Came here for a friends birthday last Saturday. Even though it wasnt full when I arrived at around 8:30, the place got busier with time. Im not a big fan of the big picnic style shared table to start off. Secondly, it a self service bar. You go and get your drinks from the bar which is ok, but at least there should be a staff member that brings you water. I mean its silly to go to the bar, stand in line and wait just to get a cup of water. When I was there, it was very hot inside. I dont know what the issue was but we were sweating! They definitely need to turn on the AC specially when it gets crowded. I personally would prefer going to some other bar with service, specially if the prices are the same.

Super cute place for beer and wine. A tiny spot with the perfect date ambiance. Definitely hard to find seating for more than two here, so dont come with a group, but do some with a significant other or a friend or two. Theyve got a constantly rotating beer list with quite the variety, a good wine list, and bar snacks besides. I love the half-popped popcorn & corn nuts. Theyve got a crowd almost every night of the week, so be prepared to stand for a bit before grabbing a seat.

The airy, warehouse like space just off 3rd Avenue has the feel of a brew pub. The beer and wine selection is acceptable, and the after work crowd of twenty-somethings is cheerful. Our large group was often broken up by the bar staff, who kept shuffling us along the walls, even though we werent blocking any customers nor crowding the bar. Service is otherwise pleasant.

I like the fact the the beer selection is always changing. Its kind of a bummer when your favorite goes away, but you can be sure your new favorite will show up soon! I havent tried any of the wines yet. The "crack" corn makes for a nice snack, but it would be even better if there were more food options.

Great local watering hole. An always changing beer menu with leading beers from local producers. Theres always an IPA, a sour, and a stout on - in some form. The wine list is also limited, but carefully selected. The atmosphere has cheesy (so awful-their funny) netflix movies on in the background.

Interesting, unique beers and flavors but not excellent. I think many of the craft beers these days strive for uniqueness and special flavors, but miss the point of tasting great. Beers need to be about taste and balance. Their curation of beers missed this important point. Service is good.

Grape & Grain is a great place to either start or end your night. It has a mellow environment and bohemian feel as well as a bunch of really potent beers on tap. Theyre wine selection is also pretty good. If your looking for casual conversation with friends this is the spot for you.

Started here for the beer and boardgames. They have a wine selection but Im not a wine drinker. The bartenders are friendly, the people are friendly. Usually have working class people of all ages. Beers rotate weekly, great selection. 8 variety at a time.

Came here on a Friday night with friends and found this venue to be a perfect place to chill and socialize. A small and casual place with a healthy selection of craft beers on tap, I took my Belgian Tripel and enjoyed playing several rounds of CAH.

Great vibes, and friendly staff. Its a great wine bar thats great for drinks, but they have a very limited food menu. This spot is mainly for tiny snacks with your drink. They have a great wine selection, especially for their reds!

Atmosphere is not very personal. So much unused space that could be conducive to better seating arrangement. Wine selection is small. The beers were ok. Could be better unique selections.

Awesome place open late in San Mateo. Great local craft beer. Tried the Kalifornia Kolsch and it was very similar to the real Kolsch from Koln (Cologne). Great ambience too.
