This place is AWFUL! My husband, two of his friends, and myself decided to grab some dinner on Friday 3/24. We knew it was going to be crowded so we grabbed a table in the bar area and only waited about 5 minutes until our waitress "Caleb" (Not sure if this was her real name or not) showed up, literally THREW the menus at us and said she would be back. She came back a little while later, got our drink and food orders. She had NO idea what she was doing. She brought our beers and that was the last we saw of her for almost forty-five minutes!! Finally my husband went looking for her and could not find her... she then strolled in with a piece of cake in her hand. My husband inquired about our food and it was then that she told us the fish fry wasnt available. We then asked her why she waited forty-five minutes to let us know one of our orders wasnt going to come and she just shrugged her shoulders, said "You know were really busy I have a birthday party of 40 people outside" and then proceeded to shove cake in her mouth. It was then that we asked to see the manager, "Caleb" rolled her eyes and went to get him. Things got even worse when the manager came over. He immediately blamed us for being upset and waved his hands around like we couldnt see the place was packed. One of my friends told him that the last time he was there the same girl was his waitress and she was garbage then as well. He then started to apologize as soon as we told him we would never be coming back to the Monastery and would make sure we told all our friends how terrible they had been to us. He offered us $5 off our drinks. We declined and asked for the check for our drinks. He brought the tablet over for us to pay and "Caleb" had charged us for 2 extra drinks we never even ordered! The idiot manager had to try four different times until my husband finally said "Look at our table! There are 4 of us here and we have only been served ONE drink. How many drinks do you see?" Then the manager finally figured it out. We finally left and made sure to tell patrons on the way out about the issues. We will NEVER step foot on this property again.

I love the potential of the place and environment. Now the server?! That was what messed it up for me and my friends! I think her name is Vanessa (stay away from her) let me tell you why! We get there and there is a party going on... no biggie well it takes her 15 mins to even come see us and does not introduce herself the only reason I know her name is because we asked for a beer menu and they didnt have one, she instead show us her iPad where she placed orders. Next she did not know anything about beers when asked. Then she takes 30 mins to bring us out beers and does not know what beer belongs to who when it is only 4 of us. Also brings a mysterious beer that she has no clue of what it is and says. "Here drink this until I find the right beer." What in the world?! After that we were worried on ordering any kind of food... she was not professional at all or mindful she would lean all over the table like she was at her own house. We waited and finally got the courage to order something small. We asked her for extra salsa and cheese because they put drops of it.. she said, " oh that is going to cost you extra" I looked at her and explained that they put nothing on the nachos and we said ok whatever.. then she goes and gets it and says, " I didnt charge you because I wasnt clocked in hahahaha." Anywho other little comments she made were so unattractive and needless to say I am surprised she still has a job there. Being a manager for 5 years, this lady/girl would never work for me! Whoever the management team is here...Ill just say horrible recruiting or training opportunity with this employee to represent your establishment. Having said that we will not return there even though that was our First time there.

I worked in the restaurant business, so I am often empathetic with the staff and give them the benefit of the doubt. I dont send food back, or complain if something is wrong. I just deal with it. Myself, my boss, and a business associate came here around 7, the place was relatively quiet so we figured it shouldnt take too long. We decided on the cook your own steak, only to find out 40 minutes later that the type of steak on the menu "they didnt actually sell", so they gave us "better" steaks for the same price. We took them to the grill, where we noticed they looked and smelled just a little bit "off", but again, we arent complainers, so we just dealt with it. By the time we cooked our steaks with the few other people in the restaurant on the only grill on (there were 2 or 3 others) we came back to our table to see our appetizers had been sitting there, and were cold. We downed the steak, ate the appetizers, received a few refills, and waited for our check. We pointed out to the server (who again, was brand new) about the meat, and when she returned she agreed it was a bit off, the other servers with her didnt seem surprised or shocked when we pointed it out. They gave us a basket of appetizers to apologize, and then brought the full price bill. All in all, it took us 2.5 hours to sit down, order our own steaks, cook the steaks ourselves, get our check, pay and leave. We arent slow eaters. I dont know what is going on with the place, or if management is just saying to push out the bad meat, or what the deal is. Myself and the business associate have been feeling pretty gross the last 12 hours.

Used to love this place, but had an awful experience the last time we went. Our server disappeared for 45 min after sitting down, we didnt even receive water. The servers seemed to be paying a lot of attention to the volleyball crowd, not so much to the people actually dinning in. After we got our drinks, about an hour after we sat down, the waiter took our order, we didnt see our food for almost another hour. We have a 2 year old that was about to go insane, honestly, the only reason we stayed was because they took our credit card "to start a tab", basically = keep us there. Food was cold when it arrived, the rest of the table didnt receive there food for another 45 min. Then the manager came over to apologize, but followed that up with charging us for the full meal. Protip: when having an epic failure in service, comping a meal or two goes a long way for people. Honestly, I gave it two stars out of nostalgia, but I very much doubt Ill be returning.

Needs work. Clean your fans above tables and speed up service. Tool way too long for food. They said 8 to 10 minutes. Then way past that they said oh we are just starting your food. Then way past the 2nd time provided food still wasnt done. Disorganized. You order at bar where there is long line. Then to check if food is ready you have to go back up to the bar and stand around waiting to bed next again to be told your food isnt ready. Why not have an actual pick up area for orders. Then my boyfriend ordered a burger and fries. We never received any fries. The fans above tables outside had dust and grime caked on them hanging off each blade waiting to fall into your drinks and plates. The atmosphere is cool if you want to play outdoor games. That is only redeeming quality.
