Date 12/12/15 TBL: 102 Check: 664391 Server: Bill B. The food was fine but the service destroyed the evening. Our server tonight, Bill B. actually did a fine job all the way through the meal until the very end. We were a group of 8 people and when it came time for the bill we asked for split checks. We were in a bit of a hurry so we followed him to the server kiosk to help make it quick and help him split up the check easily. He said its the restaurants policy not to split checks but said he was would help us out this time (so far so good). Unfortunately, the whole time he was splitting the checks he continued to lecture our group that we should have planned ahead and that we were really making it difficult for him during a busy time. At one point I asked him, "do you want to waste time lecturing us or do you just want us to pay?" (Interesting service strategy lecturing your customers AS they are about to pay you). As a former server myself, I understand the challenges when its busy and the inconvenience of having to deal with split checks during a rush. I was actually very thankful to Bill that he was willing to help us because we did not know when we sat down that this restaurant did not split checks (which is kind of ridiculous). Since I was a server, as a rule I always give a 20% tip for even decent service. After the long, inappropriate, and unprofessional lecture we received, I wasnt in a generous mood so I gave a 10% tip. And here comes the worst part, our server Bill looked at the tip and in front of my guests said, "Ten percent? Really? Thanks! Were you unhappy with my service? If you were, you are welcome to speak to my manager." I have never been that humiliated at a restaurant. When I was a server, I would have been fired had I treated any of my customers like that. Needless to say, I wont be eating there again and will not be recommending it to anyone soon. Sorry Bill, but I dont think you are cut out to be in the restaurant business.

$1 half pints on Thursdays from 8 till closing! Never been to a happy hour that starts and ends so late. Tied House is a great place to come after work since there are large TVs for sports and lots of seating for large groups especially in the back patio. I love trying all the different beers Tied House has to offer and for only $1, it is such a steal. I ordered the garlic pesto fries once and they were rather lackluster for $7. Not enough garlic and not enough fries. They have a pick 2 Favs menu for $9.95 where you select 2 items from salad, soup, or pasta. This is probably the most filling item for the price point and certainly a great alternative to their burgers. The service here is kind of slow, but I guess with everyone ordering all those half pints, its hard to keep up.

I want to like Tied House. Breweries are fun! Beers with friends are fun. Burgers? Fun. (and yummy). But my food here is never very good :( Veggie burger was blah. Regular cheese burger was blah. Tortilla soup was a salty mess. Salad was soggy. I think the nachos were good... Maybe if I came for beer and not food, I would rate this place differently. But - if they want to attract / keep customers who come to dine, I might pare down the menu to just a few things and make them much, much better. I think a lot of my friend would be fine with a place that only serves bar foods - a couple of burgers, pizza, fries, sweet potato fries, nachos, grilled cheese sandwiches, and a single soup. Good fries are preferable to ordering a pasta that is gross.

Been going for 16 years, and still love it. Great beers, great service (some nights they are slammed-busy, but still pull through) good food values with fresh ingredients... not your typical "pub food". Had the SF Beer Week cioppino special - was GREAT, better than at most Italian restaurants! A REAL cioppino, and TONs of dungeness crab with other seafood. Sure, it gets loud, but thats common with vibrant atmosphere and tons of people enjoying great beer and food. At companies Ive worked for, or friends having a get-together have had events there, always makes everyone happy. Take a jug to go! Great sausages, great smoked meats, great burgers, great salads, everything Ive eaten there I have been happy with.

Delicious beer. I had the Amber because they were out of the Stout. They were also apparently out of the Amber Light, but that didnt appeal to me anyway. I ordered the Southwest burger for dinner and was greatly disappointed. The burger itself seemed as if it was one of those bulk previously frozen patties that you buy in a huge box. Considering the $8.75 price point for the burger, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. Service and Atmosphere: the bartender was very good and friendly. There were plenty of TVs to watch Monday Night Football, but the place was pretty empty considering the 49ers were playing this night. Overall Id go back for a beer, but would likely pass on eating here again.

If you like dark beer at all, try their Ironwood Dark brew. It is probably my local favorite. The other beers are also pretty good, so options for everyone. This is a very casual relaxed microbrewery with lots of space, friendly atmosphere, and reasonable prices to go along with it. The food isnt fine dining, but it is definitely tasty. My only complaint after visiting half a dozen times is their advertised "wild game burger" of "weekly selections including buffalo, venison, elk and ostrich" is always venison, never anything else. Easy, free parking in a lot directly across the street.

$3 for 3 set tasters on weekends and $1 each for half pints of their regular beers after 9 PM on Thursdays are the best times to hit this brewpub up for awesome drink specials. This is a more chill place to relax than Steins just down the street and offers some less intimidating beers for craft beer neophytes. The menu here isnt anything out of the ordinary and the food is pretty consistent. The burgers are probably some of the best items to choose on the menu.

Great beer selection and good cocktails. Some food options are great, others can be very average. We like the veggie quesadillas, the Kobe beef sliders, and the Jalapeño chicken sandwich. Garlic fries are acceptable. Didnt especially enjoy their normal beef burgers the few times Ive tried one or other of them. Lots of hard-to-see TVs with baseball and football on. Not my thing, but still enjoy the food and drink. Patio is nice depending on the weather.

Tied House is a really solid restaurant and a pretty decent microbrewery. Their in-house beers are solid, if a bit safe (but no more so than the other brewpubs in the area). They have good television coverage and do a good job of making sure that local games are on as often as possible. Ive also been to a few corporate events here and their back patio is decent-sized and private enough that you really feel like you have the place all to yourself.
