Literally worst service ever! AND we had 2 servers. I went for my birthday and the waitress checked on us probably a total of 4 times during the 1 hour that we were there and 2 of the times were because I had to flag her down. She served my spouse her order then it took almost 25-30 minutes for my mom to get her order, then to top it off, she hadnt even put my order in until 10 minutes before we decided to leave and by that time, my spouse and my mom had finished eating and my food was the only food on the table and it was so awkward eating by myself. Four tables got there after us, and those same 4 tables left before us. When I tried to correct the waitress on serving us the wrong order of my moms sushi, she just claimed "well its out so you eat". Incredibly terrible birthday dinner experience. When I confronted the manager about it, he only discounted 10%. My food was late, it was wrong, servers were rude, service was very unprofessional and rude. I would NEVER recommend this place. I am seriously just giving it one star because I cannot give it any less.

Me and my boyfriend came on a Saturday night around 8:30. We were both eager to use the grills and grill our own meat and pork. We were told at the front there was a 30min wait for one so we decided to wait. We came back after 30min and were told that the grills are not available after 9. We decided to just get regular food instead. The food was bland and cold. We were being rushed by the server and the owner to hurry up, eat and get out since they were trying to clean around us. The issue was why tell us to come back in 30min for a table if you know you stop them at 9 and we specifically told you when we arrived that was where we wanted to sit. Management didnt do anything to help the situation or give us an enticement to come back. We came to another Korean BBQ place on the weekend and we werent treated like this. We wont be returning to this establishment.

Im a little taken back, I have been coming to Takamatsu for years and my past two experiences were pretty lame. We reside in Goodyear and decided to drive all the way to this spot because it was our favorite. Last time our server totally forgot we ordered, never once refilled our drinks, and finally noticed that our food was never put in to order. Tonight we arrived at 6pm and walked out at 8:15pm. Our food took over an hour and 30 minutes. Our first dish that came to the table was a plate of yakisoba, and was barely enough for two people. We did not receive the rice that should have come with the dish or any of the small side dishes that company the entree. I am disappointed, I really used to enjoy eating here... Now I have to find a sushi spot closer to home..

Yum yum yum! I was stationed in Korea for a year and looooved the food. This place is pretty close to authentic and its so good. Love it. For those of you commenting about how the service is, most (if not all) of the servers and the kitchen staff are from Korea. Koreans dont serve the way Americans do. You either have to flag them down, or they have little buttons on the tables you push for them to come to you. Theyre not "waiters." Also, they dont tip in Korea; to them, its a rude sign of "you need money". So they may give you strange looks. Just ignore it. Sure, they should probably know by now that its a sign of thank you for your great service" but some just dont know. So dont be rude. Go learn some Korean culture before you whine about it.

Very disappointed! Was looking forward to have korean bbq where u actually cook it yourself. We came around 1:45pm and was told it was only for dinner not lunch to cook your bulgogi. Lunch time cut off was 2:30pm. It was a out 1:55 when a party of 20 came through and was able to order with the cooking themselves. When we left it was 2:15pm I was angry and disappointed. First I wanted to order my own separate kimchee apart from my daughters and was told no u share and will give when your out. I was willing to pay extra for my own instead of eating my daughters kimchee. I had to flag down the waitress for a refill of my drink. Then we found a bug crawling out of my daughters sushi. That was it for me we will never go back. Bad service and bad food.

The food here was alright, but having lived in South Korea for over 2 years, it was definitely nothing to write home about - that is, my former S Korean home :) What made this a 2 star experience was the service. As some others have mentioned in other posts, the service was underwhelming and slow. It seemed like you had to make an effort to get them to come to your table for anything other than the initial serving of the meals. My Korean bride was NOT impressed. My advice to you is to go directly across the street (NW corner of 43rd Ave and Dunlap) to the other Korean restaurant, Cafe Ga Hyang.

This is the most amazing, wonderful place ever! The staff is always super friendly. The food is by far some of the best in the city! The sushi is exquisite. They will take care of you with everything! Even the owner of the establishment interacts with the guests! There has never been a dull moment when you walk in the door. I go at least once a week and if I am not able to go, they will take care of you. My family is not feeling well and instead of the chicken noodle soup, just a large order of the miso soup made with love makes the entire family feel so much better! I love this place!

The "best" Korean cuisine you will find in Arizona hands down!!! The food is superb presented beautifully plated and quite appealing. The taste, temperature, and even the texture of the food(s) are impeccable. Seasoned through and through - each bite only begs for more. The service is exceptional. Authentic, genuine, hospitable, unhurried, low-key and casual. Any night of the week is worth visiting however, if youre a sports buff, its always best to get there during Happy Hour to reserve a good seat at the sushi bar and one of the great monitors beaming overhead. Enjoy!

I want to give Takamatsu a higher rating, but I just cant. Im a huge fan of the one in Surprise (right across from Luke Air Force base). There, the food is amazing and the service excellent. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. This location has a more limited menu and serves smaller portions. Also, the few times Ive went, the food has come out cold and the servers/staff are irritated when you ask to warm it back up or ask a question about the menu. Like I said, Id love to give this more stars based upon the west valley location, but I just cant.
