Hi Spot is a good solid breakfast spot where nothing was incredible, but everything was pretty good. The coffee is good, but pretty much what youd expect at a dinner. The Sammy Sue sandwich was good with nice thick sourdough bread, egg, lettuce, tomato, and delicious bacon. The bacon here was outstanding, fairly thick cut and very chewable, almost more like pork belly. The bengal benedict was nice with some curry sauce on it, but I could have used more spice and seasoning to bring it out. I ended up adding tobasco sauce which did in fact enhance the flavor considerably. The potatoes were a bit disappointing and a little mushy. Service was good though not outstanding. It was incredibly warm inside on a fall day which was odd and I wish they had the outside part open because we ended up waiting a while to be seated.

I love the Hi Spot. Great atmosphere - basically an old house with a somewhat funky layout, but it is really cool. The food is good and while most know the Hi Spot for their breakfast, I really like their lunch which I think is only served during the week. Weekends are somewhat crowded so expect a wait especially in the Winter when their deck is not open, but the people add to the atmosphere so I do not mind waiting. Breakfast is good and I recommend enjoying it with one of their Bloody Marys. Finally, I like to stop by and to get an espresso in the mornings. It tastes even better with one of their homemade biscuits - especially the cheddar/bacon biscuit when they have them. Just thinking about the cheddar/bacon biscuit makes me want to head over there right now...and I am not joking about that.

This is a wonderful place to satisfy your craving for breakfast food! The portions are generous, and if you cant make up your mind on what to order, at least try their scones! Scones at cafes are usually dry, a little crusty, and not very appealing. After one bite of Hi-Spots orange-poppyseed scones, I redefined my impression of scones: moist and soft on the inside -- just delicious! The not-too-sweet freezer jam also complemented the taste very well. I also tried their omelet, which was quite tasty as well. The cozy environment really puts you into the mood for eating their delicious breakfast foods. I would definitely go back again in the future.

Have been going here since I can remember, walking up with my family from a few blocks away. Always delicious food, the cinnamon rolls are a great thing to split or if you have a sweet tooth, delicious with coffee or tea! Love the omelets, home fries are wonderfully seasoned, and the jam and toast are also divine. Ive had almost everything on the breakfast/brunch menu, and nothing has disappointed! Great atmosphere inside, as the restaurant was built in house. Also great local art is displayed on the walls and the walls are fun vibrant colors! The servers are very friendly--and very Seattle.

This place sidles the line between standard breakfast cafe and fancy breakfast. For example, the toast is big thick nice bakery bread, but you butter it from butter packets on the table. Pros: atmosphere and service is nice. Food is solid - the home fries are lightly seasoned potato wedges, yum. Cons: my bacon was a bit weak. At $11 for bacon and eggs, its expensive for what you get. My meal came with a side of tasty raspberry preserves, but not enough jam to cover my two smallish pieces of toast.

Ill be honest, I have a high standard when it comes to breakfast dishes, and Im rarely satisfied at most places Ive been to. If I can cook a better version of the dish myself, then I wont be willing to pay for it. And thats the case for most of the time. But the breakfast here blows my mind. Its tasty, cooked with perfect combination of flavors. And to top that off, the homey atmosphere is complementary to the meal. Services are friendly too. I regret for not discovering this place earlier.

Nothing special... Huevos Rancheros was very mediocre. Canned refried beans with nothing added to make them better, steamed corn tortillas with no spice, little cheese, The salsa looked right from a bottle too, and a small side of salad which could have gone on any sandwich plate. Nothing stood out, nothing special, probably one of the worst Huevos I have had. Coffee was good though, atmosphere was nice, although quite cold in the space, considering it was 11am in the morning.

We love brunch and have been to almost every brunch place in central Seattle. This is my absolute favorite. The food is delicious and high quality, with a variety of interesting options not found elsewhere. The service staff is incredibly friendly, prompt, and helpful. They have a liquor license and serve mimosas, beer, etc, and my favorite: the spot on Americano (americano with baileys). I suggest this place frequently to friends and family, and go every chance I get!

I used to like going there for their morning pastries, and occasional full breakfast. Last couple times I went there the barista told me to heat up my own biscuit when I asked her to, and told another one to say the same thing. I didnt want to feel like interfering with their work area, and felt akward. Rude service!! Angry baristas. Ill never go back there again. There are too many other places to eat out in the neighborhood.

Always busy and always delicious. Very little of their menu cant be cooked in my own kitchen but then Id have to do it, thered be a mess to clean up, and it would take longer. Their drip coffee is divine and the old house turned into a restaurant makes for fun seating. Their outdoor patio is nice but the chairs arent great.

Was in Seattle for three days for my honeymoon. My wife and I ended up at the Hi-Spot Cafe twice. Great food, great people, great vibes from this fun cafe. The staff was awesome as they recommended several places to go while in Seattle and even gave us a free cinnamon roll (HUGE) for it being our honeymoon. Highly recommend!

A very decent brunch place that gets busy during the weekend. Service is relatively fast once you are seated, and their servers are very congenial and will chat with you if you engage them. The food is more than adequate though not the best either. For the price, I think it is worth it.

Weve been coming here for years and I shouldnt tell you this, because they only produce a limited number each day, but the raspberry scone is what life is about. Nutty, perfect texture, with a puddle of hot raspberry jam. Prepare for battle for the middle earth if you plan to share.

Hands down one of the best places for weekend brunch. Cozy and homey atmosphere. Cinnamon rolls are pretty big, so great for sharing. The Bengal Benedict is a favorite. Curry sauce instead of hollandaise and home fries to go with. The Tofu Scramble is another favorite.

Ive been going to this breakfast and lunch venue - Ive only eaten breakfasts - in a converted heritage house for more than a third of a century, and nothing seems to have changed. Cheese-baked eggs is an outstander. Biscuits and gravy. Great coffee and baked goods.

Me and my girlfriend have been coming here for years. During this time weve got to know to the staff really well, and have almost become part of the Hi Spot family. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is very relaxed and casual.
