JJ Bakery is a legit and yummy Taiwanese establishment. I was extremely happy to see that they are back in production on one of my favorite pastries - WIFE CAKE. This is a Taiwanese specialty and not many Chinese bakeries make well. Another favorite pastry is this round Chiffon Cake with Phyllo Dough + whip cream in the middle. Extremely tasty and moist. None of their items are too sweet - perfect for the Asian palette. Located conveniently in a plaza with ample parking and surrounding yummy restaurants like Din Tai Fung across the way, JJ Bakery is top notch and a place worth checking out!

I have to say, I have definitely grown to love JJs more and more as I got older. But the parking is horrible. Love getting their fan tuans and soy milk for breakfast, but their breads are also really good, especially the puff pastry bread with pork sung! Im also a big fan of their chiffon cakes and cream puffs. And their puddings. And cakes. Honestly, I think I like everything here. Service is a hit or miss as the workers are always incredibly busy and impatient.

It felt kind of strange to be in ethnic rainbow that is So Cal and be surrounded by Asian people. The only other white guy and me made eye contact when I walked in like some kind of brotherhood thing. It is SO FREAKING FRUSTRATING that this place would rather not have one or two nasty breads sold than over bake and make more money. The blueberry and cream cheese pastry and the danish with almonds and cream cheese are amazing.

Food: 3 Decor: 3 Service: 3 Came here to look at pastries since we were waiting to get seated for Din Tai Fung. After browsing through everything, I finally decided to take a red bean pastry home, and I ate it the day after. I toasted it in the oven, but it was just okay. Given their wide selection of other pastries, Ill definitely have to come back and try other ones.

Though comparable to 85 degrees, JJs is far superior. The size of the breads was larger than 85 degrees and everything was priced around $1.00-$1.20 for the individual pastries. Bottom line: Skip going 85 if you live within the SGV and come here instead. Just make sure to keep your self-restraint in check so you dont end up buying everything!

I might not be the best judge of Chinese pastries as I love Danish ones (from Denmark, not Danishes) -- meaning more butter, cream and rich stuff. However, as far as light, fruit and nice Chinese pastries go, this place is pretty OK. Ive never had anything bad here, but then again, Ive never had anything overly spectacular either.

WOW!!! This bakery leaves me speechless. I havent found another Asian bakery that can compare. These guys are truly the best of the best. Double cheese cheese cake is my favorite along with the lunch set meals and various baked goods. Yummmmmmy!!! If you havent tried JJs, you havent had the best.

Good for birthday cakes and pastries. Dont order the onion butter pastry unless youre prepared to brush your teeth, it tastes good and people will know you had it. I would of given it full stars but theres another bakery adjacent in next plaza that sells same items for almost half price.

Had a few items to try and not really into this kind of baked goods. I think its a matter of preference really. The only thing I really liked was this 4-piece bun with meat in the middle. The meat is good, but it should have been spread evenly inside the buns to make it easier to share.

Taste of home! Tried in Arcadia on a Saturday afternoon and was reluctant to share with my mom because they were sooo good.I ordered the potato and cheese to share. We both loved them and cant wait to try more. Hope to see mushrooms and cabbage on the menu soon ;)

Perfect spot for birthday cakes and other bakery goodies. Parking is not too great, but they have 15 minute spots right in front. Try the Taiwanese burger!! Pretty darn good if you ask me.
