This place is great, and Id gladly come back again the next time were in Washington. First of all, its in the perfect location to grab some food before going wine tasting for the day, situated right between several wineries and even near Red Hook brewery. Whats even better is their menu. Surprisingly, lots of vegetarian options -- and really good options. Mushroom biscuits and gravy? Please. I went with the chopped salad, though, and I dont regret it. It has barrel-aged feta that I could eat out of the container with a spoon, its so good. The Bellini and spicy Bloody Mary were also good (especially because the thought of a Bloody Mary has always made me sick, but I tried my sisters and was pleasantly surprised). They also have a tempting bakery counter with such things as jalapeno cheddar scones, but we got the banana bread. Possibly a little dry, but its a large piece and was overall pretty good.

The service was good, the ambiance was nice, but the food is medium to poor. We did a Fathers day dinner, and some items were ok to good but some were just not well prepared. The Beef Stroganoff had almost no Beef, and tasted like a heavy cream with lots of corn starch. Mostly just noodles and sauce if you could call it that. It lacked any real test, need some wine - and had almost no spices, so it was bland and starchy. For $23 it was one of the worst restaurant deals I have had in a long time. The Chicken Pot Pie seemed nice and was really large. Overall the menu is very limited in selection so one would think they could knock it out of the park. Dinner for 5 was $140, so there are lots of other places that are better in Woodenville in that $25 range like Purple Cafe and others. The Commons may be a better lunch place.

The chopped salad was ok. The fries with the ribs were good. And the dessert was ok. But both my wife and I got the ribs - I saw a plate pass me by after ordering them and knew it was a mistake. Simply put - these were the worst ribs that I can remember ever having. Very little meat. Clung to the bone Richard Sherman to a receiver: tough and nasty. We both had the same reaction. Its a shame - I like the ambiance. Edit 6/14: Ive been back for brunch twice and enjoyed the menu much more - would definitely recommend in the morning.

An attempt at fine dining without fast or friendly service. I ordered a NY strip that came out tough and flavorless, though the natural cut fries were heavenly. The skillet cookie dessert was nice and I also had a great chai latte. I think the high prices are set to keep the riff-raff out as many of the clientele appeared to be bored, wealthy housewives who go there to get some wine and gossip. Im not sure why our service was poor, it seemed like our waitress didnt want to be there at all.

I havent had service this good in quite some time. From the friendly waiter to the accommodating bartender to the smiling barista, this place leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. I ordered a birthday cocktail for a friend to later find out they comped the drink. The decor is a nice take on the popular New American style. Very bright and welcoming space. Food was pretty good. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich which I enjoyed. Id order it again. All in all a very pleasant experience!

This place is lucky that they have decent food. Their service is horrible. On our second visit we were told to wait for 10 minutes for a table. 30 minutes later we approached the hostess about when we might be seated. The very person that we had checked in with could not remember who we were or that we should be seated ever. This is a near repeat incident of our first visit. Poor service or incompetent staff will not get you more than one star rating in our book.

Ate there for breakfast this morning. I ordered steak and eggs, and was not impressed. Hangar steak was correct rarity that I ordered, but had the worst flavor of any steak Ive ever eaten at a restaurant. For $14, I was not impressed with the portion size. Potato fries were slightly undercooked as well. Only thing I really enjoyed was the coffee. Needless to say I wont be coming back. Theres good places to get breakfast in the region, and this is not one of them.

One of my favorite places in Woodinville. The food is always great, nice service, and a wonderful laid back atmosphere. I went during happy hour this time - got their pretzel appetizer (delicious, I love the jalepeno cream cheese dip) and spicy fried shrimp (also good). I got to try some of their chicken and waffles and their cast iron oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and man, those hit the spot too. All in all, just go there for great food and great atmosphere.

Let me start saying that I was planning to come to this place since months ago. I really was looking forward to eat in here.. I am really disappointed. They did a good job with the image of the restaurant, logos, graphics, interior design, etc. However the 2 most important things, service and food, were pretty bad. Dont let the nice wrapper trick you to eat a bad meal. I will not recommend this place at all.

The drip coffee and cold brew were both outstanding! It was very crowded on a Saturday afternoon so I think it is safe to expect that there will be a sizable wait on the weekends. We just popped in for some coffee and pastries and the staff was nice, but didnt look very all that pleased to be working in the chaos. The pastries were nice, but the coffee will definitely be what brings us back to The Commons.

The wait staff are awesome. As is the coffee and the sweet roll. I just had a pretzel and best reviews would be "meh!" As it was more bread like than a pretzel and fairly greasy. The food. Seems to have taken a nosedive since they never first opened. Ill have to give brunch another try but dinner menu is... tired. Kinda pricey. Ive been disappointed the past 2-3 times we have dined here. Sigh...

Good atmosphere and service, but the food was mediocre at best. They changed the recipe of the chicken tenders and they arent nearly as what they were. Also the fish and chips was pretty bad the breading was horrible and the price was high. Last the salad was good but i didnt get a choice of dressing and it came dressed and had a tad bit too much dressing.

Ladies night out experience was fantastic. Dessert and appetizers all tasted great. The staff was accommodating when some of our party showed up late. Our waiter kept us politely informed when the kitchen closed and they were very patient as it took us past closing to clear out. I will be back for a date night.

The place was really packed and very lively - we went on a weekday for lunch, and they were out of a bunch of items on the menu that we had wanted, which was kind of strange. Food and service was great, just unfortunate that two of the items that our party of four wanted to order were not available.
