My wife and I joined some friends for dinner at Kobe Sushi last night. We love sushi and are always up to try a new place, unfortunately we got the short end of the chopstick last night. I havent had such poor service and poor quality sushi...possibly ever. When we got there we were one of two groups of patrons in the whole place. Our friends had ordered a few things to get started and received it quickly. My wife and I placed our order and in the meantime other parties in our group showed up and ordered about 30 min after we had ordered. Everyone received their food except for my wife and I. My wife received part of her order at that time. We continually asked for water and were promised a pitcher over and over. After 2 and a half hours several patrons had come and gone and we still didnt receive our order. There were empty plates and bottles all over our table to the point where I had to literally start handing the waitress things to remove from our crowded table. I mentioned our missing items 3 times to our waitress including taking her aside as well as mentioning it to the other waitress that was working. We finally received the missing portion of our order after 2 and a half hours, after some of our group had already left (we never did get the water either).. The rice was terrible, the fish was not fresh, the rolls were poorly constructed. The wasabi was bland, not to mention we ran out of soy sauce on our table. We eat out enough to know that youre not going to hit a homerun every time but when you spend $100 for a dinner for two you would like to think there would be a certain level of customer service or food quality. Having worked in the service industry I would have done all I could to compensate for the experience. We were offered nothing. This is truly an establishment that doesnt value their customers.

I live in LA County and was in SLC to visit friends and family. We stopped here after watching a Man v. Food episode. Maybe the fact that this place was empty on a Friday night should have been our first clue. The service was terrible and having to remind the waitress that a meal was supposed to come with soup, repeated requests to get drinks refilled, etc. But it doesnt stop there! The food was TERRIBLE! The miso was beyond salty and obviously used VERY OLD seaweed. The albacore was not fresh at all and made swallowing ocean water more tasty. Oh! And if you want Rooster Sauce (sriracha) you get charged because they cant give you anything spicy. And whats up with mayonaise on e-v-e-r-y piece of sushi!? None of our food came together, in fact my plate (BBQ Short Ribs) came out AFTER every one else was DONE and the meat was cold and tough. Icing on the cake (aside from having to ask repeatedly for the check) was that my husband saw their application for MvF and their subsequent posting requesting people to come and fill the place and get the chance to be on TV. Moral of this story: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

This place is with out a doubt on my favs list. The location is not the greatest. Its located in one of those open shopping strips right off 215. It is easy to miss so watch out. Stepping inside you quickly notice the decor. Its very Asian without feeling over done. The bar is not very large so seats are limited. If your anything like me, when I want to eat sushi the seat of choice is the bar. Its just the right way of eating sushi. You converse with the sushi chef and are able to order what you want when you want it. If your not in the mood for sushi than take a table and order yourself a bowl of ramen. I always get shoyou ramen. The broth is great and the noodles are pretty good. They come in both regular size and large size. Im a big eater but I find a regular size bowl hits the spot just right. I also ordered a side of gyoza (popstickers). They give you the option of having them fried or steamed. I choose fried. They should have mentioned it was deep fried so it was very crispy. Wasnt bad but I think I will choose steamed the next time. All in all I recommend this place!

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I would give it a lower rating if possible We came up from Utah County to use our groupon. Worst service ever! The waiter didn't bring the high chair and drinks for 15 minutes of us sitting there. There were only 2 other tables and 1 at the bar so it wasn't crowded. Our appetizer never came. And to top it off our appetites were ruined by a guy in his late forties participating in the hellfire challenge. Oh don't worry he was at the table next to us and started vomiting. He didn't go outside until I said " can you please go outside". There were kids running all over the place and now throw up next to us and on the sidewalk outside. Our food was incredibly slow and our waters were never filled. Our dirty dishes were never taken until we asked and you guessed it the table where the guy threw up was never cleared off while we were there. We spent almost 2 hours here and only ordered two rolls. We spent over $60-- a complete rip and had an over all bad experience.

My mom, sister, daughter and I went there on a Friday night. It wasnt too crowded or busy - but still took over an hour to get our orders. It took 25 minutes for my sister to get her seaweed salad. My daughter was with us, and I order the kids meal for her - that didnt come until the majority of the order was ready - shes 2 and is normally very well behaved - but because of the wait she was getting very restless. I ordered her meal first before anything else was ordered at our table in hopes of it coming and keeping her occupied. The customer service was poor - they were inattentive and spilled water all over my purse when they tried to refill my moms class. They had more variety than a Harmons grocery stores selection of sushi (obviously), but Id say this was comparable to Harmons quality. This was also pricier than better sushi restaurants in the area. We will not be returning.

Server brought us water with lipstick all over the top of the class and then took forever to come back. Finally took our order and later returned saying he forgot our order and couldnt read his own handwriting. He was very nice but all the other servers had to refill our drinks food took so long to come out and when it finally did there was eggshells in our rice and my egg in my Ramen was hardly cooked with even the whites still running all over. One of our ramen the noodles werent hardly cooked the other one where overcooked with soggy tempura shrimp hanging out of it. We never saw or heard from him again until we asked another waitress to get the check then about five minutes later he handed us a check. Simple apology was all that was given paid full price probably took over an hour to even get our food. The broth and the rice was the only thing worth eating
