This place is a very nice spot. I came with my Aunt and cousins and was slightly impressed. That being said, they had all been to the OHYA in Phoenix and had said that it was better in some aspects, which I will discuss. Food: 3/5 Pretty good. You have to order atleast two grill items to use the grills (which were very clean and state of the art appealing), which is what we did. We ordered the JapChae (Korean stir fry glass noodles), Duk-Boki(I dont think I spelled it right but it is spicy rice cakes with vegetables and fish cake tofu in a sort of stew, and the grill items were Ssup Gum Sal (Pork Belly), and the classic Marinated Beef (Bulgogi). As far as the taste, the JapChae was the best, but it is my favorite Korean Dish. The Bulgogi was pretty good, not as tender as we expected because it was advertised as marinated, but nonetheless good. The Duk-Boki was okay, but I have a sad thing against tofu, and there are fish-fermented tofu pieces in the dish. The Pork Belly wasnt bad, but it was completely false advertised. The pictures on the menu coordinate to the menu items, and the picture for the pork belly looks delicious like thin shaved pieces of almost prosciutto that would be marinated as well. The waitress (A nice American woman (but certainly no offense to any culture, it was just a shock to see a Korean woman waiting tables as a Korean restaurant, I certainly hope this doesnt get backlash because there isnt any hate in this opinion at all) clearly saw the entree we wanted and repeated its name back to us, but what we got were unseasoned pieces of thick, much-more-fat-than-meat pork that werent seasoned at all. Had we not all known how to season food properly, the meal wouldnt have been as pleasant. As for the side dishes, after ordering 2 main grill items (which were pretty big portions) and 3 sides, we received two tiny pots of rice. My aunt complained because she said they gave more rice at the other location, but we didnt even end up using it. However, tradition Korean meals have much more side portions than we did. They gave us these tiny tiny dishes of side dishes like stewed taro, Daikon, fish cake, tofu, kimchi, and tiny bowls of hot chili paste and thai chili sauce. The portions were incredible small. Of course my aunt said the portions are much larger at the other OHYA location. Venue: 4/5 The venue was a very nice building with a beautiful faux-lit Sakura tree in the middle. The grill tables are in the back but very clearly indicates. The restaurant has a regular bar, and a sushi bar, which was nice to see. Staff: 2/5 As for the staff, this is where the restaurant falls short. I guess since it was a Sunday maybe they were expecting an even lighter load the was already lightly present. There were two waiters, and four groups of customers including ourselves. You would think this as more than easily handleable, but the waiter and waitress were constantly in a rush always seeming to forget something and have an issue. Ultimately, our waitress got our order in 15 minutes, when we were ready at about 8 minutes. We began to question if she had to put part of the order in and then go prepare it herself, as she took so long to come back. When she was gone the waiter came and got our baby side dishes and refilled our drinks. At the end, he seemed like a much friendlier waiter and I was sad to see that we werent able to tip him, and instead had to tip her. Luckily waiters generally split the tips as the end of the day. She wasnt a bad waiter, its just she seemed cynical and bad with communication and making sure we were actually accommodated, as the other waiter had to take care of us. Experience: 3/5 Overall, the actually grilling experience as pretty unique and definitely something that will bring me back. They bring the plates of raw meat out and you cook (and have to season sadly) the food while conversing and relaxing with friends and family. It is definitely something I recommend everyone try, and I will be trying again soon.

Oh man, the food!!!! Took 2 of my friends and my husband to ohya literally 15 min ago, and let me tell you, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The service was OK its the only reason why they didnt get 5 stars from me, but no worries I always tip well if the food is good. On thing that kept bugging me was the fact that both the male server and female server that we had kept turning up and turning down our grill. So the meat would either cook fast which we didnt mind. Then the girl would come and turn our grill off. Our server that got us our drinks is new she didnt know anything. What was on tap or a dish to recommend or what was what when it came to the meat. End story Ill return, the food was great, but I am fat and happy and thats what matters to me. Oh before I forget avoid the sushi if you can. Not that great. But the Korean! Very much worth it.

We initially checked out Ohya about a year ago, since it was close to our place in Desert Ridge at the time. We have since gone back a few times for the BBQ sets, and a little Sushi. On our last visit we discovered they now have a BBQ/Sushi Buffet. Its well worth the $26 per person for all you can eat Korean BBQ and Sushi. They do have a somewhat fixed menu of items that you can order from at different price points. However, at the $26 price point you get a lot of variety of meats and sushi to pick from. Our server Simon was a bit soft, but had the personality to really make it work for him. He did an awesome with our constant ordering, and made us feel right at home. We love this place, and will definitely be back!

The food was great, but service was horrible. Went with a party of 10. It took about 30 to 40 minutes before our order was taken. The food came out in a very disjointed fashion. To top it off they forgot to make my wifes food. We asked where her food was , said they would check on it. About 30 minutes later they brought her food out. By then we were all basically finished eating. No apology, a sorry, an explanation or offer to discount. Will never go here again.

Hands down the worst experience Ive had in a long time. The server (Alex) was rude, and very short. Sushi took an hour and a half, there was a hair in my meat (I took a picture of it as well), i had to ask for multiple refills, and had to ask two different servers for the manager. When she finally came out of the back, she was no help and simply gave one excuse after, and did not even try to fix the situation. Long story short a waste of 75.00

Great food! Our server Kyle definitely made this a place worth visiting again he was engaging and extremely friendly. The ramen was delicious full of flavor! The gyoza and shrimp tempera sushi roll were so super filling and savory. The owner of the restaurant Chris spoke with us sharing some stories which was super personable. Better than decent prices on the food as well as the hot saki.
