I went here with my finacee for the first time... and will NEVER go back. Problems started with her beer being flat, mine was fine. Then we ordered some food. It literally came out in 4 minutes which raised a huge red flag. The calamari was not even hot or crunchy. it was soggy and flavorless and rubbery. The worst I have ever had. Then the Nachos came. They looked alright though some of the edges of the chips were burnt like they had heated it under a broiler, but as we started in on them I noticed that the cheese in some places was not even melted and then dicoverd that they were FROZEN in the middle! How is this even possible? its not that hard to put a fresh order of nachos together! So we sent them back to get a new order of them. Our fault...we are stupid...the second order was ALSO FROZEN in the middle. Horrible horrible horrible. Never ever returning and will tell our friends.

We stopped in for some food and drinks with an 8 person party. They wouldnt split up our check, because "it would take too much time and wouldnt be fair to the other guests". We then had to all stand around calculating our costs, and calculating the included 18% gratuity on each order, while he stood there dealing with it. I dont see how any time was saved. At the end, due to some of our party miscalculating their tip, we had to waste more time correcting the mistake. We are in the technology age. Not splitting tickets is asinine and lazy. I will never return to a restaurant that doesnt provide this basic service.

This is one of those hit or miss places. You know it, when hotel concierge convinced their guest arriving late check-in to go. As far as food goes, I wont do it here. For drinks, its great. Sometimes they do weekly events, but mostly charity cause. Staff are somewhat just alright, not as friendly as you want them to be. Counter bar to your left upon entering sits six at most, but service lacks so bad, you want to just walk out. A glass of wine, salad, app total $36 without tip yet. Later to find out why food so mediocre? Smart & Final is less than a 100ft away. Now I know whats happening.

You are not going to come here for the food as it doesnt get beyond covering the bases, but the beer is good and sometimes great. Theyve been here for ever and are one of the places I like to go catch a sporting event when a Bay Area team is in the playoffs because its a slightly older crowd and has less of the bandwagon fans. The Statesman beer which was made for a retiring beer keep is still one of the better beers Ive had here, but also enjoy the Blue Whale and Killer Whale Stout.

The house-brewed beers are excellent, and the rotating taps offer a good variety from around California. My only complaint, and this is an industry-wide complaint, not one I can leverage specifically against Pacific Coast Brewing is that the price of food is pretty steep. Its a great place to pop in for a few pints. We usually have a couple beers and then bounce down to Chinatown for some cheap food. If you want some good beer served by people who know beer, this is your place.

I feel this place is underrated! What a cool place - massive seating areas inside with a nice loooong bar which I love :) The bartender lady was super friendly and an amazing host! We enjoyed our beers for the night along with some spicy chicken wings! Dayum! Very neat place with clean bathrooms. Totally recommend if youre just up for some drinks and food or want to do to Oakland Trail Ale (ask the bartender for the passport).

The Pac Coast Brewing Co is an Oakland institution- need a place to get a great beer, check out the game, or just have some good company? Head down. Theres a bunch of reviews here bitching about the food, but lets face it: this is a brewpub primarily, not a restaurant... go for the beer! They have a great brewlist and their own beers are good as well. Def worth checking out- love this place!

Pacific Coast Brewing offers generally decent good food. But their Sheps Pie has gone downhill from a previous visit, Stout beer float was awful bitter brew compared to the first time which was surprisingly delicious. Pulled pork quesadilla was excellent. Mediterranean Lamb Burger informed to be somewhat spicy but I ordered it anyway, not spicy to me and and I have a low threshold, delicious.

The beer was good but not a great selection. The service was awful.the waitress was inefficient, we had to keep reminding her to bring water and the check. The food was good but my boyfriend received his meal cold and another friend had to wait an extra 10 minutes to get his food. For a Saturday night that wasnt very busy, I expected better.

I can here years ago and the food was pretty horrid. My friends wanted to come here so I gave it another chance. I got their carnitas tacos, not bad but it needed more of a punch with their salsa. Service was ok, food came fairly quick. On a nice day go sit out in the patio. We sat inside it was pretty empty .

The beer is drinkable but dont go out of your way for this place. I had some fish and chips and they were the worst I ever had, just awful. Over cooked on the outside and mushy inside. The only redeeming thing about this place is this, if you want just a bar that happens to serve their own suds then stop by.

Nice large building, with a casual atmosphere and good service. The food is good enough, as is their own beer (even though Id expect a little better for this being a "brewery"). Overall, a consistent and easy choice when wandering though Old Oakland.

5 stars for service, very fast and friendly. 4 stars for beer, good variety, tasty. 3 stars for food, bland and generic. Dont come here for food. Come here after already eating for the good drinks and great service.

I tend not to like brew pub food to begin with, but was hoping for an exception. The food was boringly unoriginal, and the complete lack of vegetarian options was therefore even worse than normal.

I liked PCB. The food is good and the beer selection is all-encompasing. Seriously, everything from Pliny to Old Guardian, to Racer 5. They even have Blind Pig. Their beers are pretty good too.

Repeated terrible service with NO apologies. Kitchen is constantly backed up. Serves burned food and tiny portions. Only thing that could bring me back is the liquor selection.

The pork sliders were cold and soggy, the sweet potato fries were distinctly average as were the chicken wings. There are far better places on the area worth visiting than this.

Relentless attention to quality rotating beers on tap, and a new found attention to food quality and reinvention, served by down to earth/relatable staff change my 4 to a 5 star.

This place smells like a bar! They have an impressive choice of beers and the food is good. I try to go there every time I have an event at the convention center.

Old school brewpub. Their own brews are tasty. They change them up regularly. They have a great selection of guest beers. Their pub food is, well, pub food.
