This place is awesome. Just the type of business that this underserved area needs to serve residents both old and new. Totally laid-back unpretentious space and atmosphere, with a very cool diner-ish interior and a lovely outdoor patio with picnic tables—its a new spot, but feels like its been there for decades. The sandwiches are delicious and diverse, spanning from southern soul food to traditional italian deli-style, with a good number of veggie/vegan options. The market part of the store is interesting, with a small yet substantial selection with both the cheap stuff (affordable produce and cooking staples) and the fancy stuff (upscale local pastas and meats). And, pandering directly to my urban hipster tastes, they also have a great beer selection. So even if youre not after one of their bomb sandwiches, you can still stop by and enjoy a local pint on the aforementioned sunny patio. Stay Gold is an exciting newcomer in this long-blighted area. Heres hoping this new spot goes on for many years to come!

I freaking love Stay Gold. Their sandwiches are awesome and they even have legitimate BBQ (Im from the South so that means something when I say it). They use good ingredients on the sandwiches like fresh mixed greens and flavorful tomatoes. Great beer on tap with the type of selection you cant find just anywhere. Come eat and drink outside in good company. Im giving it four out of five stars for now since they still have room for improvement in terms of service speed and accuracy.

Yall keep it trill at Stay Gold. Im born N raised Texan and this is some BBQ. The brisket yall - please. So on point. The Pit master is from SA Texas and does it right. Dont make the mistake of going to some Jack London Square joint. This is the spot. If you know proper brisket etiquette.. please get the fatty stuff and spread that fat on some white bread with pickles and onions... the proper way to do it. In the bay.. this is the truth.

What a gem! Came in last night to find a well stocked bodega/restaurant/beer garden. this place has it all and the food was delicious. I had the meatball sub and I certainly recommend you try it! The meatballs were like the ones my mother used to make and the sauce was outstanding. The homemade macaroni salad was delicious as well. Pay Stay Gold a visit. Youll be glad you did:)

This is a great place to eat and chill in an otherwise baron neighborhood. I had the Pretty Lady and its was so very tasty! My hubby loved the Butcher sandwich, too! Plenty of seating and fun decor. Theres even lots of seating outside and would be great for big groups! I also adored that they had fresh veggies and other groceries for sale. Wil definitely be coming back here!

Food is too expensive for such small sandwiches with no sides. The bbq was bland. They gave us the wrong beer and then hassled us when we brought it to their attention. Youre better off at Moxy Beer Garden or Beeryland (yum!). The music was so weird with Katy Perry and then Christmas music? In May? Twice was enough for me, you have to earn gold to stay gold.

I bought sandwiches for my whole office. This place is great. If you have a hankering for cured, salty, porky goodness, this place makes some awesome sandwiches. The decor is really great, and the staff is really wonderful. There is a little of that tattooed, bearded hipster vibe going on, but who cares when the food is so great.

First time trying Stay Gold tonight. I got the mystery sandwich, and it did not disappoint. Its completely obvious that these fine folks have fun doing what they love. Great beer and wine selections. You gotta try it. Im hoping next time they have vegan sloppy joes available. A new spot for me to bring all my friends to. Hooray!

After living in the East bay for 6 years, Ive found what I was looking for. The sandwiches are delicious. The specials never disappoint. The beer selection is sizable, varied, and exciting. The music selection is rad. Indoor/outdoor seating options for any sort of weather or mood. This place is a little slice of heaven.

This is my happy chill place. Beer, sandwiches, puddings, cookies, salads, succulents, and more. I highly recommend trying their lavender pudding, you wont be the same. The menu also changes from time to time so there is always something new to try. They have a really big relaxing patio. Go here!

BB gun sandwich is delicious and will make you salivate in bed at night... huge sandwich easily shareable. Very unique with beet relish, the crunchy cabbage, and warmed soft but crunchy roll thats not too bready...good job guys! One of the best sandwiches Ive eaten this year if not THE best...

Turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomatoe, oil/vin on french roll: Delicious! Fun, interesting decor. Pinball. PacMan. Records. The patio will be THE spot. Neighorhood is changing, but so few options in these parts, that Stay Gold is a positive change.

Awesome bbq, Texas style. Deli items are all well done...best collard greens Ive ever tasted. Wines and beer are better than most high-quality restaurants/pubs. Really nice patio area and stable of pinball machines.

Expensive. Counter help was UNhelpful, unfriendly, and basically condescending. Sandwich was ok...the "ponyboy"(?)...actually, it was not good. Have had others that were tasty and the BBQ looks and smells good

Fun local sandwich shop and mini grocery. They always have vegan options! The mini grocery has changing and thus unpredictable stock. They have excellent pickles and a decent beer selection. Worth the visit!

The bbq is great with a rotating menu of specials. Also, its not common you can go to a BBQ place that has good Vegan options, the smokestack sandwich is a great option for the veg lover.
