Look, this setup is kinda cool. The food is pretty good. But this is not the best bbq or Mac n cheese youve EVAR HAD. Some reviewers appear a bit smitten with being among the early reviewers of something that has the potential to be great. The setup is indeed unique, you order inside a pair of industrial shipping containers that have been tacked on to the side of an outdated bar/diner. Once youve received your order, you walk it around outside to the diner for the sit-down experience. Oh. Unless you ordered a side, then they give you a Vegas-style token to bring into the diner to pick up your side. Kinda fun actually. Now, I only ordered the brisket sandwich and their Mac n cheese. Its possible theres better on the menu. In both cases, however I have had better. The brisket was a little dry, and really lacking in flavor. Thankfully the sauce was quite good (you get two sauce choices: spicy or sweet, and you only get a little plastic cup of it. Extra cups are .50 each). Ive had far better at Bad Brads BBQ. The Mac n cheese? Sure. Its good. But its not mind-blowing. Ive had better at Union Woodshop. It would be 3 stars if I were to rate on taste alone. But the joy of ordering in a shipping container filled with lovely smells, a menu written in chalk that appears to be ever changing, and the lack of anything else like it for miles makes me give it 4. Its an interesting little experience.

If youve never yet been to the Smokehouse at the Victory Inn, you need to put it on your agenda ASAP! Pitmaster Chris and his crew at the Smokehouse do it right when it comes to smoking up some incredibly tasty meat! The Smokehouse at the Vic has the BEST smoked turkey youll ever have, period! The brisket is amazing, the burnt ends are delectable, the pulled pork is succulent, and the smoked sausage is worth stabbing someone with a fork to get the last piece! Chris & his crew also frequently do special on-site events at places like the Brooks Brewing Company in Shelby Twp as well as catering for private parties! If you love smoked meat, then youve definitely got to check out one of the Detroit areas finest purveyors of smoked vittles! See you up at the Victory Smokehouse!

Went there for my birthday on a Saturday evening around 6pm, we drove over an hour after hearing the comercial on the radio. It took about 15 minutes to figure out how the ordering system worked since no one in the attached bar bothered to explain that you have to order meat from an outside shipping container then bring it inside and order sides and drinks. By the time we made it out to order our meats which was about 6:30, they had sold out of everything but a few leftover scraps. So we went to Joes Crab shack instead. Im sure that if we had shown up for lunch it would have been great.

The commitment to quality and consistency is what the Victory Smokehouse is all about. Taste and texture prove there’s not a single shortcut taken in that smoker. It’s the best BBQ I’ve had and it somehow gets better every time I eat it. Love the brisket and burnt ends but Ive had everything on the menu and its all in a league of its own … Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to my next trip back to Michigan so I can have some more.

Best bar b q i have ever had beside my moms. Everything we had was awesome!!! Sirloin tips, brisket, coleslaw, beans and mac and cheese. If i could afford it i would eat here Every Day. My whole family including my 86 yr old mom loved it. The sirloin tips were so tender she could eat them with out any problems. And very fast friendly wonderful service. I most highly recomend. We wont be going anywhere else for our bar b que!!!

I will be coming back! I got the brisket and it was top notch. Great smoke ring, great char, perfect texture, and they serve it with a touch of BBQ sauce which is all you need if youre looking for a bit of sweet here and there. My serving include a few burnt ends which Ive been searching high and low for ever since I got back from Kansas City. Check this place out. You cant go wrong.

This is the best barbecue north of Texas. You can really tell their is love with every plate they serve. I cant believe how friendly everyone was. The owner of the bar actually gave my children 2$ a piece as we were leaving, which was more than the tip we left her. Its great to see the American dream coming true for someone who works their tail off and treats people right.

All I can say is WOW! This place is worth the wait... Victory Smokehouse did not disappoint. The brisket ribs and chicken were perfect - Moist, flavorful and tender. The mac & cheese was about the best Ive ever had. Chris and his staff are extremely professional and there are plenty of sides to satisfy the non-meat eaters. I will definitely be back soon.

Awesome food, fantastic service! Called up to place an order and was told just to stop in and I would be in and out in 90 seconds... Well it took about 4 minutes. Lol. Had to give the guys a hard time about that. Nice to see a place that can take a joke and joke right back. Thanks again guys, will Deffinately be coming back! Highly recommend.

Tucked in the back behind Victory Bar is a pair of shipping containers that contain Victory Smokehouse. Dont let their looks fool you, this place pumps out some real quality BBQ. Much better BBQ than any chain in the area could pump out. Lots of different cuts of meats, every one that I tried had been amazing.

My 1st time here, & it definitely will not be my last. The Brisket & Baby Back Ribs are Smoked flavor, very tender & juicy. You dont need any Bbq sauce with this meat, but if you choose to, it will not disappoint. If you want the BEST BBQ, this place can show you better then I can tell you.

Great place to get a beer and some good food. They have a different food special every weekday and they open up their smokehouse Friday-Sunday. Definitely go try the smokehouse the meat is delicious.
