My order was totally ignored. Waited for 45 mins and figured out our order was not submitted at all! No apology, no excuse, no explanation. I have to wait for 45 mins starving and looking later guys taking their food but none of our food comes. None of waitor or waitress bothered to ask whats going on even though i was waiting for 45 mins. I have to ask whats going on myself and found out they miss my order. It was not a huge restaurant that cannot pay any attention to a customer. I NEVER VISIT HERE AGAIN.

The worst service I have ever experienced. We ordered corn cheese and it never came until reiterated. We ordered rice and two out of four were served cold and hard. They forgot our order multiple times. We had to press the button to call them at least 5 times for them to come. My mom dropped her spoon and we asked for one. And they forgot the spoon as well. We had never received the spoon. We asked why the service was like this, and all they would say was that they were sorry and gave us a big bowl of salad bowl for compensation (we didnt eat it). They offered us ice cream as well, as if it would do anything. This restaurant is ridiculous

We have gone to this place three times now the first two times were alright nothing too special. Prices are ok to high for the area. This last weekend we went. An it was an unpleasant experience. We sat down I asked for a water it had a black bug in it. Asked the waitress for another water. She came back after sometime there were only two other groups in the restaurant. This time the water she got me had a piece of dirt floating in it instead of a bug. The sushi was warm an not appetizing rice was hard. Definitely a lot better places for sushi in the valley. Not sure about that area. But that will be our last visit to Gangnam.

Great little family run place serving Korean and Japanese food and good sushi. Personal friendly service, decent selection of soju and beers(its better to go to the glass cooler and point as not all the choices are listed on the menu). I was looking for a beer and only saw a Korean and Japanese beer listed which are ok but not my faves. I noticed they had an IPA and a couple of other craft beers in the cooler. The crowd is mostly ASU students in groups and on dates. About half were Korean and seem to love the huge hot pot bowls. We enjoyed the seafood pancake, the baked salmon collar and a couple of pieces of nigiri.

I went to this place twice, and for both times, I was not really satisfied. I ordered soft tofu soup, and they used regular tofu, not the one Koreans use for soft tofu soup. And it was very salty. My friend had a spicy beef soup (육계장), and the portion was ridiculous. I think 4 people can finish one bowl. Well, I guess the more, the merrier??! However, this is the only Korean restaurant in this neighborhood, so if you have time, go to Chodang or Hodori in Mesa and if you dont have time, this is your only choice.

Tried this place on a whim to eat someplace different. The sushi is good quality, the plate sizes were great, add in thier great service and a clean restaurant and its very deserving of a good review. If they had service issues before like mentioned in two other reviews Im willing to bet they fixed it. Our servers were among the best Ive had in a long time and I eat out frequently. Above average. Had the volcano roll and another one I cant recall the name of but was great! Ill be back.

The employees have come to know my name and order because I eat here so frequently. Their best roll in my opinion is the volcano roll, theyre very generous with the sauce and scallops which is awesome. Their employees are super friendly and know when and when not to come to your table (which I appreciate a lot in a restaurant). I go to a lot of sushi restaurants and this is definitely my favorite in the Tempe/Phoenix area, maybe even in AZ.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite local sushi spots. Excellent variety of rolls including some unconventional but delicious combinations. In addition, Gangnam offers many non-sushi options, making it a great place to go get your fix even if your friends dont like sushi. In general the portions are large and the prices are very reasonable.

By far my favorite Korean restaurant in Arizona. Sushi is consistently made and flavored well and so are the Korean dishes. They have the same person making sushi since Ive started coming to this place and I hope they keep him there for good. He knows what hes doing.

Great staff and service. The budae pot was delicious. The poke bowls portion is huge. The sushi is big too. Liked their bibimbap a lot. Everything is on point over all. But not cheap though. Will definitely go back when I get the next paycheck.

Their kimchi and soups are good but I had their kalbi bento box which was one of the more expensive $20 meal. There was hardly any meat it was mostly fat so im not happy with quality at all. This place should know how to choose their meats.

Great food, large variety of choices, reasonably priced. Only downside was that the service lacking... Hoping it was just the server, since this was my first visit. Ill definitely be back to eat the Hamachi Kama again, it was delish!

The ahi tuna tower and bibimbap is exquisite. For less than $40 you can enjoy both, a large sake, and a light kirin beer. Great meal for two and makes for a wonderful date night. The atmosphere and company is always awesome

I was impressed with the Sashimi Salad. It had nice big chunks of fish with a flavorful seaweed salad on top. The service was kind and attentive. My husband thought the veggie roll needed a little flavor/originality.

This is the last sushi place youll need in Tempe. Great prices, delicious food, solid service. Plus if you like Korean food this place is going to blow your mind. I regularly find myself craving the Spicy Pork dinner.

Servers were friendly but slow. The food was not all that great. The lady with the tattoos was very friendly to us and assisted us in many recommendations.

Quite possibly the best Korean food in town - bibimbap and bulgogi are uniquely tasty when compared to other Korean restaurants in the valley
