I love trying new places to eat, so when a friend suggested The Goat in Murfreesboro we went and we are glad that we did! The moment that you walk into the place you know that its going to be a great experience. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table on a busy Friday night, which isnt bad at all! When we got to our table we were quickly greeted by our waitress to get our drink order. After looking at the menu we couldnt decide on what to get because everything sounded so good! We decided on splitting appetizers. I would HIGHLY recommend the nachos (and add chicken), the Italian pizza rolls, and the chicken quesadilla! (My friend that recommended The Goat to us said that his bleu on black burger was perfect!) Even though there wasnt much room left in my stomach after sharing all of those appetizers, I still had to order the house-made donut holes. They cam warm to the table and the dipping sauces were amazing, so make sure you leave room for dessert or grab some to-go. We plan on booking the small room with pool and darts for an outing with friends in a couple of months. What we also loved was that the Manager came around to our table to check on us and had a great conversation with us. (She was also the one who recommended the donuts.) This conversation wasnt the superficial "is everything okay" statement that you sometimes get at other restaurants. She really wanted to make sure our dinning experience was great!

Loud and not enjoyable. I realize that in my mid-forties I may not be the target demographic for this place, but even people in their twenties should be able to have a conversation at a bar. The live music there was concert loud which made it unbearable. Even if there werent any live music, the whole place is mostly one open area with lots of hard surfaces that echo. I get that a bar owner wants people to lean in to each other to talk and socialize with physical closeness and all of that, but this place goes well beyond that. Our server was very accommodating and even asked management about the volume level of the live band. "He said theres nothing we can do," was what she brought back. So, what about the rest of it? Well, the wings were pretty good as was the pizza, but nothing I couldnt get lots of other places, even without leaving Murfreesboro. There was definitely nothing worth going back for, especially if I had to endure the sonic harshness we encountered the first time.

I went here for my birthday dinner. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Our waiter was also fantastic, until we paid. My tab was $13.73, so a 20% tip wouldve only given him roughly $3, so I did $5. I paid with $20.73, and put $5 under a plate as well as did all my friends paying with cash. He asked me if I wanted my change back, and I said yes. He brought me back $6 in ones. Surely I thought there was a mistake, because I was supposed to get exactly $7. Come to find out, my friend also received $1 less than she should have. Needless to say, our waiter took it upon himself to tip himself because he didnt see a tip on the table for himself, which was half way under a plate. Between the four of us, he had about $20 for our meals that cost under $15 prior to him tipping himself. He was left with a $8 tip when we left.

lets start with the good news...nice atmosphere and decor, bathroom was clean, bar drinks were good. Now the bad news, food came out cold (nachos) and waitress dropped of plate and took off before we could tell her it was cold and before she came back(10 min), my wife had no choice to start eating as she was hungry and this was her main course. When waitress did return, wife asked for sour cream which took another 10 min (waitress said she couldnt find any?) My half sub was good but bun toasted to within an inch of its life and crumpled in my hands as I bit into it. The "chicken" wings were anything but! Maybe Quail, but not chicken. They were so small I could barely hold them...im not kidding. The sauce on them was good however. Not going back. Bar Louie, Newks or Bonefish grill next time...

This was my 2nd time at the Goat. The 1st time I thought the food was interesting and tasty. The second time I was there the experience was truly disappointing. First, the waitress seemed to have disappeared for awhile before taking our order. Finally, when our food arrived the person bringing our food was unacceptably rude. I mentioned that we also ordered salads as he just had the hot food. As he walked away he responded rudely "I know, I couldnt carry everything". His attitude was condescending with his passive aggressive attempt to put me in my place. Apparently, they dont bring salads out 1st, so be sure to eat the hot food first and quickly if you prefer eating it hot. Our waitress was nice but we wont go back anytime soon due to the food runners attitude and comments.

One of the worst dining experiences I have had in awhile. The chefs clearly do not know the menu because both mine and my husbands meals were very inaccurate from the menu descriptions. The serve took 30 min to approach our table. The music was so loud I had to yell and even had the server question me multiple time when I would speak to her. She couldnt even hear me. All of the staff was drinking. Anyways I could write a book about how bad the whole experience was. I have literally nothing good to say about the place. This was the second time I had gone. The first time was ok and the second was misserable!

There food is not good at all,I waited 2 hours for my food, then they gave me the wrong food and drink, then that came back 1 hour later with my food with pickles and cheese witch I said I didnt want, then I asked if she could redo it and she brung it to the bar counter and took the cheese and pickles off with here hands and when she brung it back I asked for a refill and she said no, then they paid me for the incorrect meal and charged me 86$ and I tipped 3$ and she added a 0 behind it. I took the check and ripped it up, then left, please wright a bad review, and the times are wrong its 11- 3 in wensday

The food was good, but wasnt hot. The service was slow and the server wasnt really interested in serving. The server said our food would be ready shortly and that she would bring out the drink that my friend ordered. She then went into the corner, sat down, and ate her dinner. When she finally returned our drinks were all empty, our food was lukewarm (a sign that it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting), and she got our order wrong. This was on a Sunday afternoon and the place wasnt busy at all. Plus there was no sign of management, no one asked how our meal was, and it was just okay overall.

Any place that puts pork belly to good use gets 5 stars in my book. I dont get down to Murfreesboro much, but I met a friend here for lunch and had a nice, laid-back experience. We split what I can only describe as everything-but-the-kitchen-sink hand-rolled tots; I cant remember everything that was on them, but they definitely had beer cheese, scallions, and crispy pork belly. We also split a pizza that had a interesting sriracha sauce drizzled over it and a nice, crisp flavorful crust. The staff was really nice and the bill for the two of us was ~$25, so a pretty good value to boot.
