So the night didnt start well when our group arrived around 7:00 or so and were told 45 minute wait for 7. At an hour we went inside (oh yea! A table on the patio area appears to be open for 7!) only to be told that it would be at least another 20 minutes. At 30 minutes this table is still open. Should have left at this point as the hostess informed another inquisitive guest that it wasnt an issue with not having tables, they couldnt seat anyone for a bit because the kitchen was backed up. At 8:25 we are seated. Here is the only positive part of the review. The waitress was nice and none of this was her fault. If you choose to stay and wait it out here despite my advise, get the Boudin Balls (spicy), the shrimp and crawfish cheese dip, the slap ya mama shrimp (not spicy), or the gumbo. Had some hush puppies while we waited with slap sauce. Small wait on apps. ***The app Station in the kitchen was ON! All were good.*** Unfortunately, the kitchen ship sinks from there, as does one of the owners. Our entrees didnt arrive until well after 9:20 and we were some of the last remaining customers in the place. Now, just to establish, our group is fun, will eat just about anything, overlook small issues, and are great tippers. 1. They were out of sirloin so one ordered grilled chicken and French fries. For $17. The chicken may have been 3-4oz AT BEST and he ate it in about 4 bites. The fries were cold and not eaten. 2. Four ordered filet, medium, two with the grilled shrimp add-on. Not cheap. All were butterflied and charred on one side, all brown throughout and over cooked. All were basically inedible. One was immediately returned to the kitchen for a refund. One took a bite and just ate the shrimp. Two others tried to push through the charcoal flavoring but ended up leaving half. I even tasted one on the non-charred side and it still tasted like char. 3. The crab legs came out with 3 clusters. Nothing special at all. I had joked that I really wanted to just "taste" the pasta when I ordered but was told they didnt sell it as a side. I even asked, they wouldnt even sell me a side or give me one bite to taste after waiting over and hour and a half to get in? No. Total Shut Down. 4. Fish with pasta dish was the best thing on the table. Upon tab reconciliation, my husbands steak had been removed. Good. My brother and sister-in-law who had one bite of steak and all the add on shrimp of one plate and about half/half of the other steak and shrimp plate eaten, had a discount of 10% only. My brother interjected that the other steak was burnt and that he would be happy to pay for the shrimp of that plate but was not happy paying for a steak with one bite gone. Waitress verbalized understanding and found one of the owners. He brought the ticket back over again showing my family he had "so generously" taken the 10% off. So he took $7 off a steak that had one bite missing. Since all 4 steaks were burnt, we really expected this situation to be handled differently. As we were leaving my husband expressed his displeasure with the owner, who informed him "there were 450 people here tonight and yall are the only ones with problems!" To this sarcastic gentleman, consider a few things before your restaurant ends up on Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares: 1) you are still new...how many repeat customers do you have? Because like a beachy tourist trap, people may eat here once, but its the returning customers that keep you going. 2) When 5/7 plates are inedible, there is a problem with the kitchen. More training or new personnel is likely needed. 3) If all plates had been licked clean, and we complained, then we would owe you for everything and you could chock us up as a bunch of buttholes. When there is an obvious problem with the kitchen, you have to be able to make this right. You basically told my sister-in-law, in a passive aggressive way, that the $20+ steak plate has a steak that is only worth $7. Maybe things will change, but I wont bother making the 30 minute drive back to find out.

Over priced for food quality. 3hr dinner service for bad food. Ordered a medium sirloin and it arrived "butterflyd"(for those that dont know its a cheap way of making a small cut look larger) and burned to the point it was inedible. I had two plates arrive this way as did others on my table. My fiancé only ate one bite of her burned steak and a stick of shrimp. Now I tried to get through more of mine but couldnt finish. I ate maybe 30% of this $24 steak. When I asked that my fiancé have her plate removed from the bill the manger only offered a %10 discount. 7$ from a $70 meal that was at best %50 edible. On the way out he basically mocked us for not having a pleasurable experience. The owner was present and made no effort at all to make sure we were happy. If you do try to eat there the apps are ok and the fish is pretty good. Be prepared to spend $100 for a 50$ meal. If you dont like it the owner will tell you 300+ people have been here and nobody else complained. Sir Ive eaten in my share of restaurants owned by Michelin rated chefs around the world and this isnt even close. If this place was in a large city it wouldnt last a month.

Absolutely ridiculous. Drove all the way from Birmingham, the hostesses were very rude. Had a party of 9 told us it would be 30 minutes, and it ended up being an hour! When a table that could fit 10 people opened up they gave it to a party of three at the time, but would be a bigger party because they had a reservation even though they dont take reservations. Went to the hostess and asked about the table, and asked why there were three people sitting at a table for ten. She corrected me very rudely, and said there "were two people sitting there" and SHE PUT HER HANDS IN MY FACE and held up two fingers. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE! If you need anywhere to eat in this area go to Charlie Bs, which is RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD from swamp tails.

The food here is pretty good and the atmosphere is excellent; however this place is relatively expensive. For me and my parents it was over $100. A snapper and pasta dish was around $24 and a mushroom appetizer, with 4 small mushrooms was $10. At $2.50 per small mushroom, this was a rip. Food was good but many less expensive options are just as good in the nearby area. Service was extremely slow, but we ate there exactly 6 days after they opened- so that was expected. Overall, this place is worth trying but they need a reality check on prices.

This was our first time coming tonight. We waited 1.5 hours for a table. We finally got our food after waiting over an hour. Once we got our food our medium requested steak was charred to a crisp and cooked on the middle like well done. We couldnt even eat it. We spoke to the manager and the best he could do is take $6 off and was rude. On the way out the owner smirked and said have a good night sarcastically, after he knowingly just did bad business and didnt make it right. We will never be back, worst experience ever.
