(My experience from 2-3 years ago) This place started at about 3 stars. The selection was scarce, and even then, there were menu items that were unavailable. Now... for the reason behind the one star... I ordered the "Bundener Raclette~Gruyére cheese, three different Swiss sausages and mixed pickles served with boiled potatoes and Dijon mustard" The dish itself was okay, but definitely an appetizer style and sized portion, being passed off as an entree and priced for one. So why one star? ONE OF THE SAUSAGES WAS SPOILED! There is a very distinct smell and taste that comes with bad meat that is unmistakable! I didnt make a big fuss, I ate the rest of the plate and politely informed the gentleman that the one remaining sausage had a bad taste and smell. His expression alone told me he thought I was lying. So after speaking with his cook he comes back with a fresh, uncooked sausage and says, "here smell this one, same one you eat, I serve this two other people today, no problem" Well, SORRY but the piece you tried to serve me was NOT FRESH! Not sure where you get your "swiss sausages" from, or how long you hold them for, but I am offended that you challenge my judgement. Guess what amigo? THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!! I dont care if you just butchered the pig and linked the sausage five minutes before I walked through that door. If a customer complains, YOU APOLOGIZE AND POLITELY RECTIFY THE SITUATION. The only way Ill return to this place is to give my condolences when they go out of business ;)

Great Food, Great Value and Great Atmosphere. Portions are generous and the food was excellent. We got the Risotto Ticino and the Bistecca and were definitely happy with the choices. Id give a slight nod to the Risotto over the Bistecca just because it seemed healthier (the Bistecca has an awesome spicy butter on it). For dessert we got the bread pudding which my wife loved, but I wasnt a huge fan of them using bananas in it. Sauce was delicious though. Id probably give the restaurant 4 stars based on the food and drinks but the entertainment bumped it up to a 5. Every Sunday they have a great singer/keyboardist play everything from Samba to Kansas (Dust in the Wind). He was awesome. Hearing him play the guitar solo from Hotel California was impressive. Even an elderly Asian couple seemed to nod their heads along with it. Chalet Ticino is a hidden gem in Foster City.

We were looking for some good comfort food in the neighborhood tonight and found Chalet Ticino. Renamed to better reflect its Swiss Italian food, this gem in Foster City serves fantastic classics at affordable prices. The owner himself provided great service along with the wait staff and recommended a fantastic wine to go with our lamb and steak. Before that we started with the Italian wedding soup and Caesar salad. Both were as good as home made -- fresh and delicious. The owner also recommeded the chocolate souffle for dessert and it was outstanding. Overall a great little place with good service, great food, and a charming atmosphere.

I was looking for an Italian restaurant near my hotel in Foster City & Google returned "Pasta Grotto". I called & ordered off a menu found online. Only when I got there did I have to call them to learn Chalet Ticino replaced Pasta Grotto. My meal was ready & waiting - even though it wasnt something they they have on their current menu. My food was unusual (Crispy Angelhair with spinach & shrimp) - and it was delicious! I wish I had found this restaurant a few days ago so I could try more dishes. Id definitely go back & eat in as the atmosphere was also very nice.

Wow, this restaurant is a diamond. The Swiss-French (and a little German) is spot on. The menu is nice and small, all wine is flat rate, the food delicious, and Alex the owner is a kind, hard-working gentleman. One of my favorites is their sautéed mushroom appetizer - its so simple, but hits all the write flavors. They need a seafood version of this.

Been coming here for over 10 years. You cant beat the service, the location, or the food itself. Ive never had a meal that was anything less than excellent. Its always a pleasure to talk to Alex and the rest of the staff. As far as neighborhood restaurants go, you couldnt ask for a better one. I suggest the berries compote for dessert!

This is the real thing!! Authentic Swiss food that is very tasty. My husband is from Austria and we enjoy coming here and bringing his Austrian friends...good food, nice ambiance and the owner is very nice :) Ive liked every dish Ive had. The raclette sausage plate is great for those who love real German sausage!!

Got take-out with my boyfriend. We both got eggplant parmesan, and I got a side salad as well. Delicious, generous portions, good price, friendly service, and the salad was fresh. I highly recommend this place.

The waiter, who I also believe was the owner, was fantastic and charming to my boyfriend and I when we went. Our food was excellent, but overshadowed by the desserts, which where fantastic.

There arent many vegetarian options, but the eggplant parmesan was good. Ill have to try the fondue another time. The dessert are really good. I especially liked the bread pudding.

Greeted by the owner of the restaurant. Amazing menu for lunch and dinner. Food was great and really adorable restaurant. It reminded me of my grandmas kitchen.

We had a large party and we used the fixed price menu to accomodate the large party of 25. Everyone raved about the food and Alex was a delight.
