! Limited hours and they are very busy but I will be back, looking forward to trying their lunch items.

The service was not good. The waitresses were friendly but just didnt do their job. No one took my order. No one got my check. I had to literally get up and find someone at the back of the restaurant to get my check. Even then it never came. The manager just rung it up on the fly at the exit. I ordered a a club sandwich. The sandwich was terrible. The french fries you can tell were old and just refried. The coffee even worse. In front me of the senior waitress was explaining to the younger waitress how not to waste the old coffee when making a new pot even if its been there for hours. They also decided to mop the floors with a really smelly cleaner just as the food was coming out. Never going back.

The owner is a great man. A few years ago my family and I were on a road trip in our RV. It was getting late and we had not found a place to stay for the night; he let us park out back. THANK YOU. Ate dinner there . . . oh boy what a meal. Each of the four of us ordered something different. Full menu to choose from and everybody was happy with the selections. Quality and taste was excellent. Serving sizes where large. Came back later that night for dessert, Yummy!!! Next morning we came back in and ordered breakfast. Nothing like a full belly of delicious food before hitting the road again. Hope to stop by again and have another meal (time to try lunch there). Thanks again. KS

I work in the area. I remember when it was the Olympus Diner. I was not a big fan. Now, its reopened under NEW management, I believe. The Urban Griddle it is. The place inside is beautiful, very retro. The service was Amazing, and the food was even more Amazing. Wow...iI cannot wait to go back. My new place to bring friends and family. The owner waited on me, as well as the other tables, until his crew started to arrive. Not sure of his name, but so attentive and polite. Not rude , like some places I know. Go you will love it!

I love eating here because its not your typical diner menu. With selections like avocado toast, matcha pancakes, and kale omelette with cage free eggs- its safe to call it a hipster heaven but theres something for everyone. You will still find some classics like a Reuben sandwich and burgers but with a yummy twist. My picky 6yr old loves the cake batter pancakes! Service is also good and owner is cool. Come early because they close at 3pm. Perfect brunch spot and they have mimosas along with some other creative cocktails.

Stopped here on the way to the airport and I was pleasantly surprised with the decor and atmosphere. The food was fantastic too! I ordered the Taylor Ham (Pork Roll) Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich with a side of homefries. The sandwich was great and they didnt skimp on the Pork Roll. The home fries were deliciously seasoned and paired well with the sandwich. The bill was much less than expected as well making this one of the most affordable and excellent diners Ive been to.

Close to Staten Island, which is in dire need of a decent brunch place, and delicious I may add! Theyre super up to date on all of the trendy foods and drinks - they have a huge bar, which offers some unique drinks! Im so glad they also offer green tea lattes & chai tea lattes as most places dont and those are my boyfriend & Is favorite hot drinks. The food is good and the prices cannot be beat. Right over the Goethals Bridge, so good.

Amazing meal! As a "Certified Foodie" I have to say this place is without a doubt worthy of a 5/5 rating. The cold brew iced coffee is as good as youd find at Starbucks or any upscale coffee house,. Corned beef hash was out of this world and the buffalo chicken omelette was like nothing Ive ever had before. Not too spicy, flavorful and chessy deliciousness! Great ambiance for a breakfast spot and I look forward to a return visit.
